Still can’t shoot threes or free throws. Still don’t handle the ball well. Defense was better but how does a team with a first team AA go through 6-7 minute scoring droughts? Plus the guard from Pitt shoots too much.
some photos from last week. Posted the same things before but this time with a nicer phone camera could really go for some Siam House right now Spoiler
Our FB HC is basically just a FCA counselor that hired a couple good coordinator a few years ago Need soccer to take care of business vs PSU because the men's sports portfolio could really use a lift right now #LEO
So rob is still just really bad at basketball. I think you just need to roll the dice with lander at backup point in this next stretch of games against inferior opponents. He can’t be worse than what phinisee is giving. He freaks out every time he faces pressure
Phinisee lives to play 15+ minutes without scoring a point Hopefully the rotation tightens up some. Don't need to be playing 11 dudes Only 18 3-pt attempts. Coaching staff isn't as analytically inclined as I was expecting/hoping
I’m ok for now. Limiting runouts on misses since they still can’t shoot from deep is ok. At some point the talent they face will dictate them needing to make shots.
completely ignored that PSU game and glad about it because we lost 3-0 but we got our 8th straight national seed in the NCAA Tournament, hosting Bowling Green in the second round tomorrow as the 15 seed. So hopefully we bounce back quickly and get another hot streak going Indiana is the only program to earn a national seed in each of the last eight seasons. IU's 2021 tournament berth marks its NCAA-record 35th consecutive appearance and 46th overall in program history. Since the NCAA began its current seeding format in 2003, the Hoosiers have earned a top-16 seed in 17 of the 19 tournaments. IU has appeared in 21 College Cups, which leads all Division I teams, and won its eighth national title in 2012. Indiana enters the NCAA Tournament with a 14-5-1 record. The Hoosiers finished No. 3 in the Big Ten with a 5-3-0 record and as the runners-up in the conference tournament. Late in the season, IU shut out seven straight opponents, the second-longest single-season streak in program history. Altogether, the Hoosiers have recorded 12 clean sheets. fuck Tom Allen and his FCA shtick
Could be an all time low for IU basketball fans on Monday. Since Gonzaga lost to Duke, Purdue may be ranked #1 in the country for the first time ever. Hopefully Duke somehow jumps them.
Wait what? Recruiting seems to be going great. Results so far are all positive even if they're still ironing things out offensively. This team seems light years better coached Game hasn't even started yet...
To be clear the men's hoops team is not losing 1-0 at halftime vs Washington. Men's soccer is leading 1-0 at halftime in Seattle
Yup, didn’t even mention the recruiting which has been at minimum solid in his short tenure. I don’t care if they played trash teams the last week, allowing 18% and 21% opponent fg % in the last 2 games is objectively good
Fair enough... I'll save the snark. I obviously, really want him to work out, but am very much tempering my hopes.
The defensive metrics are super encouraging to me. Seems like coaches actually know how to communicate at practice and make adjustments in game. We'll see if they stay this high but it's so much better than Archie
FWIW I understand why you’re skeptical. I just don’t share the same perspective because he never coached an nba team I care about so I’m probably giving him more of a benefit of the doubt
I fully know this is a meathead corollary, but I think the players are at least a little fearful of him, at least in comparison to Archie. The level of focus, especially on defense, has been something that’s been clearly noticeable. I don’t know if this is the case, but it seemed like Archie would let the team off the hook when they made mistakes. Now, they know they’re going to be held accountable for poor play. Even during last game, they kept harping on the fact that they would be running at practice if they went over 12 turnovers. That wasn’t happening during the archie era.
Fwiw, I do think IU will look good defensively under him. I thought the Hawks always looked better defensively with him (from what I remember, as it was quite a while ago), because he comes from the Larry Brown school of coaching. It's just everything else wasn't so great.
The Pac-12 Live feed going down while the #2 overall seed is hosting the best program in history is so on brand for that shit conference
well fuck. Lose 3-2 in OT, dude had a hat trick fuck UW and their inability to actually stream the fucking game
I hate Tom Allen so much. Preseason top 15 (maybe even top 10??) to 2-10 on the year and 0-9 in B1G play? 44-7 to Purdue? LOVE EACH OTHER !~!~!~!
Walt Bell seems kinda underwhelming, no? I guess I can’t really have expectations on a better hire following a winless big ten season. I’d imagine anyone would be better than what Sheridan was this year.
I don't have cable so can't watch. But jesus we're beating Wisconsin 42-20 in Madison?? Build the man a statue if he wins this one holy shit
Statistic from the game said if Woodson wins this game, it would be the first time in 100 years that a first year head coach at IU won his first conference road game. That’s astonishing to me.
I’ve seen plenty of IU games where a no name bench player from the opposing team who averages 3 points a game will come in and drop 30.
