Ok, who wants to talk IU? Because I do. What the hell will happen next year? Feels like it's Crean's time to sink or swim. Lack of a big man really hurt this year, and we need Yogi to come back imo. http://www.insidethehall.com/2015/04/08/roundup-indiana-present-in-most-early-preseason-top-25s/
How is the IU online program for a ms in finance? Everything I've read / seen has raved about Kelly's online resources, but was hoping someone here could provide some more intimate knowledge about the grad school in general? Rankings seem great and I have a unique opportunity to have my Indiana based employer fully fund tuition. TIA for any relative insight
You can't go wrong with anything involving Kelley. Know a couple of people that have done the online coursework and they had no complaints. Seems like a no brainer, especially if you're getting it paid for.
I'd rather talk football. Does the kid who can't throw further than 10yds start next season? Or was that a "whoopsie we forgot to recruit enough QB's" thing?
Sudfeld will be back, he separated his shoulder half way through last season and is the starter. Our 2nd string guy tore his ACL in practice at basically the same point in the season. 2 other transfers last spring on top of that and that's how that joke Zander started.
Old news with Blackmon Jr, Yogi, and Williams coming back another year. Think Yogi made the right decision not going pro. Thomas Bryant, the 6'10" Forward was a huge commit, too. It'd be great if we could pull away from Kentucky with Thon Maker, too. 7' tall Forward/Center.
How about our Offensive Line? They have been quietly very good IMO. Big reason Tevin was able to get 2'000 yds rushing on a broken foot and absolutely no passing attack. Big hats off to Greg Frey.
Yeah the Spriggs kid played HS ball up here at Concord, kinda surprised he developed as fast as he did starting as a frosh. Looks like a levity NFL prospect.
this sounds vaguely familiar. i would have known some IU cheerleaders at the time. bet we have some mutuals.
It was last weekend when I was in school, but fuck yes. The seniors refused to let Sports shut down that Saturday and they kept it open until like 4AM. People were making out, crying (girls), ripping shots, dancing all over the bar etc. When they tried to close at 3:00 or whatever, they all started chanting "HELL NO WE WONT GO" and started singing their own songs. Then the DJ was like "FINE FINE, a few more songs" Bananas to say the least. For me, this was also after going to the Derby that day so it was probably one of the longest days of heavily drinking in my entire drinking career.
I lived there as well. Can't remember if we talked about that back while I was still in school. Great spot other than them being nazis about late night parties and such, I was threatened eviction literally my very first or second weekend.
thoughts on basketball below but more than anything, I want IU soccer to win the fucking B1G regular season championship in 2015. That is absolutely mission critical in my book. I'm sick and tired of losing to Penn St and Michigan St in soccer. With Maryland now in the conference it's time to get back to business, which entails dominating the B1G. Grand Lillard, will you be my valentine? hopefully some sportswriter who loves college basketball is ready to be glued to the IU program over the next year because wow is it going to be under a huge microscope. A year after we had absolutely no shooting we had absolutely no big man/defense. My expectations for this upcoming season: we continue to defend at a level that allows teams to shoot incredibly high percentages on 2-point jumpers and get into the paint/to the rim at will. We continue to be an offense that relies overwhelmingly on 3-point shots and we continue to turn the ball over at a rate well above the national average and closer to what you see in the women's game. We continue to shift from man to zone and vice versa mid-possession on the defensive end. This will allow opposing teams to continue to score garbage buckets after eating up large chunks of the shot clock. The new big man will go multiple B1G games with fewer than 4 field goal attempts just like Vonleh did. We see a home schedule that includes tons of out of conference games vs really really low RPI teams (like sub-200 RPI), further reflecting an inability to game the RPI, which is par for the course since Glass took over as AD. We lose in the Sweet 16. We hire Brad Stevens after firing Crean. Little 500 2016 will be the GOAT I'm so stoked about the direction the swimming and diving programs are trending. Our women finished top 10 at nationals this year, finishing the meet in very strong fashion and in the process knocking Tennessee out of the top 10 to 11th. That was so awesome. Seems like every elite amateur diver in the world is interested in coming to Bloomington. Men's cross country also seems like it is a major power with track and field standing to make considerable gains thanks to the ability to recruit using the pitch that we produced Derek Drouin aka the most decorated field athlete in the modern history of intercollegiate athletics early returns on Lemonis aren't too good but his reputation is as a recruiter so it's too early to get down on him for not being able to work the same magic Tracy had going. It'll be weird not following IU in the postseason this year I've seen men's tennis and men's golf in person this spring. Golf had some really good kids on the team but man men's tennis acts so bush league. The coach apparently wants his players to carry themselves with an edge and get in the heads of their opponents. It is embarrassing to be honest
below = photo dump of some of my favorite photos related to IU the 2012 soccer national championship reaction pictures bring tears to my eyes. If I were ever in a situation where I needed to fake cry I can just spend a solid 30-45 seconds thinking about that whole experience and I'll have tears running down my cheeks like a flash flood Spoiler Cody was asked to pose for many photographs at IU but he said only once with a parrot Tallahassee here we come! prior to the 84 Games (fucking MJ in Adidas) Orlando chapter of the IU Alumni Association pre-Magic game during Vic's rookie year Cody and Victor talking to a 100-year-old fan who was attending his first IU game my dog Rory on Homecoming weekend 2014 Rory in front of Showalter Fountain this past fall in front of Showalter Fountain in summer of 2010 a few months before moving away in Griffy Lake summer of 2010 in front of Woodburn Hall aka my favorite building to have classes in still the last undefeated college basketball team
Team Wright Quad what what. GOAT food court East 4th St food options I wish I could eat at Siam House every day
Boobs, MBA, football, soccer, basketball. They've all been topics ITT. It is only page 1. High hopes for thisthread.
Yeah, this thread has seen a lot more action than it did before the crash and now not having stupid ass thread titles. I'll try and get a photo dump on here, too.
Snagged these from FB for a photodump... Couldn't find the picture of the downed boat from the lake, unfortunately. Spoiler KOK @7PM on a Thursday Day 1... Realllly close to my building Lake Monroe nostalgia... Better picture if that boat was on its side. Anyone ever have sake bombs in this room? Think this place is closed now It was called Japonais, right? First snow... Back side of Kelley 2 top 5 picks in this picture. KOK patio on a nice spring day The day I got a giant head with no one sitting behind me... Sofia Vergara. Ex gf took this of the TV in her living room in Chicago. First game of the season... Mayhem in the tailgate fields. I still wear this guy all the time All I could find... They gave me nostalgia at least.
Might as well toss wrestling in the mix since we had a national finalist this year in Taylor Walsh. This is the quarter finals, but it was on TV
The trip to Bloomington in October was my first time back with Rory in four years, it was so awesome to have him on campus and in the surrounding neighborhoods again. Holy shit the new dorms across from Eigenmann on 10th were sooo nice. That was my first time seeing those. I think they're all called Union St Center Walking through the Northwest neighborhood with Homecoming stuff going on made me want to go back to school soooooooo bad
I sake bombed many a times in those rooms at Japonee. Feel like they shut down but then reopened somewhat recently.
those pathetic non-conference home games I was talking about, and that we have all become so familiar with in recent years, well.... Mike Miller @MikeMillerHT Indiana will host non-con home games w/ McNeese State (12/12) and Kennesaw State (12/22), per records request filed by @theheraldtimes also, there's a new university procedure in place concealing the location of sexual assaults reported to IUPD. IDS stories always used to report where assaults took place, often allowing victims to be easily identified http://www.idsnews.com/article/2015/05/new-iu-procedure-conceals-locations-of-sexual-assault-reports
Terrible Creighton at Assembly Hall, Maui Invitational, Duke on the road, ND in Indy and then a bunch of shit for students and season-ticket holders There is a way to game the RPI and schedule beatable teams without sending contracts to every team below 220 in the RPI. It's embarrassing. Fred Glass sold a home football game to PSU so they could have a reunion in DC. He scheduled offensive powers Navy and Missouri in a football season where we fell 1 win shy of a bowl game thanks to a pathetic defense. And every year post-UK contract the home non-conference slate has been embarrassing. Glass is terrible at scheduling for revenue sports and terrible at providing a respectable return for people paying so much for tickets I remember getting to see Duke and UConn on campus my freshman year. It was pretty neat to see
An IU student was arrested for attempted murder. South Henderson St is where police were dispatched to http://www.idsnews.com/article/2015/05/iu-student-facing-attempted-murder-charge
Devin Davis cited for possession of marijuana Well it was a good offseason for like a month. Glad to see the team is still out of control Davis is the last person I'd expect to be breaking laws after his last bad decision almost cost him his life
