Same. I just loaded up. I don't always love holding through earnings. But you've shown a lot of evidence supporting your position.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that holding through earnings typically involves a lot of pain
But really it’s hard to say because a once in a generation event happened last week. They were the best positioned company to take advantage of it. Should learn more tomorrow at the hearing and Friday morning
yeah i wish i knew wtf they're talking about i clicked on my TDA option chain and it's like reading sanskrit
Samsara is a tech company I work with for GPS/Camera/sensors/etc. that is amazing. They are filling for their IPO next month. I've been asking to buy employee shares for a few years, but none would sell. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/cloud-tech-firm-samsara-file-225259874.html https://www.samsara.com/ The founders started Meraki - a cloud IT company now owned by Cisco
at the peak of the outages last week 48.6% of the generation capabilities in texas were offline. wow.
Short selling. It's all gambling to a certain extent. Short selling just makes more sense for me than understanding options.
after listening to the ERCOT meeting I really don't think they could've done anything to prevent what happened last week. It sounds like a bunch of third parties needed to winterize their stuff and they didn't want to spend the money to do it.
Gambling with unlimited loss exposure. Buying calls / puts aren’t that complicated and you’re not going to lose more than what you put in.
dukebuckeye Using the stock you mentioned. You could short it at the current price, $33.60 for 100 shares and buy the $32.50 Call for 3/19 for $310. Now your max risk is $200 and you still have all but $310 of your potential gain from shorting. Its called a synthetic put if you want to play with it on here https://www.optionsprofitcalculator.com/calculator/covered-call.html
I don’t see it keeping up for as long as it did last time so that’s probably a play, but they’re gonna be expensive as fuck with how it’s moving.
