Ninja can have his thread but I'm taking his icon.

What gear are you going to? And 2.5" lift? Did you go with tube fenders or something or did you just stuff them under there? Pics?

Damn, I didin't think they'd stuff under with that small of a lift. How much up travel do you have? Oh, what lift, too? Pics would be sweet.

Thanks. Im in Arizona. Thing about getting some flat fenders. Didn't like the way it looked at first but the more I see them the more I like them. Also thought about bedlining them like the grill.

I don't commute to work anymore so I put like 20 miles on mine a week, and that's a lot.

    Man I miss this thing.

4 banger with the 5spd but I had a hell of a time with it.
3.5 Rubicon Express and 1 inch body lift
Currie Anti-rock sway bar in the front
    Hand throttle
    Bed liner in the tub
Durango 4x4 front bumper (not in the picture)
Hella spot lights on the windshield (not in the picture)
Had an awesome sound system in it with two 12s in the back when I had the seat out (subs, what a highschool move:facepalm:)

Ahh, you have a JK. I was thinking TJ so that's why I was baffled on how you stuffed 35's with a 2.5" lift. Your rig is really really clean. Like it a lot. Cyn and I have talked about getting one when we have kids. I have a TJ and she has as an Audi TT, both not practical for kids. We've talked about getting a 4 door hard top and just whomever has the kids takes that vehicle and that way we can both keep our toys.

Btw, if any of you guys are replacing/upgrading headlights, check out the Truck-Lite LED lights. Good Lord at the difference in these from stock. Pricey, but worth it. Love them. Here's mine:

Have a Wrangler, but it's a newer one that won't get customized (wife primarily drives it). I do, however, want to get an older one for me to drive around town and to customize.

We've got the 2-door, and having the hard and soft top is the best thing ever. The soft is great for 8 months of our year, and the hard top is perfect for winter up here. Love having both.

Yea, if we went that route, we'd have the hard top and that would be it. It would never come off bc the kids would always be in that car. Safety and shit.

People who have done the rhino-liner in the floors: How is it on road noise and heat. I have a jeep that is a secondary vehicle removable carpet and leave the top off all the time in the summer. I have just been leaving the carpet out with the bare floor but the road noise and heat from the transmission are pretty terrible.I have been thinking about bedliner but want to make sure it does what I need.

A tip for those with carpet; the easiest way to clean it is to take it all out, go to a laundromat and throw it in a big washing machine.

I couldn't tell a difference in road noise at all. The heat is somewhat reduced compared to just a bare metal tub though.

It's been a while since I have been on any of the Jeep forums but I remember one guy who lined his hard top with carpet and claimed it reduced his road noise pretty well.

I pulled my carpet and bedlined it. Road noise is fine. I get a little heat in some spots but nothing extreme. If I had to do it again, I'd have gotten it done with Line-X. Everything I've read says it's great.

I had a shop do it. When I bought the Jeep, the front dash was in bad shape. In TJ's, all of the dash/doors/center console isn't impregnated with color. Some of it is black plastic that is just painted. Well, my airbag was just painted. I bought it from an old man that had it as his "beach house vehicle." It basically sat under his beach house with no top for like 8 years. He drove it when he was at the beach and the weather was good and it sat the rest of the time. That's why the mileage was so low (40k on a 98). Anyways, the airbag was painted and the paint had basically melted over the years from being outside. When it melted, it collected sand and dust. Shit was nasty. You can kinda see it here:

Had the dash, doors, and console stripped down and re-dyed. Looks like a new dash now.

I say all of this bc I had the same shop do the floors and he used a bedliner that you can color to match whatever you want. I didn't want a black floor in a green Jeep. I wanted it to be the same color the carpet was and match the doors/dash. . Looks great...

... but the material is really really soft. It's scratched up in several places. Hell, when I was having the sound system hooked back up, they had to find a ground and just used a screwdriver and easily dug through the bedliner. It looks great but I'm not a fan of it at all bc it's so soft.

If you do it, find a Line-X dealer near you (http://www.linex.com/) and be done with it. Line-X dries in an hour and is rock hard. They can do colors, too. I was to rip this shit out and get it done by Line-X. No idea how hard it will be to get this shit out, though.

What kind of lift would you need to run 37's on a 4 door jeep? Thinking about picking one up to mess around with no more land rover. I'll get hell for this but I want to run the Toyo open country mt 37's so I can put 24's on it. I'd obviously have a different set of wheels/tires to play around in. Here is a pic of one with 37 toyos and 24s [IMG]

If you're getting 24s you're probably just going for the look of a mall crawler. A 4" inch can almost fit 37s (on 17s) but you'll probably need spacers and do some trimming on the flares and probably the pinch seam. I trimmed the pinch seam on mine with 35s just because it seemed to close for my comfort. With the setup you're wanting you'll probably need a 6" lift at least. Tires are gonna run you at least $500 a pop I would imagine

here's my 2011, although the windows are tinted now. it's our only means of conveyance (except for my cruiser) until my wife finishes nursing school.

she's already got a job for when she's done, and she'll be getting her own car. that'll leave me free to put 35's on this hog, rock rails and rock bumpers on the front and back. it'll be stored in the garage, entonces the roof will be coming off permanently. :bartscottcantwait:

Prkbably 3-4 inches depending on your flares and how much clearance you want. Do a search on the forium kn jkowners.com and I'm sure you'll find a ton of threads.
