Are those spoiler pics? I don't recall ever seeing Spoiler Ben interact with Jacob's weaving , nor do I recall seeing Spoiler Tarawet with someone walking in the foreground . Just, ya know, asking...
IIRC, Ben did take a look at the weave. The second one is MIB walking away from Jacob though. You can see Jacob sitting down on the ground. Edit: I have the season 5 finale on my external HD, and went to the part where Locke and Ben meet Jacob, and Ben did touch his weave.
No, the first two I got soon after the end of last season I think. Just had them saved. I think both are screen caps.
Oh and here is a third promo pic released through Entertainment Weekly last week http://www.ew.com/ew/special/0,,20313460_20336788,00.html
A couple more questions. Probably really stupid. I just finished Season 3 again. When Charlie goes to unlock the jammer why did he not just run outside the door instead of closing it on himself? I know Desmond says that Charlie will die sooner rather than later but Charlie could have easily made it outside. Also why didnt he swim through the window.
window too small and becuase he was supposed to die why do people trip in movies all the time running away from murderers? they had to kill him
I've seen this asked many times. The general consensus is: A) He knew he had to die for Claire to be saved. Desmond had seen it. If he had escaped, he would have either died some other way, or Claire and Aaron would not be saved. He sacrificed himself. B) The character had been destined to die for a while, so they made it really dramatic like and shit. Again, I'll leave you with a "Hmmmm..." moment. Bonnie (one of the chicks in The Looking Glass station) told Charlie that the code had been input by a musician. Charlie, on just the most base information, tapped out the tune perfectly. Some argue that Charlie himself, in some time in the past, programmed the code. (I don;t think so, but its cool to speculate...)
According to this timeline, Ben created a timeloop on the island so island time stays in 1996 every year while the real world keeps progressing. there is a note right below iteration 3.
I don't really get that part, doesn't make any sense and why would they pick '96? Am I not remembering something?
It's largely nonsense to theorize on anything to intense and wide-focused when it comes to time in this series. Until the writers more fully flesh out how their system of time-travel actually works, there won't be anything to figure out.
Interview with Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof (head writers for Lost) FWIW, no spoilers in article: http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune.com/entertainment_tv/2010/01/lost-carlton-cuse-damon-lindelof-season-6-abc.html#more
A couple theorys for you guys. I promise no spoilrers from Season 6. Got this from Lostpedia Theory 1: Walt is the smoke monster * Walt may be using his powers to send a mental self-projection to appear as the monster. (This can Be as Ben call the monster to help him when he in the house with Locke. the people from the ship send to get Ben of the Island. the monster come and kill the soldiers from the ship) * Maybe Walt is the monster - post death and freed from the bandages of time. Kills Eko, whom seemed to be an antagonist of Locke until a day or two before his death, and tries to bring Locke to a place where he could learn about the island (a pit possibly leading to temple). * Why would Walt go after the Pilot then? And kill all those other people in rather gruesome ways. The smoke monster was revealed to be the Medusa Spider that bit Nikkie so why would Walt do that? Theory 2: The smoke monster is Walt Evidence * Walt is just another projection that the Monster (maybe Jacob) used to move things along. o Jacob knows that only by saving Locke and manipulating him to perhaps convince Jack not to save the Losties--and, in effect, killing them and raising the possibility that the Island will be discovered and thereby tainted--can the Island be kept whole. + This is substantiated by Ben's insistence that everything he did he did for the "island." Which is Jacob, the manifestation of the power of the Island. * When Walt appeared to John, he was just a manifestation of the Island. Therefore it is the Island that is asking Locke to help. As we know Locke has "some sort of communion with the Island." o This explains why Jacob said, "Help me." Jacob is the Island. And since he knew that Jack and Naomi were trying to get rescued, he needed John's help to save the Island--to save him. o This would also explain why Ben shot Locke because Jacob asked Locke not Ben and this is why Jacob either brings Walt or a manifestation of Walt to help him. * The writers gave us subtle proof that Walt was a manifestation of the Island or of Locke's imagination. Walt always called Locke, "Mr. Locke" but when Walt appeared to Locke in "Through the Looking Glass" he called him "John." o In that case it would probably be the former, since Locke would probably imagine Walt calling him by what he always did, "Mr. Locke". Counter-evidence * If Jacob was going to show Walt to Locke, surely he wouldn't have shown an aged Walt - he'd show Walt as he looked when leaving the Island. This would ensure Locke actually recognized him. The Walt that Locke sees is actually Walt, and he has aged at an accelerated pace, in much the same way as Ben seems to (e.g. compared to Richard Alpert). o The actor who plays Walt is going to age, however they wanted him to still appear relatively young (hence the over-sized clothing and the frequent face close ups.) I don't think his rapid aging after being off the Island for only about a month (show time) is relevant. + If it wasn't, Locke wouldn't have mentioned that it was "Walt... only taller." + In reality Malcolm David Kelley, who plays Walt, is 17 years old. In the show, Walt is supposed to be 10 years old. This explains the rapid aging, it has nothing to do with events inside the plot. o Actually the producers confirmed in a recent podcast that Walt's appearance on the Island has been part apparition, part monster. * Walt is not Smoke Monster. Bea Klugh asked Michael if Walt was ever somewhere he shouldn't have been, and Michael was caught off-guard by the question, showing us that Walt has (at least) the ability to manifest himself away from his current physical location. * Wasn't Michael caught off guard because so many of the survivors saw Walt around the island after he was kidnapped? Wasn't at least one of his appearances attributed to the monster by the producers? * Based on the events occurring early in Season 5, it seems much more probable that Walt, at some point in the future, after he's grown older, returns to the Island and ends up becoming unstuck in time. When his world-line coincides with Locke's at the end of Season 3, he gives him the message to stop Naomi (his motivation hasn't been revealed yet). Theory 3: Walt controls the smoke monster * Walt controls the monster to appear to Locke. This is why his is "Walt only taller" (we can assume older) and yet, as the producers say, a manifestation of the monster. * Why would Walt go after all of the other people? And who controlled the monster before he crashed?
I don't think Walt is the smoke monster, but I do think he can project his image/his thoughts to locations he wants to. This is why he appeared to Shannon and then Shannon/Sayid near the beginning of season 2. Same thing when he talked to Michael on the computer. I don't think it was the others who did, but Walt projecting his thoughts to his dad. Interesting though with Walt calling him John and not Mr. Locke. He always did call him Mr. Locke during the first season. I also don't think Walt could control the monster/be the monster, because it made its first appearance timeline wise when Danielle and her crew crashed on the island in 1988. Walt wasn't born yet, so he couldn't be the monster.
The smoke monster being Walt is the only one that I could possibly think to be right. Watch the first episode. No one can find Vincent (the dog-aka Best Character on the show). He is always seen in the background just watching the other survivors as they explore the island. This also brings up that maybe the smoke monster was Vincent. But who really knows.
Some people think they show us who's going to die. One is for sure under Sayid. The other one is either Miles or Hurley. I don't think Hurley will die, but I could see Miles and/or Sayid.
Watch these in order. no spoilers Mysteries Of The Universe - Dharma Initative Mysteries Of The Universe - Dharma Initative Part 2 LOST Mysteries of the Universe Part 3 Lost - Mysteries Of The Universe Part 4 Mysteries Of The Universe Part 5 and 6
Just watched "Flashes Before Your Eyes" from season 3. Desmond centric episodes always happen to be some of the best hours of the entire series. That one, "Live Together, Die Alone" (season 2 finale), and of course "The Constant."
i'm pretty sure the writers confirmed that walt won't be back but why he was "special" will be explained
I hope so. I almost feel like they could bring him back anyways, and explain him being as tall as he is to being special or something. Not right away in the reboot (if they land the plane, which I think they will), but down the road. I'm sure they could figure out how. I just want some closure with his story. A lot of people are interested in the whole Libby thing, but I'm more interested in Walt.
Walt had to have been born on the island and that is where his special power comes from IE Miles. Just a guess though.
Michael was still with his squeeze at the time, so I can't imagine there being a way where he was born on the island. If so, that would mean a. he has been on the island before, because we assume he would have been there for his birth b. he wasn't with her when he was born, but I assume he would have brought that up if so
remove the "space" from [/ img] and it should work. and if you really think that Ilana is hotter than Kate and Shannon,
Bah, I just don't like skinny chicks. But lets stay on track, here, fuckers. http://entertainment.comedy.com/2010/01/20/italian-family-lost-recap/
