What did our final formation look like, I saw carrick came in for neville :loldog:

Too bad I'm about to get on a flight to dallas for the big12CG, I'd like to catch a replay.(By that I mean see pigs attempted flip.)

Vidic was sick, Neville left at the 34th minute with a knock then Wes Brown pulled up with a hamstring with maybe five minutes left.

Pretty much at the end Fletcher and Evra were playing in the middle with Ando, Giggs, Scholes, and Carrick playing right in front of them.

So what's the real reason we aren't taking the Serbian kids anymore? If it's not money I want to know why, do they suck now? Both are still really really young, and Ljajic has been training with Man U for months so why all of a sudden give up? I hope it does mean we are getting the Wolfsburg striker.

Re: ***Manchester United 09/10 Season Thread (@ West Ham 9CST SAT) ***

That's the million dollar question. Tosic is ours so he isn't going back the only problem is he was widely considered to be brought in strictly so we could also sign Ljajic. Ljajic was called little kaka and was really hyped last year but has been in poor form. We apparently had an option to opt out of the deal for Ljajic if we decided he wasn't worth the majority of the 17 mil package for the two. Where it gets fishy is we were super high on him just 6 months ago and now we are just backing out. People are worried that because of the debt brought on by the Glazer family the club is in serious financial crisis. This move seems to go against what the club has been saying about having the money to go out and get whoever they want. If we can't afford the ten million for a kid we really wanted six months ago, the club may be in worse shape then they are letting on. I personally wish we could get in on Hamsik or Ozil instead but if we can get Dzeko I will not complain.

The did say Ljajic has been training every once in a while in Manchester since we signed the deal. Must have found out he wasn't the next Kaka.

I agree the Ljajic stuff is pretty damn weird. It will be interesting to see what they do in the next transfer window regarding the debt and financial situation. Tosic hasn't done shit and I have seen that they are shopping him as well. He plays the same position as Valencia and Obertan, so really there is no need for him.

    Team news vs Wolfsburg

carrick + fletcher are supposed to start in defense today (both at CB :loldog:), with evra and chief executive David Gil's 19 year old son, Oliver, also set to start

oshea and jonny evans are out till january.

Nemanja Vidic (flu), Rio Ferdinand (calf), Wes Brown (hamstring), Gary Neville (groin), Rafael (shoulder) and Fabio da Silva (groin) all out

Van Der Sar is not making the trip.

Other unfamiliar faces included are Norwegian midfielder Magnus Eikrem, 19, and three 18-year-old English midfielders - Matt James, Oliver Norwood and Cameron Stewart.

i would guess we see pig start in goal.

On the wings right now we have a lot of bodies but nobody has stepped up on the left. Valencia has held down the right wing so all of them are fighting to get that left spot. Giggs has been stellar lately so when he starts he usually will start out wide on the left. With Evra back there it allows him to tuck in more and let Patrice attack down the wing. Obertan has been the most used sub on the left, and has gotten most of the starts when the kids are allowed to play. He is in front of Nani at this point on the bench. It all depends on what Giggs does in the near future and if Nani can put it together whether or not he will be starting consistently any time soon. He has been great so far though with the exception of maybe one game. His composure on the ball and simple dribbling skills make Nani's mistakes look even worse. He hardly ever loses the ball, which can not be said about Nani at this time unfortunately.

    bstock basically nailed it,

in a time where our midfield play has taken a big step down from last year, nani comes in and loses possession all the time, and obertan losses it very rarely, basically solidifying what we think has already started to happen (nani has no place in Utds ranks)

tbh, valencia has been the most consistent player this year. not the best, but IMO, by far the most consistent, he has even started to get on the score sheet.

his efforts are poor would be a nice way of putting it, he tries to do a lot himself (cutting inside to unleash a shot happens way too much)

look at what valencia does on the other side, he brings it up and every single time he takes it deep and crosses it. nani will pull up at the corner of the 18, dance and then decide if he is going to go back across the face of the goal, pass or take it back to the corner. like i said above, he losses possession as well. he will be worth a whole lot to someone who buys him because when he matures and figures out how to play, he can be a very dynamic player.

He still makes a lot of mistakes which could just be him pressing this year. Like CRon before he blew up, right now his decision making is very questionable. The skills are there but he has the tendency of taking too many people on or just hitting poor passes. Before this year it was all chalked up to him being young, but this year the expectation was that he was going to step up in Ronaldo's shoes so his mistakes are magnified. Because of the mistakes he can't get a solid run in the squad either which I think makes him even more prone to mistakes. Sir Alex seems to have lost faith in him. In short the talent is there, but he just hasn't but it together yet. Whether or not he will is the question.
