Yeah reading the quotes he's never playing for United again. Just there to increase numbers of players in training rather than bring in academy players. Sounds just like inviting a former player or colleague to train even when they're not on the team. Basically helps Bastian stay fit for his next club.
More I think back to it, I hope we play exactly like we did against Burnley the rest of the season. Save the finishing, of course. But man, some of that play was delightful.
have we scored from a corner this year? Don't think so. Blind, Smalling, et al aren't really offensive threats on set pieces sadly
this ref is on the take with letting them flop around like this. ugly, ugly game, especially in front of your home fans
Ibra is the only player on the pitch with any concept of how we should be playing. More direct passing. If they shell up like this you have to put pressure on the back line. Dropping into the midfield to pick up the ball and make the passes because Herrera, Schneiderlin, and Rooney aren't doing it.
Seems like the curse of the direction less squad continues from Moyes to LVG to Mourinho. Where is the substance, the tactics, the finishing of a team that looks like they know what they are doing?
Good to see the team - and Ibra - break out of their little slump. Granted Swansea is a bottom dweller but they needed 3 today. Yuge game at home next week. Hopefully they can sustain this momentum.
I don't understand it but somehow that lineup completely dominated the match. Pogba was fantastic today and his goal was sensational. Good to get Zlatan back on the scoresheet too. Hopefully that brace will get him back on track. Sucks that he is going to miss the Arsenal match due to yellow card accumulation.
Pretty strong statements from Jose. Makes you wonder if this is what's been keeping Mkhitaryan out of the lineup. dang thats brutal. I thought Mhiki's injury was his knee and no one should be risking further knee damange but what do I know.
Memphis scored twice today for the Netherlands. One was a free kick. If only he could do that shit at United.
Do you guys think mourinho will change formations? When you guys bought pogba for all that money I assumed you would play 4-3-3 because I think the LCM in that formation is pogba's best position and when you pay that much you usually build the team around that guy. With the growing popularity of the 3 man defense this year I wonder if a 3-5-2 that juve used under conte would ever be tried by mourinho. Pogba excelled in that position and it would allow rashford to play upfront with zlatan. I think baily will probably need to get healthy before trying it but it could help united's leaky D in the same way it helped Chelsea's. people have been quick to forget just how bad Chelsea's D was before the switch.
Can't wait until Smalling and Bailly are back. Rojo and Jones have played pretty well but we are so vulnerable on set pieces like that.
Europa is probably our clearest path to the Champions League at this point. Especially with Chelsea and Liverpool having no CL/EL and Tottenham getting eliminated from the CL this week.
