I’m cool with drafting an RB high, but would prefer it to not be until the second round. Would rather have 2 OL in the first.

problem is the top OL are expected to be gone by 18

our best hope is that the rumors about Wills possibly dropping are true and Thomas somehow gets past TB at 14

Our choices likely will end up being Josh Jones or Austin Jackson

Yeah that’s my concern too, for while it felt like Thomas might slip to 18 but I don’t see that happening. Cool with Jones being one of the picks and then from there who knows?

Was listening to one of the podcasts today and they brought up that we don’t have to fix the entire OL in this draft and reach for guys in the 1st or 2nd that really should go 3rd of 4th

brought up all the picks in next years draft as well where if we could get a solid OT this draft and then continue to build next first round too we could have a makings of a very solid foundation on the line

we need to come out of this draft with starters with each of our picks in the first 3 rounds

When you have a shit ton of picks it's ok to reach a little bit if you have a conviction, but with so many holes on the team, you need to be picking BPA

I would say no. There’s some good talent in this draft but there’s no generational talents. I’d be fine taking a 3-5th rd flyer on someone (Akers, clydro,Dillon) maybe even a 2nd if one of the top guys falls. There’s quality guys at other positions in this class I’d rather have

Hypothetical- what is Houston can’t resign Tunsil? Would y’all want to bring him back?

it’ll cost top dollar, but it’s a huge need and he’s in his prime and we are familiar with the player

Feel like with our FA moves it removes edge rusher as a need for one of our picks, we were protected for Chaissan or Braun

Have seen safety mentioned as a possibility at 18 or 26

who do we want McKinney or Delpit

or try to get a S in rounds 2 or 3

I would be really happy either either S in that scenario. What a defensive backfield that would be...

Feel like OL and QB are the biggest needs. Safety and I feel like one big DT to disrupt thing in the middle would be a big help too. Is Lawson going to play OLB or DE? Or a JACK-type hybrid role? I think maybe one more pass rushing DE would be nice too.

I wouldn't mind bringing in a mid-round WR either. They've said we "feel fine about WR" but idk. We have Parker who was great last year, but not much after that. Albert Wilson is going to be cut or restructured, Preston Williams showed some promise, Jakeem... he is not going to be much more than he is, Ford showed some flashes late in the year but is he better than a #4? Gesicki improved as a reciever last season but he's not somebody who really scares a DC. I wouldn't mind adding another playmaker in the passing game to the mix.

Edit: looks like Lawson and Ogbah will be the DE and I guess Van Noy in a JACK role.

3 YPC guys have a source that said we’ll make a play for burrow too with 5/18 this year and a first for next year

don’t think bengals will go for it though

All that tells me is that we are pretty worried about Detroit or Washington taking a QB. I just can't see Washington passing on Young though.

I'd love either Tua or Burrow. Anyone else is a disaster so I guess we are trying to put that risk on them.

bad subject but they talked about the dion Jordan trade up that occurred. Said the night before the draft they had a dinner and ross went around the table and asked who everyone’s top prospect was and dion Jordan was the majority answer. So he said why not go up and get him then. FWIW their backup plan was to trade back for Werner from FSU so it was a shit plan regardless

Still think there is a decent chance that Tua is there at 5. Washington seems locked into Young and Detroit has a glaring need at CB so Okudah makes too much sense. Guess the Giants are the pivot selection.

I think there is a very good shot at Tua there at 5

Point it seems ross is saying is if we like burrow more why not try to get him

or this is all smoke to throw off that scent that we want Tua very badly

I’m most worried about the chargers trading up to 3 or 4 but we would have the ammo to easily beat their offer. And that would be a hell of a lot cheaper than moving up to 1

I wish they’d go ahead and sign Cam

Now I see Schefter up here saying we may like Herbert over Tua and suddenly I’m real cool with giving up multiple 1s for Burrow. Tua>>>Burrow IMHO

I think there's not much chance Tua is on the board at 5.

Historically elite QB prospects either go #1/2 or someone makes a big trade for them.

I'm not completely sold on the Skins taking him, but I think they'd be making a huge mistake if they didn't. Young can be as good as he wants, it doesn't mean shit until you have a good QB. I think it's easy to lose sight on the relative value of other positions compared to QB. Tua doesn't need to be as good of a QB as Young is a rusher to make Tua the correct decision. The Skins are stupid though, so maybe we can still trade up to 2 or 3 and get him.

Medical for Tua has been glowing so far. I’d put my money on us trading up to 3 for him as the most likely scenario still

I'm beginning to warm myself up to the thought of taking Herbert if Tua isn't available at 5 or we decide to not trade up. Put up huge numbers as a senior, won 12 games and Rose Bowl, can make every throw, good size, etc. What am i missing here and why is our fanbase comparing him to Tannehill? Because he's white?

    From Peter king

    1. I think, if I were Miami GM Chris Grier, and I liked Joe Burrow clearly above all other quarterbacks this year, I’d call the Bengals and offer four first-round picks for Cincinnati’s first overall pick. I think, if I were Cincinnati owner Mike Brown, I’d say no—under one important condition.

    2. I think, now that you’d like to have me committed, here’s my logic:

Miami owner Stephen Ross has made it priority one in the organization to find the next Dan Marino, or at least some reasonable facsimile. At all costs, a franchise quarterback must be procured. Pronto.

Miami holds the fifth, 18th and 26th picks in the first round of this year’s draft, and two first-round picks next year.

Trading 5, 18, 26 and one of next year’s first-rounders (let’s estimate the 16th pick in the draft) would leave Miami over the next two drafts with one pick in the first round and four in the second round.

If you’re Grier, and you’ve got questions about Tua Tagovailoa’s long-term health or Justin Herbert’s upside, the sensible thing is to use a huge chunk of the draft capital you’ve accumulated for the purpose of being sure you’ve got the long-term quarterback you think is clearly the best one in a good class.

As for the Bengals, the only way I say yes to the deal is if Herbert or Tagovailoa is 1b to Burrow’s 1a. They’d have to be very close. If they are, and if the Dolphins make my fictitious offer, the Bengals should do the deal. I’ve heard there are some inside the Bengals who are true believers in Herbert, and if so, such a deal could be intelligent for Cincinnati. But we’ll see how it goes. Burrow has the toughness and ability and mental acuity to be a very good long-term quarterback
