Like I said can't be any worse than what we have on the roster currently, as long as he isn't looking for big money
I don't understand the strategy of trading up from 22 to 7. If we're so against overspending our cash, why would we overspend on our picks by making a drastic move up like that? That's the only way we can get cheap talent when there's obviously a lot of money to go around right now. That doesn't make much sense to me at all. I find it hard to believe we would consider that. Just sit easy and draft the best player available at our spot I hope.
It wouldn't shock we if we trade up. If you look at how we approached FA, there really isn't a glowing need now. If we go up (probably a lot less far than into the top 10) to get someone we love that slips a little,I think it is reasonable.
It's reasonable but I don't know that, despite some of the additions that have been nice, that we've definitely addressed a lot of our needs. Timmons I would be pumped about if this was 2012. But at this point in his career who knows what we get out of him and he's likely a band-aid. He's an upgrade from our LBs last season but it's almost impossible to downgrade. Only one real LB I can see starting for us in 3 years is Alonso. No clue how Tunsil will do at LT but I'm certainly optimistic. Larsen at G, decent on paper, but nothing that wows. I'm not real sure our OL is improved from last season. But everything else on O is nice...the TE additions were very nice. Resigning Stills is a good thing for sure. Done nothing to fix the secondary and IMO Allen is a downgrade from Isa. That's a big concern. DE the Hayes trade was great but he's only here for a year and I guess I'm somewhat happy with resigning Branch which we really had no other choice. Would love to have another pass-rush option outside of an aging Wake. I think there's still glowing long-term needs at G, MLB, OLB, DE, DT, and all kinds of secondary help especially at S and CB to replace Maxwell who we are likely cutting in a year or two. I would say that's a lot of holes, JMO. I wouldn't disagree with a tad move-up for a player we loved though, but that article suggesting we may move from 22 to 7...I just don't see any way we would.
we just signed alonso to 4 year deal worth 28.8 mill, maybe didnt have enough money for brown after that absolutely agree, do not want to trade up
UPDATE: A source confirmed that Misi has restructured his contract in the past couple of days, a source confirmed to The Miami Herald. (WINZ’s Andy Slater reported this earlier this morning.) The new terms are not yet available, but he was due to make $4.1 million with a cap hit of $4.8 million. I’m told Misi’s restructure does not mean that Miami is out on Zach Brown. If Brown is interested in coming on Miami’s terms, the Dolphins would have interest. Also, Misi must be medically cleared after neck surgery. His representation expects him to be cleared in May. Misi, 30, was limited to three games last season because of the neck injury. From 2012 through 2015, he missed two, one, five and three games in each of those seasons. Dolphins have offered 4 mill to zack brown, he countered with 6 mill lets offer 4.75 and see if he bites
I wouldn't be too upset with this PICK 22 Forrest Lamp - G, Western Kentucky Ryan Tannehill and Jay Ajayi will appreciate Lamp's tenacity inside. 54. Dolphins: Carl Lawson, OLB, Auburn 97. Dolphins: Daeshon Hall, DE, Texas A&M 166. Dolphins: Delano Hill, S, Michigan 178. Dolphins: Brendan Langley, CB, Lamar 184. Dolphins: Ryan Switzer, WR, North Carolina
Really starting to see what Armando has been preaching all along about there likely being 1st round talent at CB available in rd 2 and 3
Alabama players were asked about the best lineman theyd seen, and almost all of them said the dude from WKU. If we did happen to take a G, he seems like he'd be a good one. I'd like Lawson, too.
Never in favor of taking a G that high. JMO. Would rather have a more premium position early. You should be able to get quality guards later in the draft. The way Gase talks, the kind of guards he likes seem to be easy to find and are kinda "system" guys Not real pumped about Lawson in the first. After Dion Jordan I'd just like a guy that's consistently on the field. GM Leonard Out!
I think you can play these games all day, but the way I’d look at the Dion Jordan disaster for Miami is this: Before the 2013 draft, Miami held the 12th and 42nd overall picks in the first two rounds. GM Jeff Ireland traded 12 and 42 to move up to three. With the third overall pick, the Dolphins selected pass-rusher Dion Jordan of Oregon. On Friday, Miami released Jordan, who played 26 NFL games in the four Miami seasons since the draft, and had as many substance suspensions (three) as career sacks. This was a flop of colossal proportions, one of the biggest busts of this century. Here’s what has to hurt worse: Miami didn’t use one high pick on Jordan; it used two. And in slots 12 and 42, the Dolphins could have selected defensive tackle Kawann Short or cornerback Xavier Rhodes with the first pick, and Le’Veon Bell with the second one. That is the kind of decision that can set a franchise back years.
