We’ve scored 21+ points in 8 consecutive games this season longest stretch since the end of 2001 and beginning of 2002 longest stretch in 1 season since 1984 Chan
When the game is in doubt or just early I’ve loved the playcaling and the options they give tua to misdirect defenses. I just hate we don't do it all game. After it was all said..it was still a one score game and it had no reason to be. The fumble hurt but could have done a better job of putting it away in the 3rd without being so scared. Just play the game.
I hate calling that a 1 score game. Chargers scored with under 2 min left and zero timeouts. That was a comfortable win by any metric
Also it happened against Arizona too. They were a horrific FG attempt away from that being a one score game when it had no business being in doubt either.
I think Grier deserves a lot of credit. Other than Jones who has been solid but banged up and kinda Van Noy, we seemed to (smartly) have gone for more bargain/mid range salary guys this offseason. Looking at it now, it seems like mostly all of those have hit. Or at least we haven't had any flops with our additions. Nothing world beating, but nice contributions from Jones, Van Noy, Flowers, Karras, Ogbah, and Lawson. I still feel like the jury is out on Austin Jackson (unrealistic to expect a world beater in year 1- we knew it would take some time), but the rookies have made solid contributions as well with the exception of Iggy. Some nice performances by depth guys like Van Ginkel, Hunt, and Brandon Jones too. Grier did some really solid work this past offseason and I like his overall patient approach to building the roster. Seems like a very sharp guy and that we are in good hands.
J Howard is the big FA miss but even that is minor. We can cut him at almost no expense after the season.
Jordan Howard was the oh shit, we missed on everyone in the draft and Fournette signed with with the Bucs signing. All it cost was cap space in 2020. The big miss so far is Iggy. Guy is only playing special teams at this point which is really bad for a 1st round pick.
Yeah I mean by any measure Noah had been disappointing to date. But we currently have 6 2020 draft picks that are fairly major contributors on a 6-3 team. Four out the the first Five picks are getting a lot of playing time. Even if Iggy ends up being a total flop it'll just be a "can't hit em all" thing.
I was pretty skeptical about the Davis pick simply because some Bama people I know seemed to think he was a perpetual underachiever. Glad to see him playing well.
This is what he was at Bama though. Good run stopper, not a lot of pass rush. But we need some run stoppers.
With the latest updated draft order, my hopes for the picks are some combination of: Waddle Wyatt Davis Najee Probably an LB/DE
I'd still like an elite pass rusher with that top 10 pick from the texans, because its nice that this team can scheme pressure on 3rd down, but having a guy that can get to the QB at will unless double teamed absolutely wrecks shit.
I agree. If Waddle is there, I think we got to take him bc I think he totally changes the offense and brings a home run threat that we just don't have... but if he's gone, then yeah a great pass rusher certainly helps and would be my second choice. Chase and Smith would be very tempting as well though...
