That speed option with Breida is an interesting wrinkle
Feel like I’m seeing double
Post game comments were even better. He did it to FaceTime his parents from where his drive ended.
Brother just sent me this - seems like a weird decision
I'm genuinely shocked.
Also fully erect.
Had to have been the plan from the jump with the bye coming up
Wish the bye wasn’t before playing Aaron Donald haha but
I don't think Flores and the staff were under any pressure to play Tua soon considering how well the team has played as of late. So I like to think that they are making the switch because they really believe Tua is fully ready for it and better than Fitzpatrick.
Also I think he would have started vs. the Jets had the league not changed the schedule of the Jets game 9 days ago. Too late to change the starter for that game at that point
How good is your line?
I wish he would've played more than 3 snaps or whatever on Sunday if this was the plan.
Improved over last year but probably average at best and young. We do seem to have some promising young guys though.
SO MANY EMOTIONS.
I think this is gutsy and awesome. If you feel the offense is ready to get better, then you do it. You don't just let wins and losses get in the way especially against the horrifically bad Jets and you don't always need to wait to lose before making a move. Plus I agree the fact it's going into the bye makes me feel this was always the secret plan.
haha... "Aaron Donald" is what is trending
Having your first start against the best defensive lineman of this generation and a rookie playing guard is not ideal but if he's ready he's ready.
It’s a natural decision to start the rookie after the bye week. It’s a rough first opponent, but he needs as many games as possible.
I think this is possibly the worst decision you all could make. I also think this decision is being made because my Bills and the Patriots are looking like shit and they think the division is for the taking. If the Pats were 4-2 and Bills 5-1, I don’t think this decision is made.
I thought Tua was so fortunate to have a great mentor and serviceable QB in front of him to learn for an entire year. I am such a firm believer that a rookie QB should sit on the bench for a year and learn and that Tua has that opportunity.
There's certainly merit to the idea of not rushing a QB because of draft status. But I'm also a believer that some guys are just ready and at some point just need to play to further their development. I haven't seen the practices so I can't definitively say Tua is ready, but I actually trust this staff to make competent decisions.
Fitz has been such a good signing and you can see he loves to play so I know this is tough for him. But this is why everyone loves him:
Luckily no one cares what you think
I disagree for one big reason. The way QB contracts are structured, teams essentially have 5 years before they either need to start over or blow too much cap space on re-signing their QB. The Fins need Tua to go through his growing pains sooner rather than later in order to maximize the 5 year window. Yes, Fitz has played pretty well so far and the AFC East is firmly up for grabs, but this year is still a rebuilding year and getting Tua as many snaps as possible is extremely important. And while nobody wants to acknowledge it, if Tua shows hes Josh Rosen 2.0 and you have a shot to get Trevor Lawrence, you have to make that decision. You can't make that call unless you've seen Tua play and play a lot. The only reason not to play him is if his hip isn't 100%. That's not the case, so it's time for him to play.
As shit of luck y’all have had over the last couple years, I don’t think you could have asked for a better situation in having a guy like Fitz mentor Tua.
Initially I was skeptical, but after thinking about it I’m for it. Obviously he’s the future and I’d prefer him to get some game experience and chemistry with the team ahead of him taking over from game 1 next year.
He either takes his lumps this year and maybe we get a higher draft pick or he does well and maybe we sneak into the playoffs who knows? But if he does relatively well this year, expectations are going to be sky high next year.
I figure throw him to the wolves and see how he does with a good number of games left. Very worst case he’s such an absolute disaster that they can consider drafting another QB high.
I love you too
Exactly. Now he gets a 10 game sample to show what he's got. At bare minimum you get a solid idea of what you have going forward and can plan accordingly.
Josh Allen now #3 QB in AFC east
I didn't buy this tua jersey to watch Ryan Fitzpatrick on Sundays. And now that UCF's season doesn't matter (moreso) I can shift my attention from Saturdays to Sundays.
I'm thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis close to just becoming a Dolphins fan. I'll watch more of your games than I do the Jags the next few years.
our colors look great on shoes if that helps
G probably has 50+ shoes now. She's 3. Of all the pairs she's had, this was by far her favorite. My wife HATED them but G would pitch a fit to wear them. She loved them so much she wore them when they were a full 2 sizes too big. She just outgrew them. Need to track down a new pair.
Yea I'd wear those.
Not sure they made them in adults but they are super dope for kids. It's basically a Deion Sanders shoe from back in the air. Speed Turf vs Diamond Turf.
I have these as my gameday shoes (which I know I shared before) but always considered doing a custom nike pair just never settled on which base.
Air Max 1. Always Air Max 1.
We gotta go retro jerseys in 2 weeks right?
Will gladly take these off your hands for my soon to be born daughter who will be clothed in aqua and orange on Sundays.
