Just so bad. I know it’s not a popular opinion but at this point lose the rest of the games, get rid of older big contracts, be bad for a couple years and build an actual roster
I don't think that's an unpopular opinion at all, honestly. Its pretty obvious this roster as constructed isn't going to win anything relevant.
This season is why I wanted us to go QB in the last draft. Fitz is nice but where does it leave us? Need a qb going into next year and no great way to get one
We most likely weren't winning this game regardless, but that FG is just awful. The difference between a FG and a turnover is next to nothing. The difference between those two options and a TD is huge. I just don't get it.
Need to blow it up for real. Tannenbaum on down. We are never going to get right with these patchwork, win-now, vet heavy teams.
Alonso, Reshad Jones, TJ McDonald, Amendola, Cam Wake, doubt anybody would give up anything for Frank Gore but sniff around even though I love him in a Dolphins jersey All of these guys should be traded but now its too late before the deadline and none of them will
Him catching that 3rd and 3 pass and running east/west and not north/south to get the first was infuriating He honestly looks scared
I think we have to hold onto him. I don't see any way we get much for him- maybe a 4-6 rounder? I say see what we have in him for the rest of the year. If he plays well, maybe we can resign him to a longer term deal at a good number. I can't see teams really wanting to break the bank for him but you never know. We could keep him at 9.3mm for one more year too, just looking at the WR market the past few year that's probably in the range of what we'd have to give him to keep him (prob 8-10 a year). If he doesn't play well the rest of the season or we can't find a price we agree on, I think we can let him walk and possibly get a comp pick roughly around the area we would have gotten via a trade right now. That depends on how big of a contract he might leave for and how much we sign in free agency, though. Just from a personal standpoint, I'd like to see what he can do the rest of the year...Jakeem Grant as well.
Honestly, he's off the scrap heap...but I'd like to see more of O'Leary too. He did more in one game that Gesicki has done all season. And he can actually block a little. O'Leary actually played 74% of the TE snaps to Gesicki's 26% but wasn't ever targeted. First of all, that pretty much means if Gesicki is in the game, as a defense you KNOW it's going to be a pass. Secondly I'd like to see O'Leary actually get a few looks in the passing game because he may be able to actually run a route. Likely just a blocking TE like Fasano was, though.
