Yeah Armando is a smug dipshit but I don’t hate his suggestion that we draft a qb every year. Wouldn’t mind taking a flier on a guy in 5th round or later on a yearly basis, assuming we haven’t drafted a top one already.
I understand the sentiment, but to me that idea just isn't realistic. You're seldom going to roster more than 2 QBs. 3 max. Late round guys are almost always a project, hence why they are late round picks. If you're just drafting QBs and cutting last year's project every season then you aren't giving them a shot to develop into anything.
I think I'm of the opinion that this off-season we need to sign a serviceable QB, maybe try salvage Winston, and either try trade up for Herbert or stand pat and draft the best DL available. The draft is very deep at DL and we should be able to grab a very good one where we pick. The other QBs that are potentially first rounders don't impress me. I'd rather take a flyer on a QB with potential late in the draft than invest a first into a question mark. In the scenario where we can't nab Herbert, next year figures to be much better for first round QBs. Foles or Winston or someone else can tide us ous over until then.
I was thinking this as well. Give a guy a whole season to do something in practice/scrimmages then decide quickly. I just want to find a qb instead of settling on mediocrity.
Think it’s a great idea, with a different front office But you draft one every year you are bound to eventually find one....I hope
No time. And if they did it would be like that game on Monday night against Pitt where the field was so bad players were scared to do more then jog on it for fear of tearing an acl
I'll never forget the punt where the football just landed and stuck in the ground like a javelin. No bounce or roll or anything. Absolute shit show of a game.
Oh look another talented dolphin during the gase era who suddenly has issues and doesn't want to play for the team.
This really needs to be talked about more.... goes way beyond gase needing to "change the culture" at this point....
Today is the first time I can recall missing a Fins game that I didn't have to miss. I was kinda over the football weekend after the Canes last night and had a poker game come up and thought "fuck it, I love cards and do I really want to miss that to watch Brock Osweiller play QB?" Judging by what I've read I think I made a good decision.
it was one of the most boring games i've seen we won a football game in which we made 7 first downs. pretty remarkable
Jets are very bad, we are just a little less bad I dont remember who it was last week but it was a pretty formidable NFL insider say he believes the Dolphins were one of the worst 4-4 teams after 8 games that hes ever seen in the NFL
After using my extensive scouting skills to watch Drew Luck make my college team look like a pee wee team...I'm warming up to him being our pick and having tanny and his $29 mill cap hit hit the road
Between bullshit like this and his interviews...Gase comes off as such a POS Has to be one of the most unlikable coaches I’ve ever come across
this whole organization smells, from the top to the bottom. And I don't see It changing anytime soon. Front office, management, coaching staff, 75% of the players they all stink. Just so mediocre. With no hope of high draft picks either cause we still win enough to be outside the great players (even though I like minkah a lot)
To be fair, you have to consider the absurd amount of injuries we've had this year when you're talking about how bad this team is. Yesterday, off the top of my head, we were down: Starting QB 3 DL that were playing major snaps 4 starting OL McCain and Parker (shocker) missed a lot of the game. I mean, you just aren't going to win many games in that situation.
dudes been hurt like 30 of the last 34 games and is average even when he is on the field. Would I take him over Brock? of course but that isn't saying much, time to move on from him ASAP. That cap hit this offseason is a killer and he isn't worth It anyways, never plays
Agreed. It's pretty clear at this point we can't expect anything else from Tannehill. Given the binary of him and Osweiller though...yeah give me Tannehill. What QBs are figuring to be available this off-season? Foles I think. Should be able to snag a guy that's Tannehill caliber or maybe slightly better and no injury issues. Grab a guy in the draft to try develop.
How much more does Cousins make than Tannehill? I thought this time last year we should be "in" on Cousins just to see what it would be worth. Think how much better you would feel about this team if we had even an above average QB? Havent had one in 20 years
damn it, so Cousins is making 22.5 mill this year while always hurt makes 18.7. So with the money from cutting Ndamakong and cutting Tanny's ass we would of had MORE than enough and still enough to sign albert Wilson last offseason. Wtf
