I read in some ESPN article today that they projected it’s take something like Tua, 2 firsts, a second, a third, and a fourth for Watson and a fourth. May have been more than that. 4 picks in top ~100, a fourth, and Tua who was the #5 pick.... nobody is worth that imo
I'm not a Tua fan and wasn't on board with drafting him in the first place (happy to eat crow next year), but there is no way in hell we should do that.
I'm not gonna be pissed if they don't end up with Watson, but if you can fast forward and know for sure you are getting an elite QB, you do it.
so basically they want to make sure you can’t build a team around Watson if you do land him. Yea, hard pass.
https://phinphanatic.com/2021/01/29...mock-draft-build-around-tua-tagovailoa/amp/2/ Don’t completely hate this
https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/st...ost-productive-2020-rookie-draft-classes-1-32 PFF/ESPN ranked our draft class last year 28th in the league It will get better when Tua improves, maybe some of the OL get better like Hunt and Kindley who showed flashes. But honestly only Raekwon was a standout as a rookie, and our rookies played more snaps than any other draft class. Way too early to be saying this, but just being a crazy fan, I just don't have a ton of hope for Austin Jackson or Noah Iggy. Hope I'm wrong!
PFF sucks They had Kindley as like our worst OL after a game when I saw him mauling people and opening up holes everywhere
I mean it is former NFL scouting people that run it and a lot of teams use and look at their analysis. It's just one tool though, not the gospel. I just find it a little funny that when they rate X the #2 CB in the game, it's great to our fans. But if they say our rookie OL didn't play that well, then they suck.
that’s how this works you want to toss praise our way we will graciously accept you want to throw shade you can fuck right off
Yeah I think people get too lost in the numbers...and fail to realize the actual grades are being given by somebody from their staff on a completely judgmental basis. Could they be using an intern who hates or loves your team? Sure. Want to use their grades as the holy grail of player comparison? Why not I really can’t believe how popular PFF has gotten, when there are really no actual metrics behind it.
▪ Though there has been speculation linking Buffalo Bills quarterbacks coach and former Miami Hurricanes great Ken Dorsey to the Dolphins, Miami reportedly has not reached out to him about its vacant offensive coordinator job. According to a Dorsey associate, he would love the opportunity to be an offensive coordinator in the city where he led UM to a national championship.
I don't want to mortgage everything and I also don't want him in the division. That's not a stretch Barry. I swear the media here....
Depends on the definition of “starter”. Ex. X would fetch a 1st round pick + on the open market, but Bobby McCain wouldn’t go for a 3rd. We will see what a trade ends up being, but these valuations are starting to spiral out of control.
That’s what I mean, while Watson is obviously amazing, there is definitely still such a thing as a back breaking price
The Stafford deal just goes to show why a guy like Watson is his prime is never traded. Just no way you're ever gonna find a team to give you full value.
what a lazy OC hire. How tf will co-coordinators work? hope it works but someone tell me why I should believe it will.
Pretty sure other teams do this, they just call one the passing game coordinator, the other the running game coordinator.
Other teams that have offensive HCs that make the play calls- like the 49ers. What teams do this with a defensive HC or a head coach who has never called plays? Who will be calling the plays for us?
Devonta said recently he was the best CB he's gone up against. So I guess I have to go back to thinking maybe he's not trash now, which is nice
his staff hires have mostly been ass on the surface but other than Gailey it seems to have worked out for him
I have no issue with Donald winning but I absolutely have an issue with Watt getting 20 votes to X's 3. If you're gonna vote for a pass rusher how the fuck is it not Donald?
What do y'all think of the newest McShay mock? Has me giddy haha. We would trade back to 8, pick up a 2021 2nd rounder from Carolina and a 2022 first, while still landing my boy Waddle. I think that is the absolute best outcome. We get the playmaker we all want, plus if Tua doesn't improve, that Carolina pick is probably top 5 next year while they break in a new QB. Basically it helps the offense while giving us Tua insurance, or the ability to grab another top draft pick when he inevitably balls out in year 2. Sounds pretty great to me
Think the Carolina/Miami trade probably is going to happen at some point if I had to guess just makes too much sense
I just can’t see QBs going 1-4 but I’d be good with that trade from the panthers. Let the rest of the chops fall where they may. I don’t see that pick being top 5 because I doubt Mcaffrey is hurt all year
From PFF MIAMI DOLPHINS Projected cap space: $27.7 million Soon-to-be unrestricted free agents: QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, C Ted Karras Potential cuts: S Bobby McCain (saves $5.7 million in 2021) Team needs: iOL, WR, DL Players to target/prioritize to re-sign: WR Allen Robinson II, C Corey Linsley, QB Ryan Fitzpatrick Miami is likely to be one of the many teams in the hunt for a wide receiver available such as Robinson, but they should also be looking to upgrade a bit on the offensive line and to retain Ryan Fitzpatrick (assuming they don’t trade for Deshaun Watson). The Dolphins trotted out a young set of offensive linemen in 2020, and they were marginally better than in 2019. Miami’s offensive line went from the lowest-graded group in 2019 to the fifth-lowest-graded in 2020. Center is likely to be the only position they consider addressing and the highest-graded center from the 2020 season, Corey Linsley, just so happens to be a free agent. Over the course of his seven years at the NFL-level, Linsley has generated the sixth-best PFF grade at the position
