im talking about the 8 down to 13 move which would of been a high 3rd round pick value
wouldn't even give them only a 4th. however:

Still a good chance that Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso land with Dolphins, I'm told. But a lot of moving pieces (comp, contract) involved.
might work out in our favor if we give the eagles less than what was initially agreed upon
I wouldn't be upset if we got out of this totally, but if we don't I hope we leverage all this for better terms.
If what we initially agreed upon turn out to actually be switching 1sts and giving them a 4th, I hope one of you living in Miami sets fire to the front office.
The issue is, what other options are there in FA at the position?
Patrick Robinson, Jerraun Powers, Adam Jones, Leon Hall, Casey Hayward, Prince Amukamara.
Could have gone after Leodis McKelvin and Janoris Jenkins too if we weren't tied up in this mess.

Dolphins expected to cut Brent Grimes for "personal reasons" (aka his wife) according to @JeffDarlington on @SiriusXMNFL.
Adam Beasley @AdamHBeasley 33s34 seconds ago
With Vernon and (likely) Grimes off the books, the Dolphins will have more than $40 million in cap space. They need every penny.
Hard for me to grasp that we could have $48m in space if we didn't sign Mario Williams, but somehow can't get a long term deal done with OV.
Joel Corry @corryjoel 3m3 minutes ago
I had Olivier Vernon's target/asking price at $15.5M per year with $50M in guarantees.
According to @JeffDarlington on the NFL Network, Jaguars were ready to offer Vernon a front-loaded contract so Dolphins couldn't match.
Agent @AlvinKeels tweets that the Dolphins have cleared CB Byron Maxwell. Trade should be back on.
god damn it

Schefter also confirms on TV that it's a first round pick swap for the Dolphins and Eagles. Dolphins move from 8 to 13
Man that's horrible

Dolphins looking at Ragland and Apple at #13 in Rd 1 now
The Dolphins-Eagles trade reportedly consists of a swap of 1st rd picks. Miami moves down 5 spots, loses 250 pts in value (equals a high 3rd)
That first round swap is so bad
Essentially a 3rd rounder for an injury riddled one year rental LB and a CB who is mediocre at best when healthy, but now can't do a push-up
I hope you're fucking with me. So move back in a trade in which we get a MLB and a CB, and still feel the need to draft one of those 2 positions with a 1st? That's fucking rich.
Adam Beasley @AdamHBeasley 39s40 seconds ago
If, as assumed, the Dolphins cut Grimes, they will have roughly $25 million in cap space when the trade is completed, including Mario.
Is this deal somehow also costing us $15m?
ESPN grading the Free Agents so far
Mario Williams (Dolphins): C
It's hard to figure out the Dolphins, who seem to stick their finger into the socket, get shocked, and wonder how many of their other fingers can fit inside. Miami's top-heavy, stars-and-replacement talent roster philosophy hasn't worked for years, but instead of getting away from the tactic, the Dolphins are doubling down in 2016, swapping out stars for slightly younger stars. Brent Grimes is likely to leave once the Dolphins confirm their deal for Eagles cornerback Byron Maxwell, while the injured Cameron Wake (and/or the transition tagged-Olivier Vernon) might very well be dumped for Williams, who inked a two-year, $17-million deal to come to Miami.
The Dolphins didn't have many other options available, especially once Jason Pierre-Paul agreed to return to New York on a one-year deal, but Williams is 31 and was just run out of Buffalo amidst a cloud of anonymous sources saying derogatory things about Williams's effort level. Would they have been better off locking up Vernon, who is just 25 and had 36 quarterback knockdowns to Williams's 11 in 2015? Or using the money saved by cutting Wake to add much-needed depth around the roster? Do these sorts of questions ever even enter into Miami's thinking during the offseason? Williams should be better as a 4-3 defensive end than he was dropping off the line of scrimmage at times as a 3-4 outside linebacker for Rex Ryan last year, but this is another step in a tired, unsuccessful roster-building model for the Dolphins.
Not like the Eagles were desperate to move Chip's bad contracts.
Geoff Mosher @GeoffMosherNFL 7m7 minutes ago
I'm hearing #Eagles deal that sent DeMarco Murray to TEN involves teams swapping 4th round picks. Would move Eagles to top of 4th round.
Dolphins management has been clueless for years. Definition of mediocrity with some of the moves they make. I don't understand it.
Just trying to give you guys a pep talk

Former 49ers guard Alex Boone is signing with the Minnesota Vikings, per source.
With the way this day has gone, this seems like the next logical step:
This front office is unreal. We don't draft well, and when we do actually hit on a few players, we let them walk after their rookie deal. Someone pointed this out yesterday- but we have let Venon, Sean Smith, Vontae Davis, Lamar Miller, Charles Clay, and Odrick all walk the past 5 years or so. Only guys we have kept are Tanny, R. Jones, and Pouncey.
The great organizations like GB/NE etc. draft a lot better than us, but when they hit on a pick their take care of their own and resign their core players. They let their second-tier players walk and get overpaid by dumbass teams like Miami and Cleveland and get comp picks for that. Meanwhile we spend all our cash on cast-offs that never workout. Who is the last FA we signed that worked out? Grimes kinda, Suh is a good player but at what cost? Littered with Mike Wallaces, Wheelers, Ellerbes, and now these Eagles bums. Sad that I think we finally have a coach worth a damn but our front office continues to make the same mistakes year after year

Continue getting older
Actually don't hate that on a short term deal
OV to the jags 4 yrs 75 mill
Pretty sure that was fake, and ESPN got burned too.
yeah Shefter came on ESPN and reported it and everything
top notch organization there.
Texans are giving Lamar Miller a 4-year, $26 million deal that includes $14 million fully guaranteed, per source. Had more elsewhere.
Good for Lamar. Gonna end up with 2 thirds for losing Lamar and OV this offseason.
Forte to the Jets for those that weren't too excited about getting older at the position
The #Rams are closing in on a deal to keep DE William Hayes, source said. That's a key piece.
Alabama CB Cyrus Jones had on-campus interviews w/ #Dolphins #Saints #Lions #Patriots #Browns Tuesday.
Dolphins' preference is to have run-stuffing DE paired opposite Mario Williams, with Wake as pass-rush specialist.Might be hard to achieve.
Boone the OG we wanted heading to minny
So the Dolphins striking out in FA. Sounds familiar

Isa Abdul-Qudddus has started 16 games in five NFL seasons. Two career INTs, none last 3 yrs. but he's more a box defender.
Adam Beasley @AdamHBeasley 13s14 seconds ago
Abdul-Quddus was the Dolphins' second option. They wanted George Iloka, but Cincinnati simply priced them out. He got $6M per.
never heard of him
$4.25m a year for a guy that has started 16 games in 5 season huh?

For Olivier Vernon and the #Giants, I'm told it's the biggest defensive end deal in history with the most guaranteed money
Rand GetlinVerified account@Rand_Getlin
I'm told DE Oliver Vernon earned a five-year deal worth $85M from the #Giants with $52.5 guaranteed. He is officially PAID.
