Don’t know how I feel about Moore but then again young up and coming OC’s has been a trend that’s work so fuck it let’s do it.
Didn't realize Daboll was close with Ross. Also, I'm assuming Boyer would be DC? They overlapped in NE so I doubt there'd be an issue there
If he’s got his shit together, yeah I would. Top 10 WR in his prime. But no idea what’s going on with him off the field. only problem with that is he’s a free agent I think right? You’d have to pay him big money and I want that going to the OL first. But if we can fix that and still make it work I’m down.
I wouldn’t. That was the only hire on our board that was an upgrade over Flores. Clowned once again. This time by the shitty giants
I guess I’m all aboard the Moore train I guess. At least he’s called plays. When do we expect a decision?
what about my post indicated that I wasn’t aware of that? McDaniel has never called plays, I think that would be a horrible hire. He’s just not ready imo. But we will probably hire him I’m sure
I have no idea is McDaniel will be a good HC or not but I'm confident that if he's not it won't be because he didn't call plays in SF. Your HC doesn't have to call plays on either side of the ball and lots of great HCs haven't.
imagine being pissed about hiring a coach with a 44-19 nfl record with 2x conference title game appearances and a super bowl appearance I’ll believe something good happens to the dolphins when I see it but getting a guy like that is absolutely the best case scenario and a homerun
John Harbaugh was a ST coordinator. I don't think Jim Harbaugh called plays in SF. Tomlin doesn't call plays I don't think. Belichick often doesn't (Flores called the defensive plays mostly hos last year in NE), Cowher didn't, Andy Reid should probably call less plays and think about game management more, ect
I guess I don't really see how this applies to Harbaugh any more than anyone else you'd hire. I read some Minny sites on Twitter talking about how Harbaugh was the biggest boom/bust candidate out of a group of O'Connell, Morris and Ryans, and it just confuses the hell out of me. It's weird that I feel like I have to try to talk people into wanting a coach I don't want to leave my team, but Google the situations Harbaugh took over at Stanford, SF and Michigan. All of them were dumpster fires on par with or worse than the Dolphins under Ross. And the closest thing to failure/disaster he's had is only averaging 10 wins per season at UM (if you take out the COVID year) and running a top 10ish program in the country instead of a top 5 program. I don't see how someone with that track record is somehow more risky than 33-year-old Kellen Moore or 38-year-old Mike McDaniel in their first HC job. Those other coaches are significantly bigger risks than Jim to everyone but Chris Grier because Jim has the clout to send him packing while the others don't.
Completely agree. It would be the first time we had coach with proven NFL success since... Jimmy Johnson? Aka the last time we were relevant. I think McDaniel in particular would be a Philbin 2.0 but that's neither here nor there. The level of risk involved just isn't comparable... if Harbaugh wants it, it's a no brainer home run hire.
I’m not harbaugh expert but can’t be a prickly guy? Or is he just weird? after Gase and Flores a guy with a personality just feels refreshing
