maybe we will get a gm that will actually give a shit about the interior OL. We haven't been able to convert short yardage in years
Tua has been fine. Not his best but fine. Most of his throws have been accurate. Just way too many drive breaking plays by the offense in general in he first half
You can ask for DPI if you want (he got there early yes) but the dolphins continue to not know how to gain a yard when they need a yard
two plays for the season from the 2 yd line and we’ve gotta try to galaxy brain our way into the endzone because we built a soft ass team.
You aren’t wrong, but an obvious penalty is an obvious penalty. Especially when they follow it up with that on Ramsey
grier’s obviously gotta go, but if the new gm wants to bring in his own coach i wouldn’t even be mad.
I’d like to see McDaniel have a chance with a competent OL/roster. Can’t deny he vastly improved the style of the team from where he started.
Yeah but honestly mcdaniels coaching has been pretty suspect agansit good teams.. prime example is every time we’ve played the bills except the heat game in Miami where they just melted and ran out of gas
I think it has more to do with the roster. When we play good teams our roster isn’t good enough. Especially up front.
No doubt this is another embarrassing lost. We’ve been doing this every time since the roster rebuild through two coaches. The GM is the problem and needs to be replaceed tomorrow preferably
Taking his son’s best friend instead of Tyreke Stevenson set this team back 2+ years in the secondary.
the style’s improved. the results have been the same with a crazy expensive roster. and mcdaniel doesn’t get a pass on the roster either this team is constructed to his specifications. his whole deal when he got hired was that he’s a run game wiz. we’re in year 3 now and we still can’t run the ball when we need it. every time we play a team w/ a pulse, we look undisciplined, unprepared and soft. i’m not banging the table to move on, but i wouldn’t blame a new gm if they look at the last three years and decided to bring in their own guy.
Some things to consider. it was a Thursday night road game. Road teams historically lose these games at a very high clip as long as the home team is competent. this game started as terribly as humanly possible. Inches away from a first and goal on the first drive and 2 minutes later you muff a punt to give up a 1st and goal. Thats not being a soft team. It’s bad luck. then we get the ball and are absolutely sloppy with penalties. But then a 3rd and short becomes 3rd and 19 because Tua gets knocked in the head well after the play, Jonnu gets shoved, pushes back, then gets shoved again and the only flag is on the fins. defense goes out, lays an egg and it’s 14-0 on the road at night. Snowballs from there. This team is soft and the defense absolutely laid an egg, but they aren’t that far off. Circumstance, and some really bad officiating early put them in a hole they never recovered from. defense was fucking trash last night.
Id say then there’s a gulf between “Giving the gm those specifications” and “A team built to the specifications by the gm”
I just want to actually invest in the interior OL so that we can convert short yardage situations for the first time in like 5 years. Is that too much to ask? It is really tiring that we can get like 400 yards of offense last night, against a good team, but can't ever get 1 yard when it really matters (even when using a fullback!). Give me a GM that can do that and can get us some physical players. Also we have zero secondary depth yet again. Fuller and Ramsey are a very good tandem but after that, the magic has worn off of Kohou and Poyer, Duck, Cam Smith and all the depth guys are pretty awful. Need a rebuild in the secondary, especially using day 3 picks for some decent depth.
