Just a theory but I think him getting healthier and hopefully bringing in a new DC that doesn't have him loving on an island 24/7 will extend his career. What they are asking X to do is pretty intense usually.
it is Mitch Morse, who suffered a single concussion this year. But he has a long history of them through his career and will likely be considering retirement due to them. But I am dying at six in one year
I would love to bring Juice back to Miami this off-season on a reasonable 1 year deal. He's older now of course and was banged up last year but hard to think of a more perfect compliment to Tyreek and Waddle.
He's been awful for a few years now. If he had a semblance of humility it would make sense, but I'd wager quite a bit that he still thinks of himself as a premier receiver in the NFL.
I guess because this seems unusual. Why wait? But we got him so it's all good. I don't blame out fans for being paranoid. As we all know, with the Dolphins, if it can go wrong, it will go wrong.
There’s certainly truth in what he’s saying. You’re masking the pain that your body needs to recover from.
guy just said he can't run or jump almost a year post surgery, keeping that cap hit around made no sense.
I want us to draft Darnell Washington so bad. I think he's perfect for McDaniel's scheme and what we are looking for in a TE, which plays a major role in Shanahan offenses. I will never forgive Ross for costing us that first round pick if we end up missing out on him. I think based on his combine work that we are probably not picking high enough to snag him
I’ll be honest. I don’t see it with him. He’s an OL who refuses to admit it to himself. He’s got the speed to play TE, but he can’t run routes for shit. There’s a reason UGA rarely threw him the ball. The comp I keep seeing is gronk. But gronk put up better stats his redshirt sophomore year than Washington did in his career.
Yeah he's gonna be a nice player to have but I would absolutely not use a first round pick on him. He's gonna be a guy that tops out around 300-400 yards. Gonna be a beast in the run game though. I wouldn't mind using our 2 on him but I won't be that upset of some other team takes him earlier. He's Mercedes Lewis with maybe a little less receiving chops but a bit better of a blocker.
This is exactly the comp I had. He's a guy that will be in the NFL for a very long time because he will likely be one of if not the best blocking TE in football, but I really don't see him ever becoming a true receiving threat.
He's definitely not Gronk. He's not that athletic. But we need better blocking on that right side of the line and I think he is far more like Kittle. A guy that loves to block first, isn't an athletic freak at the Gronk level but I think he's at or around the Kittle level. And gives you a huge target in the redzone that you don't have in Waddle and Hill. I think McDaniel wants to run the ball more like SF and he helps you do that while giving you upside in the passing game. But I totally agree he is not a Gronk, that's crazy.
Here is his combine results Not as fast or as good of a leaper as Kittle but damn he put up a good combine score: https://www.nfl.com/prospects/darnell-washington/32005741-5318-5860-3ee1-1aca1e440e91 So maybe I am overshooting him as a receiver with Kittle but I think he will be more of a threat there than Mercedes Lewis. But he will 100% bring the physicality to the run game that I think McDaniel looks for. Tua also likes that big bodies near the goalline and if he can improve the run game drastically and be a threat in that area, I think that's a big addition to the O.
his college stats compare a lot more with kittle, with the difference being that Kittle was a 5th round pick. Personally, I think it's a bit much to take a blocking TE in the 2nd round, especially when this team has bigger needs at DB, OL, RB, and LB.
See I just view him as more than just a blocking TE. He's not Smythe, for example. I think he has far more ability that that. I also think TE is a huge piece in this particular offense, and certainly improve the run game and protecting our injury-prone QB is a priority. I guess I think that is very much worth a top 50 pick, jmo. I do agree we have holes but thanks to Ross' dumb ass we may not be able to get it all in one draft. I won't complain if we went CB or something with that first pick but I think Washington is worthy. You have to also factor in that his college stats aren't going to wow anyone because he played opposite of one of the best college TEs in the last 20 years, imo. I think Bowers is an absolute stud.
Ehhhh. As good as he was, he’s always hurt now. If he’s cheap asset wise, great. But he’s a mid tier RB at this point imo.
I can't believe people wasted ink pretending to wonder if Miami would pick up Tuas $23M option when Daniel Jones just got $40M/yr
