Oh I agree. He's not near good enough to keep at that salary in a rebuild
eat some salary on that contract and get a good pick. please. just one time do something good in the trade market.
I still can’t believe we hired a fucking Patriots coordinator
I’m still 50% sure that we are going to be left at the altar like the colts were last year.
13. Miami Dolphins: Montez Sweat, DE, Mississippi State
Sweat is one of the biggest risers from Senior Bowl week—he had several great days of practice and impressed teams with his interviews. The feeling I got from talking to several scouts is that Sweat’s production on the field outweighs that question about his character—Sweat was dismissed from Michigan State in 2016 after being suspended for undisclosed reasons for the majority of the ’15 season—and his interviews at the Senior Bowl helped him in that regard.
13. Miami Dolphins
Clelin Ferrell, DE, Clemson. Ferrell was one of the stars of the best defensive line in college football, and he finished his junior season with 11.5 sacks and 20 tackles for loss. There may be questions about his flexibility compared to the other first-round pass rushers but there's no denying his Clemson production. In fact, on first downs during the 2018 season, Ferrell ranked among the top-10 players in the country in sacks (5), hurries (12), hits (10), knockdowns (5) and pressures (17)
Interesting that we just hired Clemson’s former DL coach
How many damn DE's have we blown picks on in the past few years? UGH
In the last 6 years, 2 1st rounders
plus a 4th round pick last year wasted on Robert Quinn who is going to be cut
and our best DE is about to turn 37 tomorrow and 2nd best DE is William Hayes who can't stay on the field
Name me a team that has been more horrific in the draft the last decade, only possibility is the browns and I could argue we have been worse
Uhh I believe after the browns shipped that DT off to the pats none of their 1st round draft picks from the last 5 years(before this one) were still on the roster, and those picks were all top 10
I agree we have been terrible but let’s not kid ourselves the browns have been the worst run organization in arguably all of sports
you are right, but the reality is that the dolphins have sunk to browns level.
1 good draft class isn’t going to cancel out the stench of their last 10
But i freely admit we are not far behind as one of the worst drafting NFL teams, but sterling A said he could argue we’ve been worse than them
i'm with you. we've been better. but not by much. At least they have been collecting picks over the last few years and have been able to take multiple shots at 1st round picks in multiple years. I would kill to have multiple first round picks in a draft.
"at the time"
we all knew Ted Ginn Jr. and Dion Jordan were horrendous picks, hell even kids and old women were laughing at both of these. And not only that but we traded up for Jordan (8.5 sacks in 6 years). Besides Mike Pouncey who never was on the field it seemed, weve had 3 "Pro Bowl Caliber" first round pick in 14 years (Ronnie Brown, Long, Tunsil)
2005 - Ronnie
2006 - Jason Allen lol
2007 - Ted Ginn jr lol
2008 - Jake Long
2009 - Vontae Davis (traded stupidly too soon)
2010 - Jared Odrick lol
2011 - Mike Pouncey …….
2012 - Tanny nothing but disappointment
2013 - Dion Jordan L O L
2014 - Ja'Wuan James decent starter but nothing special, and we probably wont resign him
2015 - DeVante Parker
2016 - Laremy Tunsil fell into our laps by a miracle video, nonetheless
2017 - Charles Harris lol
Maybe the browns are right up there with us or maybe worse, but this is absolutely horrendous. You want to feel total depression, go back to these drafts and see what our roster COULD and SHOULD of been if we drafted semi decent
2005 - Ronnie -Ronnie Brown over a top 5 QB of all time will always be awful.
2006 - Jason Allen- I saw the fins draft board during a HS tour a couple weeks after the draft, Saban had Allen as the #1 player on the board.
2007 - Ted Ginn jr lol- UGH but that whole draft was trash. Quinn was the obvious pick and...
2008 - Jake Long - Right pick, bad injury luck
2009 - Vontae Davis (traded stupidly too soon)-pick was good, trade was bad
2010 - Jared Odrick lol-passed on earl thomas and Dez Bryant who played positions of need
2011 - Mike Pouncey ……. not really a great draft anyway so, I'm fine with that pick.
2012 - Tanny nothing but disappointment. He would have been around in the 2nd round damnit.any of the four players picked after him would have filled big needs
2013 - Dion Jordan L O L-another pretty trash draft, but Lane Johnson and his needle would have been a much better pick.
2014 - Ja'Wuan James- Another guy who would have been around in the 2nd round.
2015 - DeVante Parker - This was the obvious pick to everyone. It just didn't work out.
2016 - Laremy Tunsil fell into our laps by a miracle video, nonetheless
2017 - Charles Harris- As soon as they said undersized and not very quick, I knew we were beyond fucked.
MAYBE the browns have been worse? You been living under a rock?
Browns 1st rounders in the same time frame:
2005: Braylon Edwards pick 3
2006: Kam Wimbley pick 13
2007: Joe Thomas pick 3
2007: Brady Quinn pick 22
2009: Alex Mack pick 21
2010: Joe Haden pick 10
2011: Phil Taylor pick 21
2012: Trent Richardson pick 3
2012: Brandon Weedon pick 22
2013: Barkevious Mingo pick 6
2014: Justin Gilbert pick 8
2014: Johnny Mansfield pick 22
2015: Danny Shelton pick 12
2015: Cam Erving pick 19
2016: Corey Coleman pick 15
2017: Myles Garrett pick 1
2017: jabrill peppers pick 25
2017: David Njoku pick pick 29
And I’m not even going to begin to talk about what guys they could have drafted in those spots
not defending the browns picks here, extremely bad for a long stretch. Even taking out the 2018 drafts, in the same time span they have actually drafted more pro bowlers since 2005 than the dolphins. If you stop getting all salty because of who you are talking to, you would realize what im trying to say. Dolphins and Browns both are terrible at drafting and no defense is needed. Sadly, they also sadly have a brighter future in the present
Do you have pro bowl next to Trent Richardson? What year was he in the pro bowl?
If we are going to criticize Miami for who we could have gotten in drafts the browns trump us big time in the “could have drafted” category
Im not saying he's going to definitely work out, but I don't buy the logic that just because a few guys left NE and didn't have success as a HC, nobody that leaves there will. It's a small sample size in a professional that has a very high failure rate to begin with. Plus, Bill O'Brien hasn't been terrible.
Hometown guy I guess...
A STA QB leading us to 0-17. Love it
I see all L’s at home with a toss up vs the bengals
Same on the road with a toss up being the Giants
So sick of playing the chargers
we keep finishing in the same spot in the division as them
Cut Kiko, Tanny (or hopefully trade him to Redskins ), Branch, Quinn
Trade Howard and Cam for draft picks
Wake is a FA
only player we should keep is Tunsil and build around him
And get rid of Minkah? The fuck?
that's not a rookie
Minkah, the 2 LB's, and Tunsil if you want to get specific
Where was anyone talking about rookies
can you stfu and talk about the team instead of arguing with everything someone says. You want to argue then send me a damn DM, this is the dolphins thread
who besides Minkah, Tunsil, McMillan, Baker, Wilson, Drake is worth keeping
I’m just going off our your statement
If this wasn’t what your mind was thinking....perhaps type out next time what your mind is actually thinking instead of getting upset that I’m responding to what you actually typed
Are my fellow dolfans coming around on this hire or no?
What’s are yalls thoughts?
Nobody really knows much at this point. Just that belichick's coordinators have sucked ass for the most part so not much confidence that hes "the one"
I stopped caring about any coaching hire at the time of the hire. We'll see when the games are played.
I’m more curious about this front office and the moves they make with this current roster/free agency/the draft then the staff right now as we are staring at a 2-5 win team next year
I agree- very curious about the staff, specifically OC, because I think it’s huge for a first year HC
First-time head coach will have a first-time OC.
0-32. Stack picks. Draft Lawrence.
But also have Dave Caldwell overseeing the offense...atleast that’s how it seems his role will be
