Yea i'd take that all day. Better than any QB you'll get in the 3rd round and minimal risk in the grand scheme.
So draft preferences? 1. Trade down which acquires picks in 2020. 2. Trade up for Nick Bosa because I'm a homer and he will be an absolute monster 3. More realistic pass rusher 4. IDK Something that won't disappoint me. Things I don't want 1. Any of the QB's not named Murray 2. an OL
1) hope Haskins or lock fall to 13 which leads to a team like Wash, Oakland or Giants trading up and us trading back for their first and more picks 2) Ed Oliver, Sweat or Ferrell or Jawaan Taylor 3) if we do trade back into the first I’m good with Jonah Williams or Simmons Don’t want Any QB’s
I’d be ok with Haskins if he fell. Big risk to hope you’re bad enough a year from now to get tua. No Jones though. Hoping for a trade back with giants, and then again with Texans, get all the picks. If we stay at 13, hope a top 10 talent guy falls to us- Oliver or white ideally
Absolutely I can see a team like the giants taking Taylor at 6 then trading that browns 1st rounder to us to get Haskins as well Would be a perfect scenario for us. Worst case scenario is an early run on QB’s however that would push an elite prospect to our range
and that really isn't that bad because this is a draft heavy on positions of need for the Fins. It's not like years past where it seems like the top of the draft is heavy on positions they don't need and the fins have to reach COUGHCHARLESHARRISCOUGH
This is pretty much exactly where I am. Murray isn't happening and Haskins is the only other QB I would consider in this draft. Rather have Tua than both. Even if we miss on Tua, my heart will be broken but I like Herbert or even Fromm more than guys like the Jones kid from Duke and Drew Locke. Just think it will be a much better QB draft next year. I think this draft and next years draft and free agency (where I think we will be active) is all about remaking the line of scrimmage. Give me all the OL and DL we can get.
What do y'all think about the Rosen thing? A third is the absolute most I would give to try it, nothing more. But it is intriguing. Not that much downside. Best case scenario is you have a franchise player at the most premier position in the sport for a 3rd round pick. Worst case is you burn a third round pick, but you do save money against the cap by having a capable backup QB on a rookie contact (we've seen w/ M. Moore those can be expensive) and a guy that will have at least some trade value. May only be able to flip him for like a fifth or sixth if we suck but we wouldn't have all that much invested in him. Assuming we can get him for something like a third, I wouldn't absolutely hate it. Still would be in favor of us drafting Tua if we can though, even if we did it. Which I guess is the major reason why you wouldn't... I don't see a scenario in which Rosen could perform well enough on this shit team that would make you NOT want to draft a QB very early next year. So if you're gonna draft a QB next year no matter what, why give away a third now? I think I talked myself into it and out of it in one post
A third should be an above average tier starter. I'd be happy as fuck getting Rosen for a 3rd. Would you trade Jerome Baker for Rosen? In a heartbeat.
I like Haskins honestly. I think OL at 13 does the least for me. Feel like if we can jump back and still get Bradbury, Ford, Lindstrom, or even Little. Hell, might be able to move back and get 2 of those guys instead of 1 at 13
Just for reference, this are need positions/possible picks and where they rank on PFF's draft board: Jonah Williams OT 4 Jeff Tillery DI 7 Jeff Simmons DI 8 (hurt) Greedy Williams CB 9 Ed Oliver DI 11 Devin White 12 Andre Dillard OT 13 Brian Burns Edge 14 Jawaan Taylor OT 15 Devin Bush LB 18 Dalton Risner OT 19 Cody Ford OT 22 Christian Wilkins DI 25 Elgton Jenkins C/G 26 Some rated quite a bit lower than most mocks: Dexter Lawrence DI 32 Clelin Ferrell Edge 35 Montez Sweat Edge 46 (this was a bit shocking) Garret Bradbury C 41 Rashan Gary DI 48 Josh Jacobs RB 60 I know I'm a PFF nerd, but PFF has been pretty good at predicting draft value.Lot of nice options at need positions in our draft range.
No chance Quinnen is there so I didn't put guys like him or Kyler Murray... Q was at 3. Corrected. Greedy is at 9, his teammate Devin White at 12
I don't think I've ever hated a clemson player like I hated him. he just would rub his nuts all over FSU every year. glad he's on my team now.
