sadly, I agree. It's time to tear it down. the pitching staff is in shambles w/o jose and the minor league system is complete trash
We could get a ton of top prospects for guys like Ozuna or yelich Problem is they aren't a sure thing like those guys are and we saw how well all those top prospects from the blue jays ended up
Trading Yelich would be idiotic, you have him on a very affordable 7 year contract and he's still developing. You build around that and the likes of Realmuto, maybe Gordon Soon Stanton's contract will be paralyzing to the payroll, and Ozuna will be asking for a huge deal. You take what you can get for those guys The rotation is a joke, and there's nobody in the farm system to replace them. Something needs to be done
I wasn't saying we should trade yelich just making it a point that we could get a ton for guys like him. Stantons contract will be tough to move, Yankees I'm sure would love to have him/can afford him and they've got a very deep farm system
Does anybody else really enjoy Billy Gil's rants about the Marlins during the Lebatard local hour? Had me cracking up when he made fun of Minervini saying that 95% of the time the bullpen wouldnt blow a big lead.
This hurts The 2008 Draft was bad for the Marlins, but 2009 was much worse. Here’s how it all went down. First Round: LHP Chad James (Pick #18) - Yukon HS (OK) Grade: F 2015 Stats (Frisco RoughRiders - Texas Rangers Double-A): 13 Appearances, 24.1 IP, 4.81 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 8.9 K/9 Chad James may be the biggest first-round bust in Marlins MLB Draft history. After going with a catcher in the first round in 2008, the Marlins went back to pitching in 2009, but James was a big swing and miss. In four seasons in Miami’s farm system, James never posted an ERA below 3.80 and never reached a level above High-A. The Marlins finally parted ways with the lefty before the 2014 season and he immediately signed with the Texas Rangers, who placed him in Single-A. James pitched 42 2⁄3 innings for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and then went on to throw 46 1⁄3 innings for the independent Evansville Otters in the 2014 season. Then in January 2015, while still unsigned for the season, James was suspended 50 games by Major League Baseball after testing positive for amphetamine. If that suspension hadn’t killed his career enough, James was then suspended for an additional 100 games after failing a second test in November of that same year. The left-handed pitcher appeared in 13 games for the Rangers’ Double-A team in between the suspensions in 2015, but that was the last time he played professional baseball. Who they should have drafted: OF Mike Trout (Pick #25)
4 game winning streak boys! Ozuna, Bour and Stanton are killing it with the long ball during the streak and Bour now is tied for the NL lead with 15 Riddle is playing like we've seen the last of Adeiny
In case anybody started feeling better about the farm system....Braxton Garrett just got shutdown and is getting an MRI on his elbow
It's literally Ozuna, Yelich, and Realmuto Three guys across the entire franchise that are worth anything legitimate
