I mean someone lied. The said he was killed my a tank shell, even released video of the tank supposedly firing on the building, when in fact someone from the IDF put a bullet specifically in his head. I'm fine either way and it doesn't change anything, but that's a big difference.
I guess I don't understand this. The building was pretty clearly hit by a tank shell, and he was injured from that. It just wasn't what specifically killed him. So even if claimed, I could easily see how that could have been an initial mistake, as often is in war/disaster situations. Did they even release a statement saying that it did? Because the pic with the obvious bullet to the head was released before the death was even confirmed.
Again, not a huge deal and it's good he's dead either way. Just want to make that clear. He just wasn't killed as they said he was. While the search for Sinwar took a year, the battle began on Wednesday when IDF forces identified three suspects in Rafah. After an exchange of fire, Sinwar was wounded, Shoshani said. Sinwar and the two others sought refuge in separate buildings. IDF forces engaged them, killed the two others, and later used a drone and a tank to demolish the third building where Sinwar was located, according to Shoshani. Sinwar was identified through DNA, fingerprint, and dental tests. The area had been booby-trapped, slowing the process of retrieving his body, he said.
not a big fan of all the nuclear exercises the major powers are conducting right now. Also, the FBI is investigating that intelligence leak about Israel's preparations to bomb Iran, which confirms it's an actual leak, not some sort of fabrication.
Going to take a couple hours for some level of truth to come out, but there’s a pic of the IRGC HQ in Tehran completely up in flames circulating, and if so the worst case scenario is we wake up tomorrow on the verge of a full blown regional war.
Another day another ceasefire rejected by Hamas https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/hamas-rejects-ceasefire-proposal-israei-troops-gaza Hamas has rejected a ceasefire proposal that would have brought the release of a small number of Israeli captives and a 30-day cessation of hostilities, but no withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip. Sources close to the Palestinian group told Middle East Eye that they had officially dismissed the proposal put forward by Qatar, Egypt and the US, despite reports in Israeli media that it was still under consideration.
Notice your bitch ass ignored the air strike that killed 25 kids. Or the families trying to evacuate and then men being forced to strip down and stand in the cold for hours while IDF took pictures and laughed at them. Hmmm I wonder why you don’t talk about those?
it really sucks civilians keep dying. Sounds like a ceasefire would help that or better yet, a surrender
All Hamas fault, Israel is doing nothing wrong. If Palestinians don’t want to be genocided they shouldn’t have been standing there. Just getting ahead of what our resident bootlicker is going to say.
You only have to watch now that Trump is in charge what type of war Hamas and Hezbulah will have with racist america
The Jerusalem Post advocating the ethnic cleansing, annexation, and Jewish settlement of Lebanese territory. https://bsky.app/profile/diplomatofnight.com/post/3lb6bhfc6fk2v
How many pages back did I say they were going to do this very thing? They're never leaving southern Lebanon. How much of it they annex is, of course, open to debate, but they're flattening it and killing off the current inhabitants for a reason.
So with Russia bogged down in Ukraine and Hezbollah taking big losses against Israel, is Assad going to survive this? Surely Iran wouldn’t deploy their own troops right?
Seems like Assad is getting loyal units he count on to the battlefield, Iran can always lean on Iraqi militias for manpower, and Russia still has some air power in Syria. I think it stalls in the next few days but anything’s possible.
I think Assad has enough manpower at this point as it's not 6-7 years ago and there aren't exactly 10 different active fronts. Appears the Syrian counterattack is underway we'll see how long this lasts. Back to routinely checking the Syrian Civil War reddit. Estimates from videos indicate HTS captured 20+ tanks, bunch of BMPs, ATGM, artillery, ammo, etc.
Yes. Assad relies heavily on Putin, there’s still some Russian airpower in Syria but they’re obviously busy elsewhere. Syria’s economy makes Russia’s look good at this point and smuggling captagon is probably their best export.
Frontline did a piece on al-Joulani a few years ago, he's basically tried to rebrand HTS and get away from being labeled Al-Qaeda
