217 is setting up to be another stacked card at MSG: https://www.mmafighting.com/2017/8/17/16165056/stephen-thompson-vs-jorge-masvidal-set-for-ufc-217
We've seen Jon Jones in the Octagon for the last time. A sad and dark ending to what was once the brightest of careers. https://www.mmafighting.com/2017/8/22/16187202/jon-jones-failed-drug-test-at-ufc-214
I shouldn't be surprised but I am. I wonder if he'll blame it on boner pills again or actually admit it this time.
Turinabol, which is weird, because no one takes it anymore. The East Germans and Soviets took it in the 60s-80s.
If 4 years sticks would he join WWE or juice more and fight Lesnar in Asia with no testing like the glory days of Pride? I'd pay to see the latter
Not only that, but this is a true black market steroid. No company in the world even manufactures it. Only underground labs. Normally I would preach some caution in waiting for details. But this one will be incredibly hard for Jones to explain given what he was popped for.
I will definitely be going to the UFC in Detroit. Sucks Jones popped, I think there was a good chance we would have seen Stipe and him fight in Detroit for the HW belt. Still want to see Stipe fight that night, and possibly Kevin Lee in his hometown depending on what happens I'm the Ferguson fight.
just heard Schaub talking about his. Apparently this was a really good steroid, it did not have a lot of the bad side effects, and was only detectable in urine, not blood (which is why the Germans used it, they did not have a test for it for a long time). He also said it had a very short half life, so it would only stay in your system for a short time, like days. The problem is that it's no longer made. The pharma company that used to make it for the Germans stopped producing it, so all of the product available now is black market. And with that shit you are not 100% sure what you are getting, and it could mess up the detect-ability and whatnot. Also said it's big in the power-lifting scene, which kind of makes sense given Jones' power lifting routines of the past few years. Pretty safe to assume Jones has been cheating for a long time after getting popped a second time. He's a great fighter, but such a damaged person mentally.
I believe it, but everything I've read says that it's a shit tier steroid compared to the big boys that we all know now.
Check it, from steroid.com: https://www.steroid.com/Oral-Turinabol.php Oral Turinabol is not an extremely powerful anabolic steroid but it most certainly carries a high level of benefits. When we consider the steroid’s safety rating this increases its beneficial nature all the more. For those who are generally sensitive to anabolic steroid related side effects, as long as they put in the effort to control cholesterol and avoid additional liver stress they should be able to supplement problem free. For the male athlete, this does assume he is also supplementing with exogenous testosterone.
If GSP shows he's back and close to himself, Berto vs GSP. Basically I want a Mayweather vs McGregor but in MMA. A boxer trying MMA for the first time going up against a HOF'er.
Would be great. Berto grew up in mma under his dad being a huge mma guy. Wonder if he could hang for a round...
I was thinking more Couture vs Toney. I'd prefer the MMA guy not be coming off 2 losses and be 310 lbs on fight night like Sylvia was.
Sylvia was 310 lbs and the entire match was a shit show. It was supposed to be a boxing match until the day before the fight. Who thing was dumb. Do you think Berto would beat McGregor in an MMA match?
Mercer vs Sylvia was not an MMA rules match. It was a boxing match with MMA gloves. No takedowns or kicks allowed. This is what happened to Ray Mercer in an actual MMA rules match. Against Kimbo Slice, no less.
I'll be damned. I'd only read about it a few times over the years. Never saw a mention that it was just a change of gloves. Makes sense though bc what I read said it was it couldn't get licensed as a boxing match so they had to get MMA licensing.
Berto fought at 147lbs his entire career in boxing, IIRC. So I would naturally expect featherweight or lightweight to be his home in MMA, should he cross over. You could put him in there with a Brian Ortega and watch him get choked out in just a minute. Could also put him in there with a Frankie Edgar if you'd wanna watch him get rag dolled around for as long as Frankie wants to do so.
