He lost 3 rounds, he didn’t get dominated . He figured it out and won it in half a round by your math.
He has always blocked punches with his face. Cost him a few times, but he has done nearly nothing to change it. I don’t get it, but it works for him.
DC just had to move a little more and he cruises to a win. Kind of weird to see a vet like that not respect a former champ
Been a long time since I've seen a MMA fighter just be that ruthless on digging body shots to the liver side. Just absolutely vicious. Cannot believe Cormier took as many of them clean as he did.
That was a great adjustment for Stipe. I'm not sure why he didn't use his height/reach advantage more; DC was inside too much. No jabs, no head movement and no kicks. Very weird strategy but awesome adjustment. Very high level fight from both guys.
I’m surprised he didn’t wrestle more. Stipe only wins by knockout (Francis is the exception ) . I want to see DC vs Nnganou
My bet is on Ngannou...I’m already nervous about him eating shots in that match, but just get him down over and over again like before.
Weird strategy from both DC and Stipe. Why did Stipe neglect his kicks completely? Why did DC not take him to the ground?
I think DC got tired and knew he better stay on the feet. He also seemed to get cocky on his feet dropping his hands.
Stipe has taken a lot of damage. I don’t think he can eat much of anything from Ngannou this time around.
He would try. Ngannou has such a strength, power and height advantage that it makes it a toss up in my opinion
DC was better for r1, and 2 but the 3rd was close. 4th completely was going Stipes way. And then he broke out the ax and started chopping wood. Incredible come back. Really thought DC was on cruise control taking a round off to save for the 5th but had no answer for those body shots.
re-watched the Romero fight. That's such a tough fight to score. Costa won the 2nd, Romero won the 3rd, so it comes down to who won the 1st. And I have no idea. They both landed bombs, both dropped the other one. Rogan likes to be dramatic and all, but there were like 5 times, just int he 1st round that he went OHHH!!! like the fight was about to be over. I guess Costa gets the nod because he was being the aggressor. But that is such a close round. All 3 judges scored it for Costa, so.
DC said he didn't listen to his coaches in the presser. WTF. After the 2nd and 3rd his coach berated him for not following the plan. And DC asked if he was losing. He prob got confused and decided to keep it standing because he felt it was winning the fight for him. They all fucked up. There is no excuse for a fight being lost like that.
