Jorge is smart to the game. The UFC can pay $300 million to investors a few months ago, but that only paid out around $150 million to its entire roster in 2019. But they cannot afford to pay fighters more? People typically use MLB, NFL, NBA to point out how little revenue the UFC gives its fighters in comparison. Most of the major sports leagues are between 50%-60% revenue share. The UFC gave about 16% to its fighters last year. Hell, even MLS gives roughly 25% to its athletes. Way past time for the fighters to fix the UFC's awful pay system.
Any chance of a UFC Union has to start with their biggest names. And allow them to sell sponsors for fucks sake.
Terrible card made worse by fighters withdrawing and no one making weight. That said, I’ll watch and bet on every fight.
Guy was up against the fence and on one leg... Absolutely beat the fuck out of his opponent. Never seen such a thing.
8 of Rosa's 12 wins were by submission. Rosa +700 submission victory. He attempts like 1 takedown total
I’m a huge fan of this Cliffs: Till created “mikeperryisabum.com” and the site has his losses/KO’s posted from YouTube
Odds courtesy of the Westgate Superbook UFC 251 ODDS FOR THE MAIN EVENT Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Justin Gaethje Khabib is the early UFC 253 favorite, as the lightweight champion is a perfect 28-0 in his MMA career and was installed at -200 to beat Gaethje. He hasn't fought since last September when he defeated Dustin Poirier via submission in the third round at UFC 242. Since then he has been unable to travel due to COVID-19 restrictions. Nurmagomedov is trying to build on his legacy as one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters in UFC history and is terrific both standing up and on the mat. The biggest win of his career was a dominating performance against Conor McGregor in 2018. Gaethje (+175) is the underdog for this fight, but that's a familiar role for the Arizona local who was listed at +150 when he upset Tony Ferguson for the interim lightweight championship in May. Gaethje has incredible power in his hands and has a 22-2 record in his career with a whopping 19 KOs. Each of his last 11 fights have ended via KO or TKO.
Was hoping for a higher number on Gaethje, but I'll be all over that. When he stuffs those takedowns and makes Khabib stand and throw, nighty night. Finishing up my spreadsheet now, I'll have the write up if y'all want it sometime tonight/tomorrow morning. Didn't bother last week because that was a dogshit card.
It's hard to believe no one has managed to do that to Khabib in 28 fights. But then again, he out-struck Conor on their feet. I dunno. I don't give him credit as a striker. And everyone who rolls with him says he's different. I can't imagine how much different he can be, but that's what people say. If Gaethje can't stuff the takedowns.....
I don't think anybody Khabib has faced has Gaethje's wrestling pedigree. I could be wrong, but I don't remember there being any.
Time for the Ungrateful Bastards picks of the week: Rohskopf is a 2 time All American wrestler, tore his shoulder I think his senior year, otherwise he would've been a 3 time All American. I think he's a big time future prospect. I'm expect him to get the back early and get a 1st round RNC. +300 for a 1st round win if you wanna start the night off right. Lauren Murphy is stupidly strong, and Moddaferri is probably overvalued after beating Barber by decision (Barber blew her knee out early in the 1st). I'll take Murphy by decision here, might even find her back for another choke finish. If you're playing DraftKings, gonna need exposure to both sides of this next fight. 2nd most likely to finish ITD behind Blades/Volkov. Either Jaynes by sub or Camacho by KO. I'd probably stay away from it from a betting perspective. It's razor thin, but pushed for a decision, I'll take the dog money with Jaynes. Robertson is a fucking pit bull, I love that girl. I'm on her ITD at +230. Barriault is riding a 3 fight losing streak, I'd expect him to come out swinging for his UFC career. He throws bombs, lots of KOs prior to coming to the UFC. Piechota is also on a 3 fight losing streak. Let's jump on the 1st round KO at +475. Van Buren is a pretty heavy favorite, I like her by decision. Torres is only on the card because Pennington is. Guida is a guilty pleasure for me. He looked great on the scales and I have a great feeling about him. Bobby Green talks a lot of shit in the cage for a guy with double digit losses. This could make the week, so let's go for the 1st round win at +1600 for Guida! Roberts will have to avoid the Miller KO out of the gates, but if he does, I expect Miller to have nothing left after the 1st round. Roberts ITD is +145, I can see a 2nd round sub after Miller gasses. Good throws bombs, but he also had COVID. How will his gas tank be? I have no idea. Because of that, I expect him to be trying to finish Muhammad early. This one is risky because Bilal is very talented, but I'll take Good with the 1st round KO at +450. Pennington by decision. She's lost 3 of her last 4, but it's been to the cream of the crop. Taken the elites to the distance. As long as she doesn't get caught on the ground, she should win a pretty easy decision. Burgos/Emmett will win a bonus tonight. Whether it's fight of the night or performance of the night, this one should be a banger. I'm on Burgos by KO at +165. Blaydes is the biggest favorite on the card, should have his way with the takedowns. Once he takes Volkov down for the 5th or 6th time, I expect him to finish him. -245 ITD. Good luck! Should be a pretty fun card.
Max looked terrible. Got the takedowns and didn't know what to do with them. Would expect an All American wrestler to have more of a gas tank than he did. Murphy should be up 2 rounds here thankfully to get us back on track.
