not as sad as your spelling pal
probably didnt study hard enough for it lol
He has 4 Bols
That's a nice haul for Ben McLemore 2.0
think porter jrs people pulled this move on the medical files before extension talks
Bol didn’t have much of a future in the nba anyways
Motiejunas played 60 NBA games since he failed that physical. The following offseason, he signed an offer sheet the Rockets matched, but it was basically voided because he didn't show up for his physical. Then he worked out a new deal with the Rockets, but that deal was also scrapped after he finally took his physical there and they seemingly found something that stopped that contract from being signed. He's since played 37 NBA games and has spent most of the rest of his career in China.
After typing that I wondered why I felt compelled to post that because I couldn't care less about Pistons' doctors. Didn't want a Google search to be wasted, I guess.
It seems unlikely that the Pistons org has a conspiracy going where they trade for fringe players and fail them on their physical just to tank their value. More likely Motiejunas is just bitter
And if this was a conspiracy but we didn’t apply it to Charlie Villanueva and Ben Gordon, I’ll be pissed.
Someone forget to tell the Dubs they had a game tonight? Holy shit.
They really should be able to switch the game when it’s a blowout like this
The Grizzlies are frustrating the shit out of me tonight. They’ve had 5 trips to the foul line tonight where they missed both shots.
look like the Nets had their make a point game last night and no showed tonight
John Konchar when you need him! 15 pts and 17 rebounds off the bench. Saved us the win even though everyone else played like shit. 11 in a row
Luka right now. Except he's talking about refilling his plate for the third time tonight.
I just want to point out that the following people, this season, even after he won an MVP, are repeating my exact take from years ago that Jokic doesn't get the respect/recognition/attention he deserves
Stan Van Gundy
I have never heard of Ben Taylor and have zero clue who he is or what he does.
Grandson of Chuck Taylor, the shoe guy
Thinking Basketball guy. He does good work. You should check out his YouTube
"Jokic doesn't get enough love and attention" in 2022 is generally not the kind of take that gets me to want to listen to someone's stuff.
What if he also has some spicy Jordan vs Lebron takes?
Regardless of whether you agree with it or not, I'm just making the point that it's a position being taken by unbiased guys in the National NBA media. So basically suck my dick and my rep as insecure is undeserved
The bolded kinda defeats itself.
I honestly thought Ben Taylor was like a household name among non-casuals
Not really. I've taken shit itt for years and I mostly have laughed along with it but I'm just making the point that it's not really accurate. Has nothing to do with insecurity
This is the only benefit of a midseason tournament to me, is giving the pod squads something to fill the time with instead of stuff like this
Jokic was deservedly the MVP last year
But his team is mediocre and hovering around play-in tournament territory so, yeah he’s probably not gonna kick off the opening segment of First Take
Jokic won MVP last year with 91 out of 100 first place votes and has 3M votes this year for starting in the all-star game. That trails only Curry, LeBron, Durant and Giannis. Who are these people who aren't giving him enough respect?
Saying Jokic is underrated, disrespected or doesn't get enough attention is like the people for 10-15 years who said we don't talk about the Spurs enough. It's just an annoying perspective that makes me want to dislike people who think it.
I don't particularly care that much that Jokic doesn't get a ton of national media coverage. It happens to a ton of teams and players and is the nature of the garbage way the NBA and sports are covered. That's not the point I'm making.
Fine, that's all perfectly valid. I'm just saying it's a position some well-respected national NBA coverage guys have taken this year. Which I found to be interesting considering my history of interactions with people itt on this topic.
Who is this Jokic player you guys keep talking about. I have never heard of him.
definitely lots of theory disproving in the thread today
I am only here for Jason Concepcion takes, what does he think about Jokic
I just left a hipster coffee shop in Los Angeles and overheard some liberals whispering amongst each other that they agreed with the latest *checks notes* Ben Taylor YouTube video that Jokic doesn’t get enough respect
Kevin O'Climber Kevin O'Bomber Kevin O'Candyland Keviiiiiiiiinnnn
Hey have you heard of this Jokic guy?
you thought that about a guy with 30k twitter followers and no national platform?
Well I didn't check his Twitter follower count. His YouTube channel has 294k subscribers, he's been on a bunch of other prominent nba pods and he has his own podcast that often hosts other well known NBA media guys.
I'm legitimately surprised people itt haven't heard of him.
Ben Taylor is the Cleaning the Glass guy? Maybe? Am I a casual?
The implication was not intended that you're a casual if you don't know who Ben Taylor is. I was saying that I thought any non-casual NBA fan would know him but that seems to not be the case
