I'd like to see Memphis win this, but Brooks is a huge dildo.
as a neutral, I love watching him on defense and his passing.
this may be a hot-ish take but I think he’s one of the most overrated players of my lifetime
if he wasn’t so demonstrative I don’t think he’d get near the attention
As a Memphis fan, I’ve been loving his passing too
fair point, though seems all of the Warriors have dick fingers right now.
these dudes gonna idiot their way to a game 7
Steph wtf are u doing ..just some awful turnovers
Old man take but I can’t get used to seeing road teams in white
why do we have to hear richard jefferson and not Doris or JJ?
Keep posting through it, man. Totally normal stuff.
We’re lucky to be in the game with 8 unforced turnovers in a half. Smdh.
Words matter. Sorry you had to learn it this way.
brooks isn't going to get another 18 in the second half so memphis really needs some of their other scorers to step up. where was kyle anderson that half?
Brandon Clarke, my dude. You can literally out leap everyone on the court. Dunk the ball instead of missing 4 shots within 1 foot of the goal
Also they REALLY need to get Adams back after halftime
I like Jefferson. Always feel like Doris goes to east on players when they fuck up or are lazy.
when he’s dialed in he really is a genius on defense. I think the greatest team defender in nba history. Pretty damn good on ball as well. Him never improving his shooting though? I always feel like instead of working to improve in the off-season he bought into the narrative that he’s the guy who does everything else. If he was a 33% shooter from behind the arc….
He’s my favorite big in the league. Sucks that he has to play by ol Dirty Dillon though.
I'm sure he's tried to improve as a shooter. Just doesn't work for some guys, though. And it seems like it became a mental thing for him at some point that teams leave him so open because they'd rather live with that than whatever else GS does.
Draymond is a clown on offense
Draymond just butt fumbled
I do not like the Jones' family at all but that was not an offensive foul
Definition of an offensive foul.
“You, Steph, alright!! I learned it by watching YOU!!!”
This game improved when the players started to make shots instead of missing them and doing dumb things. #analysis
Probably but in the preseason we always here about how this player is really working on this over the summer. You always expect to hear Draymond really put in some work on his jumper, fixed his form, etc. but it’s never been that, at least as a talking point.
He tried a Chris Paul move that is no longer legal and he's not Chris Paul. It's an offensive foul.
it might be time to start the Harden convo w Steph if this keeps up , he has been awful most of this series
and Draymond is like a G League Magic Johnson
16 turnovers JFC
This team deserves to lose.
looked like a damn crackback
That looks like it hurt.
Brandon Clarke could fall into a barrel of tits and come up sucking his thumb.
Getting NOTHING from him.
big fan of this analogy.
Draymond is probably the best defensive player of his generation. In the conversation for one of the best defenders of all time. He's also annoying as fuck. But he's definitely not overrated imo
Curry can be the worst player on the court for every remaining playoff game he ever plays and he still should never put in a conversation with Harden about it.
I’d pretty sternly disagree with everything you’ve said.
In any event, I just don’t consider guys that are only one way players to be greats like he claims to be. I also think he has benefitted tremendously by being drafted by the Warriors. I think if he was on any other team I don’t think we’d care nearly as much about him. He can be a zero on offense there and win and get a share of the spotlight whether he deserves it or not.
Yeah that came out wrong . was talking about decline vs career legacy
couple nice 2s but his 3 looks broken
Calling Draymond a one way player or a zero on offense is ridiculous. He's been awful offensively in this series, and whatever his legacy is long term is greatly boosted by who he played for/with. The same can be said about a ton of players throughout the history of the league. But he's not a zero on offense just because he can't shoot.
give me break. The guy has averaged double digits four seasons in a decade long career. Go sell that somewhere else
These Wiggins bailouts from these atrocious GS possessions are absurd.
He's not a one way player. He's bad at scoring but he does a lot of productive stuff on offense.
I do agree that a mostly defensive complementary player wouldn't be as highly regarded if he weren't surrounded by other elite players. Though I don't think that really tells us much.
Offense is only ball go in hoop
Green just went full OL on that last screen. Literally blocked Williams 25 feet all the way under the rim. How is that now a foul?
Again, what offense he does help generate is a function of playing with Curry and Clay. Just my opinion
That plays a role. It's also a function of his ball handling, playmaking ability, screen setting, etc. We don't have to pretend that anybody could do what Draymond does
Really prefer scenarios where the Warriors don’t win
What the fuck is this slapping shit after the whistle?
i think of floor- and ceiling-raisers in terms of ranking players. i think most people do, too. most players are ranked in terms of raising floors, as in how many wins your team gets if a player is your best player. scoring guards are easy to think of and rank here.
ceiling raisers are guys who help you compete for titles and who turn playoff teams into true contenders. these are basically good defensive wings and bigs (plus jrue).
draymond is really unique because he provides literally nothing in terms of raising your floor (see: 2019 warriors) but is (was?) the ultimate ceiling raiser. elite defensively and a perfect offensive facilitator for an era where shooting is all that matters. no idea how to rank a guy like that in the traditional sense but i imagine more will be like him in the future.
hubie brown would be rolling in his grave at this shot selection if he was calling this game
You should be allowed a free punch to the face of someone trying to take the ball from you after a whistle or timeout like Poole has now done twice this half.
