I’m not sure any player has ever been as talented and disliked by so many fans, despite having never won anything. He’s unequivocally one of the best PGs in league history and still incredibly maddening to watch at least half the time.

His actual game is and always has been a thing to marvel. And I get, like Draymond, all the other little shit that makes non-Phoenix fans crazy, is part of that game now...it's just as equally unenjoyable to watch as his Point God game is enjoyable.

 

Patrick Beverley, on some level, probably has to have his personality and shtick in order to play the role he's played for as long as he's played it. Draymond probably needs to be some version of this over the top personality to create the career he's made for himself. There are a bunch of other examples of guys like that who do the extra bullshit as secondary players on good teams.

Chris Paul has never needed to do the extra shit he's always done to be Chris Paul, yet he's done this stuff his entire career. That's what makes it so annoying to me. He's probably one of the five best PGs of all time. He's one of the 8-10 best players of the last 20 years. And yet he still feels the need to kick/hit people in the balls, flail around any time someone is in his vicinity, flop constantly, call for techs when people's shirts are untucked, etc. It's very frustrating to watch, in part because it feels beneath someone of his of status to do for almost two decades.
