Lonzo is a good player, but I think his presence on the Hornets could stunt LaMelo’s growth. Their skillsets are fairly similar, even if LaMelo is the better scorer.

 

Lonzo wouldn't be going to Charlotte in that scenario, according to the story

 

Idk, i think I'd be ok with multiple oversized guards who can both pass and shoot. Lonzo can help hide Melo on defense

Yes, you are. This is the part of the rebuild that a team takes a risk on a veteran that they believe teams may want for a playoff run. This is something that OKC must do because as we all know they desperately need draft picks.

 

I just worry about our ability to showcase Kemba enough to get a pick for him if we're also trying to showcase Dinwiddie enough to get a pick for him. And don't even get me started on showcasing Derrick Favors enough to get a pick for him.

 

I thought Kemba was already discussed in trade rumors, word is that the Pels or the Knicks may be potential landing spots for him. My guess is that Dinwiddie is on the chance that Kemba is moved.

 

Stein says Jimmy Butler is likely to sign a 4/$182M extension on his current max deal. That would keep him in Miami for another 5 (maybe 6?) years. That's kind of insane, right? He turns 32 in September.

What are you hopes and predictions for you teams in FA?

For the Pistons, I'm kind of hoping for something along the lines of Malik Monk and Nerlens Noel on 2-3 year deals for $10M or less. I could probably talk myself into Monk for a little bit more than that.

My prediction is they sign one or both of Olynyk and/or DeRozan because those are the things I don't want them to do.

 

I expect OKC to utilize our cap space to facilitate sign and trades or 3 way deals as a way to get some much needed lotto protected firsts

 

as a once again timberwolves fan starting in 2023, i just hope they dont do anything too stupid in the interim

Charlotte is apparently happy with their C rotation with Plumlee and Jones now in the fold. Thought they were going to pursue Richaun Holmes, but sounds like it’s not happening.

Guessing they make a run at a backup wing to spell Hayward when he goes down for the season in February.

I think the Hornets make the top 8 with a full season of Hayward. That won’t happen, so I’m guessing about the same record next year unless PJ Washington or Miles Bridges take the next step.

 

Denver will probably largely run it back with no significant moves. They expect to retain Barton. Green is more of a question mark as he'll have lots of offers and doesn't have the same ties to the org. They'll also try to extend MPJ, guessing he ends up on a max deal. Nuggs don't really have space to do much else.

 

Celtics have a terrible roster around their 2 stars especially if they let Fournier walk. Yuck

 

Lowry, which really has been the guy all along. Then not sure who the 2nd player we add will be.

My hope is we keep Duncan and need to, but if he's part of a sign-and-trade then it needs to be for someone like Ingram(it's a fun wish) but I think we end up with just Lowry and then find someone with the MLE.
Maybe go for Jeff Green..

 

Doesn't sound like Duncan is part of that S&T. If he was, I don't think they would have needed to pick up Dragic's option.

I guess they could do multiple deals, though, where Dragic goes in one and they get some kind of asset for not matching a Robinson offer.

yea, I think Duncan is part of one if we are actually able to get a 2nd star like Heat 'insiders' are saying we are going for. Main thought is its Derozan but I'd rather not get rid of our main outside shooter to acquire Derozan...

Knicks will probably sign players to short-term deals in hopes of retaining cap space for the 2022 free agent class where there are a significant number of big time free agents that can turndown the Knicks. When you get a chance to be told to fuck off by KD, Kyrie, Harden, Beal and others, you just have to take it.
