I honestly do not find her funny at all. Sure, there is a moment every few episodes that she makes me chuckle, but outside of that it's all about Winnie The Bish, Schmidt and Nick plus Megan Fox fine ass.
I'm not sure anyone necessarily hates the character, but many of us believe she's the weakest character on the show when it comes to producing laughs. Winston struggled a bit after his introduction, but the writers have really found a groove with him now. Megan Fox was a trade up from Jess, IMO. She's ridiculously hot, and her character added some dynamics the show hadn't seen before.
"Is that what a Map Scientist is? A Cartographer?" "Yes." "Why is everything a code with you? Just say Map Scientist."
"the elite package includes the wax removal of hair from your nether regions." "WHAT YOU SAY HOMEBOY?!"
It's still been solid, but this has been my least favorite season. Probably because Jess is in it full time...
I'm glad that this might be the last season because fuck having another season of Nick and fucking Jess
I'm really ok if this were to be the last season. Will miss it, but it really does seem like they're lining everything up to call it a day and if that includes Jess and Nick, let's just end there
I laughed at Schmidts name being Winston and he and Winston fighting over it. that's about it though. Also Megan Fox is so hot. Like every time she's on my screen i think "holy moly she is sooooo hot"
Entire season has been dogshit. But the show was only really good when the storylines surrounded Winnie the Bish, Schmidt, and Nick.
I don't want to say "hopefully", because there are still so many parts of the show that can be funny and I'd miss them, but given where everyone is at, I'm gonna say hopefully you're correct. Just walk off into the sunset and we'll all be happy with how it ended.
Spin off with more of a focus solely on Nick, Schmidt and Winston shenanigans... I don't know how, but make it happen.
I like when shows have a set ending and dont meander on forever. This show was teetering the edge of meandering. 7 seasons is a good run.
Wife and I have caught random episodes of this throughout the years. Just decided to binge it, and we're about halfway through season 5. Gonna need season 6 to get added to Netflix before the last episodes go live. Agree that Jess is the weak spot on the show. I still like her dynamic with everyone, but she's definitely last on carrying a show. Winston is either a non-factor or a scene stealer, while Nick and Schmidt(and particularly anything involving them together) really are the heart and soul of the funny. Coach is great, too and Cece's dynamic with Schmidt is always amazing.
IMO Schmidt and Winnie the Bish are the two best characters and Nick is hit or miss. Coach (Damon Wayons Jr) isnt as funny as he was in Happy Endings so he always disappointed me. new seasons always get put on netflix a couple weeks before the premiere or so
"It's like letting a dog drink water out of your mouth. It's not great but it's legal." I fucking died.
Lamorne Morris (Winston) is on the Road Trippin podcast that Richard Jefferson does. An hour long, I'm about 20 minutes in and it's pretty good so far. His fire truck line was pretty good
New Girl: Dermot Mulroney Returning as Jess' 'Fancyman' Ex for Final Season By Michael Ausiello / November 6 2017, 10:17 AM PST Well, fancy this: New Girl is bringing Dermot Mulroney back before it crosses the finish line. TVLine has learned exclusively that Mulroney is set to reprise his role as Jess’ ex, Russell “The Fancyman” Shiller, for multiple episodes during the Fox comedy’s seventh and final season, but don’t expect the former lovebirds to rekindle their romance. As teased in Friday’s Ask Ausiello, when we reunite with the gang next year (following a four-year time jump) Jess will be in a happy, committed relationship with Nick. Jess and Russell first connected in New Girl‘s first season (his daughter was one of Jess’ pupils), and the two began dating soon after. Their relationship ended in the Season 1 finale, although Mulroney returned briefly at the end of Season 2
