It's almost as if continually showing us the same half dozen characters we've had since 1977 is extremely difficult to make compelling. It's not a coincidence that the two best live action Star Wars things since 1980 are the ones that feature predominantly new characters.
Also what the fuck does Kathleen Kennedy do? How has she still not learned to plan ahead so every project isn't rushed or cancelled or completely redone? Disney should've canned her already.
Guys If the product wasn’t going to good, it’s a good thing they are admitting defeat and going back to the drawing board. That’s what TROS needed.
It's definitely the right move to delay this if there's a problem so we don't get a rushed product like TROS. Here are my issues: 1) If the scripts were all done back in August like KK said at D23 then why did they even start pre-production only to shut it down months later due to issues with the scripts. 2) One of the trades said the issue was the similarities between this and the Mandalorian. Shouldn't that have been known at the beginning? Is she not even listening to pitches before they start writing? It's just crazy there have been this many problems with development.
Took less than 5 years to just about drive this franchise into a creative ditch idk, maybe going with someone George hand-picked was a bad idea
Ewoks and Han Solo? I'd like to see what someone other than Kathleen Kennedy could do with star wars. It's pretty clear she's doing this to save her ass but yeah how could she not realize they were both set on desert planets? Was she not familiar with what obi wan did between episodes 3 & 4?
I think it's time for everyone to admit that Kathleen Kennedy isn't a great producer. She's the wife of a great producer and leeched off his success, parlaying Hollywood liberalism into being viewed as equal to Frank Marshall. At the end of the day Frank was a producer who picked good scripts, hired good directors, funded good movies, and got the fuck out of the way. Kathleen Kennedy is the bizarro version of that.
If EA stays out of the way of good studios they own, like Respawn, they can just sit back and enjoy good press and revenue
Fallen Order? I just started it, and as someone who doesn't typically play that type of game, I've loved it so far.
The combat is fantastic and rivals the force unleashed two as far as melee combat. Story was good imo.
It was a fairly bare bones game. Zero side quests of any kind. Almost nothing as far as extra content. Just a linear story. It also really lacked polish.
First two CW S7 episode titles and descriptions Spoiler: spoiler Episode 701 - “The Bad Batch” Captain Rex and the Bad Batch must infiltrate an enemy base on Anaxes. Episode 702 - "A Distant Echo” Anakin Skywalker, Rex, and the Bad Batch make a shocking discovery on Skako Minor.
Agreed on the side quests. What do you mean it really lacked polish? I had very little bugs when I played.
it was weird for me. I didn’t encounter bugs until post-campaign play. Which may have not been coincidence.
Shitty frame rate, some of the animations were janky. Just stuff like that. Nothing major but stuff that in my mind keeps it from being a great game. I definitely still enjoyed it but I also think it could be a lot more if given more time.
Yeah, that’s how it works with EA. The actual game developer creates a complete game and then EA strips a bunch of it out so they can sell it to you later as DLC
I agree with this sentiment but fallen order did really well. also kotor is a different animal tho which would lead me to believe they’d do it the right way. I don’t mind dlc. So long as the game is complete. Fallen order was a compete, good game. By ea
Exactly, BF2 was developed and published by EA. it took 3 years to sell all the DLC and fix all the bugs.
