Our other starting DE, Dani Dennis Sutton also appeared to reaggravate a groin injury that made him miss a couple games in November. All our injuries are on defense other than our starting RT being done for the year, but that happened months ago.
Imo Rucci is playing better than Donkoh was Secondary has stepped up huge all year with Winston out (would be a lot of playoff team’s best defender) CJF’s best coaching job this year bad none
He’s a better run blocker but worse pass blocker. Winston loss shows up when we play teams that can throw it…Oregon comes to mind. Because we would have played 3 safety looks with Jaylen Reed near the LOS and Winston / Wheatley deep for coverage. Instead we usually have a second LB out there and get torched with crossers / intermediate pass game because our LBs are the weakest unit on the team. Even Boise had success with this and I imagine ND will too because our gameplan will be so heavy run defense.
We played down 6 starters against Georgia. Two more got banged up against Georgia. And all of them are objectively our best players. Georgia’s last RZ trip got stopped with 4 All Americans on the sidelines.
Replace “Georgia” with “Alabama” and it’s what happened in our game. Sad to see that the SEC powers can no longer keep up with lumbering midwestern backup players.
If you think k ole IHHH is being weird now, you’ve got a long week ahead of you, and he knows how much respect I’m giving him.
Your receivers will get their shots against ND. Ton of blitz schemes. So far not many teams have beat them, and that’s with an all-American 1st round pick and starting a true fresh and soph. Beat that and you’ll have a good chance to win.
I am back to work on monday, shitposting will not be as intense as It could be but I fully intend to shit post like a champion whenever the good lord allows me the time to do It
Is it just me or does that math not make sense. Man to man for everyone plus rushing 5 plus two people helping cover. Sounds like someone’s wide open and so are the corners, altho w psu receivers that’s probably fine
Someone would have to have back out of the backfield responsibilities which is probably that LB/S he has as playing the intermediate zone
Golden puts alot of pressure on opposing OC’s and QB’s to guess right against him he throws an absolute absurd amount of looks at you and he will put anyone of his back 7 in man coverage at any given time his scheme can be run on but no one really tries for whatever reason but Clemson, Louisville, and NIU did in their wins
the other part of those losses were the what 9 combined interceptions thrown by Hartman and Leonard Golden didn’t lose those games
hopefully AK can resist the urge to get cute with the passing hand the way he couldn’t against Boise.
It’s funny because what we ultimately get into is actually pretty basic - man to man with robber. You just don’t know which backers are blitzing or dropping, and which safety is playing the alley or robber. It causes a QB to try to distinguish that post-snap, and if any of your pass pro falters in that time, QBs can be left out to dry. That said, you pick up the blitz and you can make a play on the outside and huge gains are possible. This is where USC did a fantastic job against us. Does PSU have a WR that can win vertically on the outside?
that fast little shit that caught the first TD versus boise? Not sure he can win one on one vs our corners but I’m probably wrong.
Looking at the game by game passing stats of Allar and Leonard and it’s kind of eye opening Both teams play peak 1980’s independent ball Fuck the forward pass, run the ball #conferencessuck
I'm surprised how confident many NDs fans/commentators seem to be on various sites. To me, this will be a close game that could go either way. But if you read opinions on various websites, the ND fans act like they expect a 20-24 point victory. Maybe that will happen, but it seems less likely than most other results. I guess us PSU fans have just learned that it's the hope that kills you.
There are a lot of shitty ND sites out there. I do think there are a decent number of ND folks who have never thought PSU was any good, but I think most on here plus the decent beat writers don't feel that way.
it seemed out of character for us so I just went back and looked at the 8 pages post announcement of the bracket one poster said something like we can slaughter them (psu) in the semis in response to the seeding no score predictions just a lot of posters pissed about the seeding and some usage of suck in regards to PSU pretty tame stuff
I don’t think we’re very good but have gotten better. outside of osu no one really is… this could go either way, I don’t know enough about ND to make a prediction
I was inferring predictions based upon on confident trash-talking by ND fans. Hence, the "act like" phrase.
ND 24 PSU 20 Should be a slobberknocker. Excited to watch this one. And I enjoy both fanbases here so no negative rooting interests lol
