Tired of you fucks that start a thread after you realize oh shit my team is good. Hawks fans im looking at you and your no longer relevant thread
I told the Hawks fans their team sucked back when they won 60+ games in a season so fuck you very much. We here to stay
The 76ers and Robert Covington are finalizing the framework of a four-year, $62 million contract extension, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com. His salary for this year was just $1.57 million, so the $15 million renegotiation is the largest single-season figure negotiated since that became an available contractual avenue in the NBA. This is great deal for the 76ers and Covington has made it clear he's almost perfect for their system. He's been ridiculously efficient with his 67.7 TS% and he ranks extremely high on metrics like real plus minus this season.
Dude is a fucking monster. He's got such great moves for someone his size. If he could ever stay healthy he would be a top 5-10 player in the league. He's unstoppable for the most part.
I started a Sixers thread a year or two ago that no one posted in, so my spot on the bandwagon should be secure.
Stays healthy he is a top 5 player without a doubt, maybe top 3. From the limited amount of games I’ve seen at home (hard to watch a lot in Blazers country) he has a lot of ‘The Dream’ going on.
The dude just knows how good he is and I love his trolling of other players. Him and Simmons really do not like the entire Ball family
Since 1963-1964, Embiid is the second player with 40+ points, 20 or less FGA, 10+ rebounds and 7 blocks in a game. The only other is Shaq in 1999 (41 points, 11-13 FG, 19-31 FT, 17 TRB, 7 BLK). If you add 7 assists or more, no one has ever done that in NBA history.
Ben Simmons had another impactful game against the Lakers on Wednesday, scoring 18 points with nine rebounds, 10 assists, five steals and one block in 39 minutes. He and Joel Embiid are already one of the most dominating duos in the Eastern Conference. In their 266 minutes together, they have a +13.8 net rating and it feels like they're on their way to the postseason. Not coincidently, the 76ers have turned it on with a 7-2 record in their last nine games and Simmons has filled the stat sheet like few others with averages of 18.6 points, 8.8 boards, 7.9 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.0 blocks in that span. He's still made just four shots outside of 15 feet on the year, but who cares? His upside is Giannis-esque. Joel Embiid had a career night against the Lakers during a 115-109 victory on Wednesday, scoring a career-high 46 points with 15 rebounds, seven assists, seven blocks, two turnovers and two 3-pointers in 34 minutes. He was 14-of-20 from the field and 16-of-19 from the line to give him a ridiculous 81.1 TS% on his 35.8 usage rate. Embiid became the first NBA player to post at least 45 points, 15 boards, seven assists and seven blocks in a game since blocks became an official stat in 1973-74. Fantasy wise, his 93.5 fantasy points are the most this season, and he's not even all the way back yet. After the game, he said he was at about 69 percent of what he's capable of doing, so his fantasy owners should have some very, very nice lines coming their way. As always, Trust The Process.
We are on the cusp of a great time to be a Philly sports fan again. I've been waiting many agonizing years to be excited about all of the major sports teams across the board
One of the most frustrating quarters of basketball I've ever watched. The refs calling it like a GSW home game.
Does anybody like Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot? He’s pretty frustrating to watch since he can’t shoot and doesn’t seem to understand his limitations on offense.
true, but i mean with the reports that he was switching his shooting motion and all that. I just want him to be better than lonzo
he was diagnosed with a muscle imbalance so he's trying to get that corrected before he worries about his shooting motion.
I am pretty sure he will be fine but his shooting is fascinating to me. I know when they were on ESPN Jalen said that he is sure that Ben doesnt even know what hand to shoot with yet. I don't even get how that's possible. It's just mind boggling that he can't shoot and had a double double with a minute to go in the half last night. Last Wednesday I went to the game and watched him in warm ups and to see how he shoots. He took one shot from further than the foul line and that was a three pointer. It was a hook shot........... Then in the game pretty much if he was on the right side of the rim he used his right hand, left side he used his left hand.
Has been in the back of my mind since they drafted Simmons. Was always a long shot, as it would require Embiid and Simmons to both stay healthy and develop into what they have been hyped up as. So far, so good. I personally find Lebron annoying, but appreciate his talent and would absolutely make a run at him if he decided to move on from Cleveland to continue pursuing championships. All that being said, that feels like a long way off from being a serious possibility.
for anyone who is a member of The Athletic, they did a great deep dive on the Sixers future cap situation and how it relates to their ability to sign a max FA this offseason. for anyone who isn't a member of The Athletic, get your head out of your ass and join.
