realizing you can do pretty much anything just about anywhere in the world must feel a little liberating
But that particular statistic will never get anything close to 500:1. Statistcis in it's nature is pure. They are the same everywhere in math. But the casino table doesn't adhere to pure laws of statistics.
yea, no kidding it wont be 500:1. Every single of those 500 spins will have a 1/2 probability of bring black or red. If its red for 500 straight, on the 501st roll there is a 1/2 probability it will be red or black
Shu is Shu'ing and the Nightingale System in which Shu is basically playing at casinos is hilarious as you need an unlimited bank roll and no limits in order to work.
Yeah I know. That's why I start out at like $10. The tables I play on are like $1,000 limit. You don't need an unlimited bank roll if your first bet is cheap. But if you win 4 times an hour, that's $40 - not too bad.
Yeah, Table limits destroy that system. If it's a 1000 limit table, even if your starting bet is only $10, you only get 6 spins before you limit out. Your prob. of R/B is .4737 to win, so .5263 that you lose. If you play 100 spins in a night of gambling, then your odds of losing it all are pretty high. Here is some of the math behind it, and that is if your odds are 50/50 http://mathforum.org/library/drmath/view/56637.html
Cliffs on this for anyone who doesn't want to read. If you flipped a coin 100 times, there is a .54 probability you will get 6 heads in a row. Translate that "heads" to "losing in roulette" (which has an even higher prob. than flipping heads) and you conclude that if you spun a roulette wheel 100 times using Shu's system, more often than not you would lose all of your money.
My bad it is the Martindale System (I've been drinking) and I'd read up user Shu http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martingale_(betting_system)
And to be clear, losing costs $630. Winning means $10. I can't believe more people haven't thought of this.
Often times I lose many more times than four an hour. As long as I go 1 - 5 with the last bet being won, I come out ahead (assuming I double up each time, which I do).
So you're telling me that if I flipped a coin a set of 100 times, 100 times that 54 of those 100 sets I would get heads 6 times in a row at least once?
Y'all are missing one important part of this thing. I often wait and watch until the wheel has rolled red or black 2 or 3 times in a row and then start betting. So when I am at spin 5, the wheel actually has to hit the same color 7 or 8 times in a row.
Unless you have a huge bank roll and can get a higher limit table, you aren't gonna get rich. But you can get drunk for free, have fun at the casino, and walk away with a few hundred dollars a night. Not too bad, iyam. Now there have been times I lost my ass. It sucks losing $1,280 plus what I chased with the prior bets (10,20,40,80,160,320,640 - close to $2,500 altogether) chasing $10. Sucks quite bad actually.
You're absolutely right. But the totalitary of it is not independent. What are the odds it rolls a particular color 8 times in a row? Very slim. Much less than 50%. Eventually it is gonna hit.
Not a troll. Trolling is dumb. I don't even see the point. I did troll one time back on the recruiting board on the os. The day before Christmas I explained to everyone how I opened a present early and it was a Tommy Hilfiger sweater and how excited I was to wear my new sweater and Levis jeans to the family gathering.
Ok so say this is how it goes. R (no bet) R (no bet) (You bet black) R (you lose) (you bet black) R (you lose) (you bet black B (you win) B (no bet) (you bet red) B (you lose) (you bet red) B (you lose) And it isn't like it's unlikely that a color hits 4 times in a row because I saw it happen constantly when I was in Vegas for 3 days.
Yeah. Sometimes I just cut my losses after a few rolls. But you're right - I never claimed it made me a lot of money.
Got my tickets today. If I win I'll send Shu to explore his underwater ruins. Spoiler and cut off his oxygen supply while he's down there
lol you are dumb as fuck. there's no such thing as a winning strategy for roulette. do you have any sort of understanding of statistics?
Shu is being a moron, but this might not be a troll. I had this same exact conversation with a college-educated person last year.
