I don’t run unless it’s on. Basketball court I will play any of u in A match play round of golf however
When you find out exactly where you stay it will be easier to make suggestions. LA is huge and traffic is horrible. Depending when you’ll be in the city you’ll probably be able to catch an S.C. or UCLA “football” game.
Hey at least the UCLA tailgate is fun. He could go tailgate in Pasadena and then get the Hell out of there before the game begins.
I only hate West LA because it's such a bitch getting over there, and out of there. It's undeniably nice though.
And when you live there it's not as hard to get in and out when you are smart about it. I can leave in the mornings for work and get out of SM just fine. Coming back later in the day is easy as well. Going against traffic both ways during those times. Its the people who work on the Westside and live somewhere else that suffer.
When you hear people talking about how terrible LA traffic is, they aren't joking. It's a huge, sprawling city and it can take you hours to get from one end of the city to the other. This applies even on the weekends and even when it's not rush hour. There's random traffic at random times of the day and it's maddening.
Back when I lived there I lived in Manhattan Beach and worked in El Segundo. Not sure what % of salary increase it would have taken to get me to give up that deal.
I live in Hollywood so can give you some bar/restaurant/things to do recs when you get closer to it. As someone else had said Saturday beach day / Sunday hollywood / silver lake day drinking day sounds good to me.
This sucks, I spent so much of my childhood messing around in this watershed. Now they're gonna turn it into a god damn moonscape, and people in La Canada could give a fuck. I'm sure they'll start to care when they see what it looks like, or they notice 400 extra dump trucks clogging up the 210. Too bad it'll be too late to do anything about it. https://www.pasadenastarnews.com/20...ngna-watershed-park-to-begin-by-octobers-end/

Crosspost from another thread...I visited your fair state for the first time earlier this year and now the gf and I are looking at coming back in February to San Diego. Is public transit a thing there or will we want a rental like we had in LA? Is it generally pretty fair weather mid-February? I'd take a drive up to La Jolla regardless of weather but if I could sneak in a round of golf I'd love to. Looks like there's a lot of good Airbnb options all over the place, is there a better area to stay in to avoid traffic or make it easier to get around?
Public transit is getting better but we still have a ways to go. If you want flexibility, then rent a car. As for places to stay and parts of town, it depends. I’d say either pick a beach community like La Jolla, Coronado or Del Mar, or stay Downtown (transit options are plentiful here) and use that as your base of operations. Traffic wise, avoid trips during 7-9:30 am and 3-6pm if going with traffic. Otherwise, it’s not bad at all down here.
Recently stayed at a resort in Carlsbad that I enjoyed a lot, and I wouldn't say it's too far from the city? You are required to hit Lucha Libre Taco Shop on your way to the airport leaving though, FYI.
I was at Aviara, and if I missed a water slide at that smuggy place I'm going to be very disappointed in myself.
L.A county approved the Centennial development at Tejon Ranch. 19,000 homes to be built off the 5. Tejon Ranch is a treasure, I spent a few years working at the conservancy there, kind of heartbreaking that this will forever change the southern portion. It's one of the last great unspoiled tracts of land in California. Where they're gonna build is pretty desolate with areas of dense chaparral, really high fire risk. It's also where the California Condor population has been making a comeback in the last few decades. This is just a shortsighted money grab, disregarding what just happened with Woolsey fire. 19,000 homes, 57,000 people, and only one major road out towards the 5, real fucking smart.
It's so far away from most of LA, who is going to live out there? Seems like only people that work in Santa Clarita and maybe Bakersfield
