Hollywood hasn’t had electricity since halftime of the Buc’s game yesterday. Living in the dark ages over here.
I’m at blue heaven, waiting in line to get my dad his first dose. Just a remarkable example of coordination and organization.
What are restaurant/beach restrictions currently + what are they likely to be in April looking at San Diego trip end of April
generally - you can go to restaurants for outdoor seating and take out beaches are open and have been for a long time
I wouldn't be surprised if there is indoor service by then. Orange County and some other places don't give a shit.
Newsom is just hanging himself at this point: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...sno-restaurant-indoor-dining-not-allowed.html I'm on the city council call tomorrow - should be an interesting one to say the least.
pretty sure i talked about newsome being a fucking dipshit a few years ago in here sucks it took a pandemic for it to come to light
Outdoor seating open everywhere. Some restaurants allowing people to sit inside at tables and the bar. I’ve also seen a couple bars open with no food service. Beaches are open.
Perfect. Yea just wanted to make sure there'd be places with outdoor options rather than everything being to-go. And the beaches obviously.
He's really been a dumbass during the pandemic. There's not much worse than politicians making up rules then thinking they don't apply to them
Garcetti is arguably worse - and our council is one foot out the door so doesn't care at all. Really fucking annoying. The CRA (California Restaurant Association) sued for the county to provide reasoning or proof of potential harm to justify the deviation from the state plan when they banned outdoor dining. The county had zero evidence of anything as proven in court - but still appealed which kept us closed for outdoor even longer. Clown show.
https://www.calvax.org/reg/0413762593 Got my vaccine by signing up here. Plenty of open spots right now. All you need is ID, insurance card, and proof of employment. They don’t seem to care where you work or what your occupation is. But I signed up under ‘entertainment’ as my profession
Are you sure they won't ask for proof of employment at the site? I have escorted a few older family members at various sites and they required proof of eligibility.
Your link is to the location you put in. I tried putting in multiple dates and different zip codes and it isn't showing anything.
Also, the available appointments have already passed. I did reg'd for an expired appointment and then chose to reschedule for waiting list. Maybe they'll alert me to an available dose. I'm willing to travel.
My wife got on last night and got us both appointments for today. I would keep checking appointments for a new day and then just register again
they ask for employment but I work for a production company and they took it. My wife doesn't even have a job right now, just showed an offer letter from last year and they accepted it.
Is there a trick to using that site to book an appointment? I used 3 different zip codes in LB, LA and OC and changes the dates for the next month and got nothing.
Also, technically I am an essential worker and have a letter from the city I work in from last March/April.
Have some fun protests and vandalism in my hood at the moment while having to walk several women a few blocks. Another day in Hollywood.
I'm pretty hardcore on making sure female staff are walked to their car when they leave and sometimes they will park pretty far away. Hollywood isn't exactly the safest area.
Hearing that vaccination appointments have been opening up on Rite Aid, Walgreens, and CVS sites. Early AM seems to be the way to book it. Anybody know what type of info they ask for when showing up? Technically I am an essential worker, I just don't want to book and then show up and get turned away.
my friends have been telling me besides ID nothing else, they aren’t asking questions or probing deeper beyond the questionnaire online u fill out for the appointment
Anyone into pickleball or know of good spots to play? Just started playing and realize I need a challenge somewhere between playing my wife and getting smoked by the regulars at Darby Park
Absolutely beautiful driving down PCH to Laguna this afternoon. Days like today are why we live here.
Yea. It’s fun… make sure you get in line at least a hour earlier than they start letting folks in. Depending how much you love Lord Huron make sure to bring a blanket and chairs that are low enough enough you don’t get in peoples way of their view. And bring food and drinks of your choice for sure.
I haven’t done the Hollywood Cemetery in two years but it’s a good time. I used to live near it so an easy trek
Also, depending on where you are. Drive and don’t waste money on an Uber. You can find parking, and they offer parking I believe. But I always found street parking
Yeah, everything fsuNizz said. I've been to probably ~3-4 concerts there and a bunch of the Cinespia screenings at the cemetery. Key is to drive and park a couple blocks away or Uber drop off a couple blocks away - parking on-site and Uber drop-off on-site is a cluster. Also, people get to these things insanely early, its almost like a 'running of the bulls' situation at gate opening and there's a huge queue. If its a doors at 7, show at 8 type situation, I'd get there at least 6:15ish to line up in the queue. There were a couple cemetery movie screenings where we'd get there at like 7:10 with a 7 PM door opening and there would already be hardly any spots to put our blankets down. Not sure how much has changed post-COVID but bring plenty of food/drinks and enjoy it
Last screening I saw was Chinatown a couple years ago. We showed up a hour early and still like 40 people in front of us I think.
