Been in the car for 2.5 hours. I'm on the 710 1 exit before where they shut down all lanes due to flooding and one car is under water.
thank you for your service. My sister in law recently did jury duty, she told me after the fact that it was a robbery case. She had us guess how much was stolen. I guessed something worth about $5,000. So a guy walks into Walmart and takes out skull candy ear buds and walks out....$18 dollar ear buds and a full jury trial! The reason he was charged with robbery (theft + force) was the security guard allegedly saw him and confronted him outside of the store and tried to grab him. The security guard said that the defendant tried to swing at him as he ran away. No contact made and no evidence that it happened. 3 day trial and they found him guilty of petty theft and not guilty of felony robbery. What a waste of time.
Driving eastbound on the 10 through downtown I made the mistake of being in the fast lane. The opposite traffic has flood spots so when cars went over said spots a wall of water splashed over the median wall on my car and blinding me. I don't know how I didn't crash.
carpool stickers got me to work in 45 minutes on 405 south downside is that I got to work 15 minutes earlier than usual
Going to LA in Nov. to visit my buddy for 6 days. His dad is coming up from SD and bought us all tickets for USC vs. Arizona. Visiting the Coliseum will be my first ever away game (never been to other SEC venues, Clemson or even a bowl game). He lives in the Orsini Apartments in downtown LA. Read it's a shithole and homeless sleep outside around the place. Got to go to LA for a day when I went to Vegas last August, but didn't get to do or see much. Definitely hitting up the Original Tommy's again though.
The Coliseum isn't going to wow you and the area around it is pretty shitty. Suggestions for tailgating would be to check out the campus and then make your way across campus and check out the scenes around the stadium. Traddies aka Traditions is the on campus bar. After the game, make sure you get a ghetto dog, bacon wrapped hot dog, on the way to your car.
The bus ride was a pleasant experience. Fast, relatively comfortable, not crowded, and dropped me right in front of the courthouse.
His dad is taking us to the place Mark Sanchez got caught with that underage girl or whatever. 901 Club?
Homeless people sleeping around the place is just another way of saying he lives in Los Angeles. Would be interested to see what he thinks of the place - it's one of those mega apartment complexes downtown that look tempting to live in but may just be too large for it's own good. They're building a couple more of those and trying to make downtown be the new attractive place to live in LA. Had a friend move into a new place downtown called the Emerson. She's paying an ungodly amount per month and living downtown is usually a discount to living in WeHo / Santa Monica / Manhattan Beach, but it's a pretty beautiful place (at least for now while it's brand new). http://www.related.com/apartment-rentals/los-angeles/downtown/the-emerson
Yeah the Nine O is how it's pronounced so you can sound like you know what you are talking about. It's on the opposite side of campus from the Coliseum and a good 20 minute walk to the Coliseum.
This so much. I had one of those today downtown in the fabric district (GF is a costumer). Usually we eat at the hole in the wall Persian kabob places but grabbed a hot dog instead. Shit was damn good. They also put a bit of avocado on it too.
it's so weird that in a city (or nation for that matter) where the most regulated thing is the food, illegals can steal shopping carts, strap a bunson burner to it and slang them shits but fuck if they aren't delicious
Need the clicks yo (for drought awareness) https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/31970-shavewater-project?locale=en
Speaking of drought, my gal and I got our water usage down to 12 ccfs this last billing cycle (two months per bill). We're crushing it.
Shooting at The Comedy Store last night, first murder in WeHo in a year. I live about a mile away on the sunset strip and going to comedy shows there or laugh factory is one of me and my girlfriend's favorite things to do. Really fucked up that you can no longer feel safe anywhere really. http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-man-killed-comedy-store-20151014-story.html
Not drought related, but I got a $30 credit on my power bill from Edison for a "CA Climate Credit." Have a credit on my account now
see those don't make me nervous. Maybe they should be it's obvious that guy was the target. The theater shootings make me nervous.
101 Freeway Shut Down Snarls Traffic in Studio City Traffic on both sides of the 101 Freeway in Studio City came to a halt Friday afternoon when police shut down the highway to deal with a man who was threatening to jump from an overpass. Live Traffic Map Updates: Download the FREE NBCLA App The northbound side of the freeway was closed at Lankershim Boulevard and the southbound side at Vineland Avenue, the California Highway Patrol said. Officers responded about 1:30 p.m. to the Campo de Cahuenga bridge, where a man in his 30s was standing on the edge of the overpass.

Heading to it Friday night at Santa Anita Park. My girl found tix for 16.50 so I'm in. I plan to get a few quality beers in me first.

Anyone watching Mission Viejo vs Bellermine in the state championship game? MV is up 12-0 at halftime. Cool story if they win. Brock Johnson, the qb for Mission V is legendary coach Bob Johnson's grandson, son of Bret (UCLA), nephew of Rob (USC). Bret and Rob are both assistant coaches for their dad.
