We didn't feel it much here - just glasses shaking and house moving. Housemate was in the shower and said she didn't feel it at all (yes I know I'm walking into a joke there) but she didn't notice it and I barely did. But I'm sure other areas of course felt it a lot more.
My worst was maybe 2013ish and was on a rooftop in a kitchen - people were losing their minds and it's a miracle no one got injured in the kitchen. Shit was flying everywhere. That's the only bad one I've experienced.
Only one that was really bad was the Northridge earthquake when I was a kid. I remember my cat freaking out ramming herself into the door of my brother's and my room trying to get us up and I was like what is going on and then it hit. We lived by some powerlines then and a generator exploded so was quite the light show while my cat freaked the fuck out
Just grabbed some tickets for Iron and Wine at the Bellweather? I know it’s a new venue, but anybody been? cc: supercity
So there have been 2 murders in my neighborhood in the last 2 weeks due to bar fights. One shooting outside of a bar and then a stabbing in a Dave’s Hot Chicken.
One opened up in December a couple blocks down the road from the corner that has Chic-Fil-A and Raising Canes in our town. Haven't been yet, either. Been to that CFA twice and Canes once since they opened last summer. Not really our kind of dining.
Stabbings aside, Dave's is pretty solid. fattus I'm pretty sure Southern Spice is the best Indian spot in Irvine but a lot of people like Annapoorna also if you haven't already hit that yet.
My son had a baseball tournament yesterday and due to the rain the games got pushed back to 5 and 7pm. This location in Long Beach. https://maps.apple.com/?address=1545 W 31st St, Long Beach, CA 90810, United States&auid=18194652536842925144&ll=33.814525,-118.213298&lsp=9902&q=Silverado Park&t=h One parent on our team pulled their kid after dark for “safety reasons.” I sorta think of the Kobe soft gif. Can’t protect your kids forever especially in a well lit park with 100~ people around. How bad is this neighborhood? Didn’t seem great tbh.
I’m not familiar with that area personally but West LB is not a great area. Agree with you that you would have been fine.
we had pop Warner games all the time at Jordan high in north Long Beach off the 710/91 when I was a kid. I remember we’d always leave in big groups if the game ended after dark.
Anyone seen those Waymo cars around town yet? I saw one driving around KTown a couple weeks ago and have to say its pretty weird to pull up at a stoplight alongside an empty car.
They were everywhere in Scottsdale when I was out there. Very odd. Seems bad for traffic but what do I know.
I just got done with the Chamber meeting (wtf schedules a 3 hour, 8:30am meeting for people that all work) Anyways there were multiple council members there and members or Garvey and Schiff’s teams and it seemed to be pretty openly acknowledged that it’ll be a Schiff ass kicking in the general even by Garvey’s people. Obviously Weho was a foregone conclusion but this was a more defeatist tone than I’m used to hearing. FWIW/grain of slaw.
We are getting slammed by rain/hail and serious thunder/lightning that's rattling windows here in Monrovia.
Billboard companies and daytime tv mourn everywhere. All the lower income people he and his firm swindled probably have a smile.
Him and all the local news people still on the air since I was a kid i assume are 120 year old vampires
The original "Larry H. Parker got me 2.1 million" client was always shown waist up. Larry didn't want people to know that he lost his legs and he was only able to get a million per limb.
I havent watched in awhile but Raines was a few years ago. Rob Fukuzaki drinks the blood of children. He looks exactly the same since I was 7
He’s still doing it!? His younger brother lived 2 houses down from us. Jim gave my pop warner team a pep talk when I was like 11. lol marc Brown still going?
Announcer: Larry H. Parker is dead folks ***cracked glass*** Announcer: Dear god that’s Sweet James Bergener’s music
