Much appreciated boys. Will look into all of these but are there any that would be preferable for a nice date (assuming the Italian spots are some of these)?
TJ style tacos yes. If you want some other suggestions outside of real nice date like restaurants, consider these: Consider visiting Cuatro Milpas in Logan. Yes its kinda hood around there and if you go, expect a long wait during lunch hours. They only open for so many hours daily, but it's some of the best traidional mexican food. Logan is right across the Coronado bridge. Salud! Mexican food right up the street from Cuatro Milpas has delicious street style tacos. Por Vida a couple of doors down from Salud! is a real good coffee shop. Some of best taco shops are Lolita's, Adalberto's, or Roberto's. Lolita's is my favorite and their red salsa is (IMO) the best in the city. Order a Cali burrito or California fries Soda & Swine and Polite Provisions for cocktails and good burgers/subs/meatballs. My favorite breakfast/brunch spot would be Cafe 21. They make most things from scratch, fresh local ingredients, have organic, and gluten free options, and have an awesome mimosa flight that my wife loves. Liberty Station has a Stone brewery, Slaters 50/50, and Liberty Public Market (LPM). Other cool, smaller places to eat & drink as well. LPM is a smaller version of like Pike Place in Seattle.. 22 food/drink shops in one huge building. Coasterra is awesome, fancy, and delicious. Seafood spot right on the bay near the airport. Candelas on the Bay is another really good seafood spot and its on Coronado island. Lots of Pokemon on Coronado as well... just in case you're playing. Mostly by Hotel del, the ferry landing, and on Orange ave.
Gonna run to Olvera St. and pick up some taquitos from Cielito Lindo to surprise my folks for lunch. My dad worked downtown for 25 years and used to eat them on the reg. Can't remember the last time they had some.
Can we compile a definitive list of top restaurants by style and add it to the OP? And then, meet at every place once a week and all be best frand
I took the girl a few months ago when the Gold Line opened. Walked Olvera, had some taquitos, then a drink at Union station before hopping back on the train. Was a fun afternoon of people watching.
For Lebanese: Marouch on Santa Monica west of Vermont And Carnival on woodman north of Ventura East coast pizzeria: Vito's on la cienega south of Santa Monica
Went to Porto's yesterday, what a fucking mad house that place is. They must have had 75 staff behind the counter, line out the door.

Measure M slightly leading (needs 66% to pass) as of now. Rail under the Sepulveda Pass one of the biggest projects of the measure. All these young kids are going to have so much better public transportation than we did. http://theplan.metro.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/factsheet_measurem.pdf
19 of them. Had 2 death penalty ones which was interesting, had a couple extra Marijuana ones since Long Beach is weird, plus the porn star condom measure.
Hey, can any of you talk to me about the Edwards AFB, Palmdale, Mojave area? Plenty of aviation jobs in that area, just gathering info about living there.
It's a High Desert and a bit secluded, so very hot in the summer and can get damn cold in the winter, and lots of wind. Played lots of soccer there growing up. A lot of people moved there from L.A. because of more affordable housing. Santa Clarita, Valencia, Stevenson Ranch are 40 miles west of Lancaster/Palmdale. Those are some nice communities.
Kickin' some ass in the State Bowl Championships. 4-0 over the north and St. John Bosco is up 21-14 late in the first over De La Salle.
Yeah, real down year for NorCal football. That said NorCal ended up winning 6/13 bowl games this past weekend, just not the televised games. St. Mary's was a big disappointment, probably the only upset that we saw in Sac this weekend. All games in Sac were extremely close except for the DLS game where they went against legit the 2nd best team in the nation. DLS will retool and win state next year, but man they got their asses handed to them this year. This was also the worst or second worst DLS team in the past 30 years so I kind of saw this coming.
I was just in San Diego for the Holiday Bowl staying in Little Italy and we ate at Ironside Fish & Oyster and the Crack Shack. We went to a couple nondescript places in the Gaslamp as well, but those two stood out. Coronado was like the Truman show it was so pristine. The whole area was just gorgeous; would love to live there.

Huntington Beach police received a call from a witness 11:08 p.m. regarding a strong-arm robbery occurring at the 7-11 at 706 Pacific Coast Highway, Officer Jennifer Marlatt said. The witness said a very large group went into the store stealing items while others in the group pushed and shoved the clerk, she said. Marcos Rodriguez, an employee in 7-11’s asset protection department, said Sunday one worker was on duty when 16 people entered the store. Some of them made off with at least $1,000 in merchandise but didn’t take any cash, he said. The worker was not injured and the remained closed until 1:35 a.m. The group then got onto a private party bus that drove north on Pacific Coast Highway. Officers stopped the bus a short distance away, Marlatt said. There were about 80 people on the bus, requiring Huntington Beach police to request assistance from Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Seal Beach and Laguna Beach police departments, she said. Seven loaded handguns were recovered on the bus. During the investigation, officers arrested Isiah Bryant, 21 of Los Angeles and Wynzel Worthan, 18, of Compton for robbery and conspiracy. They were booked into Huntington Beach Jail. All other passengers on the bus were interviewed and released. The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible, Marlatt said. The bus, owned by LPB Inc. based in Whittier, was boarded by the group in Nickerson Gardens, a public housing complex in Watts, said Marlatt. A man who answered the phone at LPB Inc. on Sunday and declined to give his name said the bus had been sold but he could not say to whom. LPB Inc. was denied a Transportation Charter Class B Certificate in December 2014, according to the California Public Utilities Commission.
Everybody make it through the storm of the century ok? I had some water intrusion at the bottom of a sliding glass door but some caulking on Saturday seems to have done the trick. My folks found out the hard way that their roof wasn't up to the task.
Last year when we had a little bit of rain in October, the roof at my girls apartment collapsed. It was terrible
Been in Vegas for work, but it's rained here too. But sounds like this was a pretty good storm. Saw a video from a work friend driving back to LA from Vegas where it was snowing.
A few months late bc I don't see this thread that often but thanks to you and everyone else for their Coronado/SD recs. Went to a few you and SD_Irish reccomended and they were great. Also, tell your boy at Trattoria Fantastica that the gf and I had an excellent time there. Not sure what the foodies/critics think of the place but we had a blast and the food and service were outstanding. Will definitely go back the next time I'm in the area.
yeah that's the thing about Trattoria Fantastica. It's not a foodie place I don't think but we always have fun and the food/service is great.
