Obviously the epic comeback versus Houston will always resonate but I’ll always remember this match because I was able to kop these tickets for $25 a piece 10 mins before kickoff. This was Smiths first ever game and his family was a few rows behind us. Had no clue until after the match why this group of 5 people were freaking the fuck out over Graham Smith.

FSKC just replayed the 2015 open cup with Melia and Peterson on commentary. We all remember Jordi Quintilla hitting the winning PK. Jake gave the full story. He subbed in during ET and PV told him after the initial 5 takers, he had to appoint the next taker or take it himself. So Zusi nails the 5th to tie it and Jake tells Ellis he’s next up. Ellis nails it. Jake then said I’m going next unless someone wants to step up. No one makes eye contact. He said Quintilla was actually standing behind the line of players. Then Philly miss their PK, Jake gives himself a little pep talk, looks up, and Quintilla is sprinting toward the spot. He makes it obviously. Then after the match he tells the media “I told Jake, it’s my turn to go, I got this.” Peterson said he was so pissed because he should of been the game winner but wasn’t pissed because they still won the cup.
Really sucks about Feli. With Alan, our wingers, Gadi pulling strings, put Feli&Rog behind him as enforcers, the two best service full backs in the league. We would of been deadly. Silver lining, we’ll get more Busio. But we will probably need to add a MF at some point if Kuzain can’t step up.
Sounds like their skirting the homegrown territory rule by having him sign “outside” the league (since SKC2/SPR is technically USL). But clearly he’s just going to join SKC2 and the Sporting academy.
Now I would guess if he does get a first team contract some day he wouldn’t be able to be signed as a Sporting homegrown but I wouldn’t think an 18 year old Hungarian living in Síofok could be signed as a “homegrown” either:
