Fuck Trigger on this opinion. He mostly writes some decent stuff. But he is confirming to his audience to an extent.
Literally the only gripe I can have is the mixing, which forces me to turn it louder which only makes it better
I feel like Fastest horse in town will be in the heavy rotation for the next forty years or so for me.
If you write a review that you know “will be misunderstood by both sides” maybe you’re not a very good writer?
That site is good for finding new music and little else. I wanted to punch the screen when he called Sturgill selfish for making music he wanted to make.
How dare he do what he wants as an artist and not the make the music I want to hear? What a selfish asshole.
Trigger taking his Sturgill Simpson ball and going home, but putting his hopes of country music revolution in the hands of ...Cody Jinks and Whitey Morgan? Good luck with that, Trig.
His article in June or July was clamming for people to not do what he is doing. He just thinks this album is music shit and went off the rails. IMO
Anybody who gets mad at an artist for expressing their art how they want has big "Yell 'I Pay Your Salary' at a Parking Attendant" energy.
Finally got around to listening to the new album. Was worried I wouldn’t like it. my goodness. This is one of my favorite albums of the last 5-6 years
Lol what is this guy https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/sturgill-simpson-bringing-sound-fury-comics-1245023 Sturgill will collaborate with 'Avengers' and 'Thor' writer Jason Aaron on a graphic novel based on his latest album.
This album is amazing, and I've never been more triggered by buttfuck country fans that are upset by it. Reminds me of Walk Hard.
Holy fucking shit sturgill blew the roof off in DC tonight. Played the new album start to finish which was incredible then played a bunch of older stuff. So damn good
I also watched it drunk this weekend. I had no idea what I was watching but was similarly transfixed. Couldn’t really follow the story at all couldn’t take my eyes off. Definitely feels like it needs some sort of substance enhancer to watch.
TIFWIW Rumor I heard last night from talking with a crewman with Jason Isbell is the upcoming tour with Tyler will be arena shows.
Again, this came from someone in the industry with another band that it was something he heard. Sturgill does say on the lastest JRE he doesn't like playing amphitheatres. It described as this big tin roof with this picnic in the back. Something like that
Posters with dates on them are popping up in cities today. Looks to be a viral marketing campaign around the upcoming tour. So far we’ve got: Columbus: 3/20 Chicago: 4/3 San Francisco: 5/5 Boston: 5/15 NYC: 5/16 Nashville: 5/22
I need to know more. Where is this said poster in Nashville. I must find it. * I don't expect an answer.
