S&F is mood music to me. It’s not bad, it’s just got to be the right time. The rest of his catalog is no skip anytime.

Sunday Valley is legit great, but there’s also plenty of stuff out there of similar sound and quality. There ain’t much of anything that sounds like Sound & Fury, which is part of what makes it so special.

I do appreciate them saying that they couldn’t understand anything Sturgill said. I thought it was just me.
I will be slightly disappointed if Sturgill doesn't play S&F front to back in Nashville because of these fucks.

CLT Arena review: TCC started at 7:30 sharp as previously noted. Crowd was about half full, filled in after a couple songs. After the fill in, was surreal to see TCC in an arena. He is on a helluva run. Happy for him. 1 hour 15 minute set - tight as hell. Got Hwy 40 Blues. In between sets, the wounded warrior that is on the tour comes out and gives about a 10 minute talk about his story, supporting veterans, etc. Justin Lascek https://www.instagram.com/justin.lascek/ Sturgill's set was as expected. S&F in order. I went to get a beer and that took about 5 songs. So that was fine. Beer lines ridiculous and reminder why I hate arena shows. Of note on Sturg: he was far more into the show than I anticipated. The UPROXX article was an act. It is obvious he enjoys playing and performing. He played about 4 or 5 songs longer than I thought he would. Back half of the set was enjoyable, except you can't really hear/understand most of what he sings, which has also been noted. Overall very good show.
I got the impression from listening to him over the years that he loves performing but hates everything else about being on the road.
Sound and Fury translates amazingly well to the arena setting. Absolutely blown away by the production last night. The synths and guitar driven rock fuck hard. Childers was great, but Sturgill is in a league with few others right now.
