So Dark defender has gone from implying that they could be competing for titles to CL spot to Europa. Quite impressive bactrack we have here
Technically the first time i read it, I'm pretty sure he just said a spot in Europe, which I took as finishing top 7. It's not really his fault people jumped to conclusions. And I absolutely agree with him that last year's villareal team could have competed with Liverpool, Everton and Fulham. Next year's team? Probably not if they sell off all their assets like they are planning.
So he was stating the obvious? Top 7 is mediocre in every league and I hope the 4th la liga team can accomplish that
Thank you for your reading comprehension. Severely lacking in the past few pages of the thread. This is what I said: "I just love how a faggot like Watson tries to call out me for saying they would do well in any league. Note the line "do well". That doesn't mean compete for a title, just means compete for a European spot." I know I don't hang out in "Chatzy" or play video games with you guys, but if anyone should be getting called out its a douche like Watson.
I wouldn't know how to make a "meme" if you held a gun to my head...so I've got that going for me...which is nice. Pretty good one though.
Don't worry, I won't stay here long. Not a big fan of group think. As for the Gerrard stuff. I'm going to ask you a question and I want an honest answer. Did you either eat paint chips and/or get dropped on your head as a kid? Honest question. No joke. You claimed that Liverpool's success was a result of Rafa and that we were "lucky" to even have him. Liverpool won Rafa's only trophy almost solely because of Gerrard. Were you even a Liverpool fan then? Liverpool needed two goals from Gerrard to beat lowly Grazer AK to even reach the group stage of CL. Then wouldn't have even made it out of the group stage if not for a very late Gerrard stunner (maybe you've seen it?) against Olympiacos. Then were getting their ass handed to them 3-0 in the final until Gerrard's header. Gerrard then drew the penalty that tied the game. The dude single handily willed them to the title. Good grief guy, just let it go.
You forget about the FA Cup tophy? Rafa also has 2 La Liga titles with Valencia and a Uefa Cup, as well as Italian Supercup and Club World Cup. Who scored the first two goals in the Olimpiacos comeback? Sinama Pongolle who Rafa subbed in and Neil Mellor who Rafa subbed in. Who gave the halftime speech in Istanbul. It is well documented that the players were moved by what went down in the locker room at half time.
You mean the FA Cup where Steven Gerrard tied the final in injury time with a 35 yard half volley? In addition to an awesome goal that tied the game 2-2. Yea that was all Rafa. I never once said Rafa did nothing. I liked the guy and didn't want him to go, but to say Liverpool was "lucky" to have him is asinine. Rafa and Liverpool are lucky to have Stevie G.
The man embodied everything that the club is about and never gave up, even when dealing with a couple of jackass owners. In that, we are lucky to have had him as a manger of the club. Thank God we are also lucky to have another great manager at the moment, instead of going through a Roy Hodgson or Graeme Souness type manager again.
Back on topic, what's going on at Roma? Looking forward to the new youth direction the team will be taking.
Yeah me too you don't know how much I hated the current group. Looks like Bojan, Clichy, Lamela, Alvarez, and one of Stekelenberg or Viviano are good bets to be in Rome. I would imagine another CB and maybe a couple Barca guys. Also I really hope Vucinic decideds to stay. Mexes hurt me and throwing on Vuci and I would be upset. Should be fun to see the new team and I like the choice of manager instead of some Italian(minus Carlo) I do wish they would just sign some one though at this point because the rumors are starting to get tiring.
Inter are ridding themselves of Africans. Obinna going to Russia, Muntari going to Turkey, Obi going to Parma, seems like Mariga is going to be sold. Eto'o will be the only one remaining. Good management
What I have heard is Bojan's buy back is 15(12 would have been BS) at the end of his 2nd year. I am pretty happy with this
I am just happy Roma has a decent player under the age of 27 No more old washed up fucks like Adriano and Luca Toni
Think it's a great deal for both parties involved. Bojan won't crack the starting 11 within the next 2 years. Get him some time somewhere else and possibly spend what, like 5 mil (I believe Roma is giving us 10 mil) to get him back after two years if we choose?
Yeah as I said $12 mil buyback would have been bullshit and more risk than reward but I can live with $15 mil. If Barca wants to be super nice Roma will take Montoya and Thiago off of their hands.
Raphael Varane goes from Lens to Real Madrid, really talented CB. He pretty much started the entire Ligue 1 season as a 17 y/o.
Same can be said for many huge teams that transfer in young players, Madrid should loan him to a La Liga club for the entire season. If not, it will just be like another Sergio Canales situation.
I think they will loan a couple players out this year unless they start dealing people away. Especially if they are still pursuing guys like Neymar and Coentrao. I wish they would shop some of our midfielders. I know their still pursuing Aguero as well which means Adebayor is gonna sign somewhere else thank god.
