Welp, after the pain that was this morning, Phish goes and drops one of my favorite shows ever for Dinner & A Movie. 7/24/93....holy fucking shit. Why do you toy with my emotions so? Going out in style, maybe the last D&AM.
Caught the Goose show in Charleston. That fucked. Been wanting to see This Old Sea. Didn’t get anything in the Phish lottery and TM shit the bed on the runs I tried to get. Didn’t think I could hate TM any more but the dynamic pricing thing is a joke. In for both nights of Goose in ATL and NYC.
Not sure which party decides when, but yes. Pods for Charleston were showing up for twice as much as identical ones in the same section. It took a few before I could get one in my cart and you never knew what price would be there when you refreshed to get another. https://help.ticketmaster.com/s/article/How-are-ticket-prices-and-fees-determined?language=en_US
The queue system threw me off for Panic RRX tickets this morning. Wasn’t expecting it at all or I’d have gotten on earlier. Buddy got me a Sunday and I may have a Saturday lined up. Now the question is whether I should go to Aspen Jazz on Friday and Saturday and Panic on Sunday, or just stick to Panic in Denver. Will be in Crested Butte for a bachelor party 2 weeks later, so that complicates things. After not doing shit last year, I’m enjoying these “tough” decisions.
I was just reading the reviews from this concert and apparently this was the most important concert of their careers to this point. Great Woods was by far the biggest amphitheater in their "home region" and they sold it out whilst trying to prove their success wasn't a fluke. Super tight without much improv. Pretty much just showing off the chops
I can see that. Definitely look like they are playing with a purpose. Super tight and lots of energy. The 2nd set holds true to that as well. It’s a heater but kindof in the same vein as 6/11/94 where everything is just straight hot fire, but not as exploratory. And people have always speculated that show was played purposeful in a certain style as well due to it being broadcast on the radio. But ‘93 was kindof like that anyway. Their was some weirdness, but that didn’t really amp up until August.
Also, touching again on the straight forward style, the exploration really hadn’t been fleshed out at that point. Kind of like tweezer from a live one. To the uninitiated, it can sound like racket
I love this, probably one of the cooler acapellas I've heard. Not to knock the other ones, but this one is just unique. Don't hear many bands singing Jewish prayers in the middle of sets.
WTF was that blues riff in Paug. It’s not on .net. If that’s the case, was there a mind left body jam during the first set?
There’s something about Daniel Saw the Stone. Probably in the top 5 songs I’m chasing to see live because of 7/29/03
Also Vasudo is basically Goose. So that plus agoostic set is basically goose 6 times over the weekend
Would highly recommend Tumble until the end of the show. Whole show is great, but if your not really not a goose person it’s a nice little run of songs
