Pretty dope since they had to cancel the show. Goose gives out so much free content. Win win for fans and them. Good marketing to spread the word and fans win too
Nice consolation for not being there this weekend I guess. I was at two of those shows. I was able to get refunds on everything but my hotel room. My dumbass did a non-refundable Priceline deal on that.
Yeah. I’m concerned Chicago New Years could be an issue, but we booked everything with travel insurance so should be fine
Starting to wonder what shows actually happen for New Years Billy and Goose cancelled this weekend. NYC is a hot spot so wonder if the government says no more concerts here soon.
yeah. I pretty sure my Chicago NYE Goose run is going to be a bust. May end up canceling it myself. Just doesn’t seem a like a good time to go to Chicago anyway.
Brock is one of the best lyricists in the jam scene, in my opinion. Lots of great recordings up on Archive, especially his Sunday morning Brockfast sets from Amberland.
It’s their lighting guys last show after 7 years with them. They probably going to blow it out. He wants to focus on family and focus on his other programming gig
I’m having a surprising amount of difficulty finding these on my phone. Care to link one? Loved those sets back in the day
It’s like a 600 person hole in a wall of a venue too. I was surprised when they announced it but know there’s a lot of competition for NYE None so far. Kharungbin just came through at the Bomb Factory
Thanks. I realized the Relisten app’s Sonos integration didn’t include Brock and that was the cause of the difficulty. I unfortunately never made it to an Amberland but my friends who did always spoke of it like it was something special. Kinda sorta tempted to go in 2022
My dad and I have our tickets for it next year. I'm really interested to see how different it is from the ones they held at Cherokee Farms. I think what really made Amberland special was the fact that it was always very loose, and the size of it helped keep it more laid back than, say, Summer Camp, even when the band tried bringing other bands onto the fest.
I'll be shocked if this is the only NYE run that gets canceled on short notice. Have heard reliably that Phish is strongly considering canceling their MSG shows next week as well.
I mean, what are these bands going to do if even one of them gets sick during the run? Find a replacement musician and play 3 chord covers?
I can’t see this, but the current rumor is Phish will postpone until April, which seems like a good compromise. Sucks for folks with flights and hotels that aren’t refundable, but that’s kinda the risk you agreed to take.
My favorite Brock solo song off of his only solo album. There is a great version from maybe 2010 with horns that is killer. Amberland the best. Hot as hell but best. This one.
that's the correct decision, I think. (who knows, though, next variant could be worse. I only know there's going to be a next variant)
Lettuce canceled as well and it's sounding like Cheese, Gov't Mule, and MMJ are all getting close as well. I think at this point I'm gonna be more shocked at bands who decide to go ahead with their NYE shows.
Neither of them have, but Billy had to cancel String The Halls due to a sick crew member. Pretty sure ATL just reinstated an indoor mask mandate -- would cover the Panic and STS9 shows.
Can confirm the mask mandate. I know Billy said they were still planning on NYE at the time, but it seems like a matter of when, not if as you said.
Biscuits are the only ones I’ve seen so far (of course they would) They’re requiring you to get rapid tested before entering the venue and giving refunds to anyone that tests positive
Orebolo great chill music. So many Goose songs transition well to slow acoustic . Not their best set…. Recent sets on Nugs better, but none the less, good stuff. All sets a are a nice mix of goose and good covers. Really like the John Prine cover of Bruised Orange in the below set
