I've caught Goose here and there, but watching this stream is making me hate that I've really slept on them this long.
Depends when you caught them. For me I’ve liked them for a awhile, but this latest run really has been different. Really expanded some songs, etc. Ricks tone last night was the best I’ve heard it.
Like goose moderately. Wish they had some "darker" songs and would drop autotune completely. Also that coach guy is extremely annoying. Still listen/watch that peach fest show pretty regularly. What is the average age of their fanbase?
Not sure in age, but that handful of shows I’ve been too the crowd seems like mostly 30-40 range. Coach trying to force his way into the action can be annoying at times, but I guess the band loves their manager so they let him. They go dark a little, but it’s rare. Most of their lyrics are positive and Rick and Peter who write everything are generally upbeat guys, so I can see why they don’t often. Just not really their personalities. They really seem to embrace the let’s make this a party vibe when playing. Peter seems like he may be the nicest human on the planet. Just always positive, thankful, etc. Uber up beat nerd and that’s a good thing
I like Fish In The Sea which they played last night. Also That’s The Way It is. They also crush Green River by CCR
My biggest gripe with goose is the fans that want to do this whole phish comparison thing. Phish is not goose and goose is not phish. Phish is just a massive thing and it’s fantastic in it’s own unique way. I love Goose, but I got it last night, so it’s Phish tonight! I think it’s ok to compare music, but these dumb turf war arguments fans have is just stupid. Most fan bases in the jam scene or whatever you want to call it have these idiots though. No one in any of these bands is like “we are better than so and so”. In fact they most likely appreciate what each other is doing and respect the talent.
I mean todays slate is awesome. CFB playoffs, Phish Live Stream and if I’m up late enough I’ll watch the Goose one right after Phish. Doubt I make it that long. It’s like fucking being a kid at Xmas today though.
And for anybody that listened to Trey’s “Phish Year In Review” on SiriusXM last week he talks extensively about dusting off the Koa 1 for the first time in years and how he broke down crying. It was in rough shape though so he had it stripped down and rebuilt and the techs said it was playing amazing. He just recently got it back. Basically said he’s going to stick with it. And he has a completely new reverb set up that he was geeking out about. I’m not a guitar gear guy, but he was saying he found a way to isolate the reverb so it doesn’t become “mush” and now he can “move the reverb around the room backward and forwards.”

I had been told about OB for a week or so now from some friends, but was wondering since I hadn't seen anything here. Planning on being down there for those.
I might just do Deer Creek this year. Im kindof scared about 3 phish shows and 3 panic shows in south alabama and north Alabama, respectively, the same weekend. I might leave the state.
Damnt, I bought tickets to WSP in Huntsville for 5/27 - 29. I'm just going to remind myself how miserable OB is these days during big holiday weekends and stick with my current plan.... maybe
