Most popular dates rumor currently. Probably won’t go with “8 Ball” for obvious reasons, but we all know that will be the real name They could do “Magic 8 Ball” or something. 7/11/23 Huntsville, AL 7/12/23 Huntsville, AL 7/14/23 Alpharetta, GA 7/15/23 Alpharetta, GA 7/16/23 Alpharetta, GA 7/18/23 Wilmington, NC 7/19/23 Wilmington, NC 7/21/23 Burgettstown, PA 7/22/23 Burgettstown, PA 7/23/23 Syracuse, NY 7/25/23 Philadelphia, PA 7/26/23 Philadelphia, PA The 8 Ball 7/28/23 MSG 7/29/23 MSG 7/30/23 MSG 8/1/23 MSG 8/2/23 MSG 8/4/23 MSG 8/5/23 MSG 8/6/23 MSG 8/31/23 Dicks 9/1/23 Dicks 9/2/23 Dicks 9/3/23 Dicks
Been listening to so much old Phish lately. I have some thoughts. First of all, there are single sections of several Ghosts that I like more than any sections of Lakewood but more and more I feel like Lakewood really is the best fully formed complete Ghost. It's a perfectly composed, no filler 26 min jam. Flawlessly executed. Gives you every single look that Ghost has. It’s kinda staggering really.
Second, St, Paul ‘95 Reba continues to blow my fucking socks off. Trey does some shit at the end that I've never heard in Reba. That 95 subliminal wave shit. But to another level. He separates himself into two waves that shouldn't be able to coexist both coming from him at the same time. Just drilling this one thing fully enveloped and devoted to it. Then this other beast rears its head simultaneously. It fucks with me.
Both TAB and Goose are at Levitate Festival I just yolo’d and went all in on Peach Fest and then two nights of Goose at Asbury Park for the 4th.
In the dullness that was the halftime show who else was thinking "sure hope she doesn't get stuck up there and delay the whole game"
may the odds be ever in your favor 7 nights at MSG for two people would be 1,569.60 just for the tickets with the 7 night package discount.
Are they the perfect band? They somehow managed to keep getting bigger, but also keep getting better. And also what ever became of the the message lockn put up on their website last year? https://www.locknfestival.com/ I guess we’ll never see a lockn like there was in those first few years.
Lockn was an amazing experience every time I went. But when they started to consolidate the festival to the land they owned and not the old horse track, it was the beginning of the end.
Was walking by atlanta symphony hall last night and somebody said they weren’t checking tickets for Bobby. Walked right in and watched 2nd set. Security had given up on keeping anyone from entering without a ticket, much less keeping people in their seats. Days Between was beautiful. Shakedown was so cool.
It was strange. It was pretty packed. I don’t know how many people just walked in, or when they stopped checking. Security was still there. At the building entry, all the entries to the hall, and the ushers in the aisles. They just weren’t checking anything or moving anyone. I stood on the floor to the left and one of the ushers was filming most of the time. haha
Saw them a few times that tour including a week before The Roxy shows in scenic Bloomsburg, PA... believe that's the show Fish's mom was laughing at (*or with) me bc of how spun out I was. 30 fucking years ago... how did I get so old?
Introduce me to a band from the past that you were really into and expected to take off but never really gained much traction and eventually broke up. Tishamingo out of Athens, GA for me. They started around the time I got to college in 2002, and one of my pledge brothers was cousins with the drummer, so I got into them early and became a superfan. I probably saw them 50 times while in college.
Tishamingo was good. Saw them a few times. Seems like one time was the SAE house at Birmingham Southern and one time was at Bud and Alley’s
Ancient Harmony. Was big into them through the early 00s Atlanta music scene. Traveled to Atl a lot from 2000-2006. Lot of Blueground Undergrass shows.
I owe getting into this music when I was young to this guy and his group of friends. His first show was the 92 variety playhouse flood show that Trey references in the 2/19/93 mockingbird. Always looked at his ticket stubs in awe.
The Breakfast. I will never understand how they never made it big. One of the best guitar players in the scene at the height of his talent, intricate songwriting, monster type 2 jams. I have to chalk it up to mismanagement or never getting that break that they needed.
I remember finding these guys back when they were Psychedelic Breakfast. Loved them but never got to see them. RAQ was one I thought would blow up, but think Umphrey's has more momentum as the prog jam band and kept them from getting real national traction. They played a great show at MTSU around 2009-10 and hung around to party at my buddy's house. Was a great time. Addison Groove Project was another I absolutely loved. Got into that funk/jazz area, would've been a great pairing with Lettuce or Mastersounds. Unfortunately they broke up around '06 or '08 when their guitarist decided to go to med school. Remember having the chance to see them at Harvestfest '04 and caught a couple of songs, then my dad said he was going to see Bobby & Ratdog who was about to start. Decided Bobby might not be around much longer and the AGP guys were all 20-somethings. Made the right decision seeing Ratdog, but never got another chance to see AGP.
Honestly not bad. Typically, would prefer a smaller theatre-type venue to a stadium, but I thought sound was fine. The lights were on point too.
Their video screens are so nice. You got an Alberta cover debut. Most be working that one up for the Doc bday bash.
Alberta was cool. People around us were geeking for Ruby. I hadn't heard them cover Brain Damage before, so that was fun. The lights mimicking the Floyd prism was super cool
I know what I won't be catching this weekend now. Spoiler I caught one already. Last time the river froze over as a matter of fact.
Anybody getting Phish lottery responses? We put in 2 requests for Wilmington and Dicks. Got a congratulations on 1 set of Wilmington tickets, but nothing yet on the other requests.
It appears only multi-day passes were fulfilled yesterday. I got two 2-day Huntsville passes. Single-show request notifications should go out today. I did individual requests for all of Alpharetta and waiting to hear on those still.
