Indeed and he was on fire. I like the Crowes but have to be in the mood to put them on. It was good show. Anyone want to help me pick my jamcruise schedule. http://www.jamcruise.com/2011/onboard#schedule
Also did not enjoy the Phish Wating on Columbus. They did a good job with a couple songs, but they did Little Feat no justice. They did not have the vocals to pull it off.
I enjoyed it, but yeah, I generally agree w/ you. No one in that band can come close to matching Lowell's vocals, or even Paul's or Bill Payne's for that matter. Also, LF's sound is about having two guitarists playing in different tunings and playing off each other. Trey can't do that by himself, especially when he doesn't play slide.
Where is everyone going for NYE? I'm heading to Denver for Panic. We just grabbed a spot downtown for the week.
Kind of off the wall but I wil be watching these guys bellow(free show for me). I am heading out on Jamcruise a few days after so have to save my money. Dance This Mess Around • The B-52's
wow that schedule looks awesome...i would be at the mainstage(one bob weir plays on) the entire time.
Was listening to a railroad earth new years show today on my lunch break. Some of their better work, I will post exact date letter. Awesome version of Head and Warhead boogie.
Really enjoy this accoustic backstage version of Petal Down. Love the lyrics to this song. Felling mellow tonight. Assembly of Dust - Pedal Down (HD 720p)
Pretty bored and in a good mood. I am going to post versions of songs I can find as they come across the IPOD. Hope you enjoy if not, fuck it, it's my thread. Feel free to join in or discuss anything I post. The New Deal Langerado 2008 Technobeam
This song may not appeal to most, but if you let it progress it really is insane. The guitar solo really builds and is one of my favorite studio guitar solos of all time. I really encourage anyone to listen to the whole song from start to end. Put some trust in your boy DUCKMOUTH and let the whole thing play. Really would like to hear some feedback on this one. Have to click the link below the stream. The stream does not work. Oxbow | Strangefolk Song - Yahoo! Music
Umphrey's Mcgee - Baba O'Riley @ Party in The Park Rochester, NY 07/08/10 Umphrey's covering Baba O'Riley
Probably the most ridiculous thing i've ever seen in my life. They hired like 50 broadway actors to dress up as different groups from different countries and had them sing meatstick in their language Phish - Meatstick-Auld Lang Syne - New Year's Eve @ MSG
Panic just announced tour dates...they're playing Oak Mtn April 15th and 16th one night with charlie daniels I'm going to jizz all over the place
Speaking of Panic, I saw jojo's mardi gras band and stockholm syndrome last week. Enjoyed jojo's but stockholm was way to hard for me.
I can't really rank my individually, b/c they change all the time, but i'll try and rank them by tier (note--not all are jambands): TIER 1 Allman Brothers Grateful Dead Little Feat Widespread Panic Wu-Tang Clan TIER 2 The Band North Mississippi Allstars Talking Heads Government Mule Derek & the Dominoes TIER 3 Robert Randolph & The Family Band Jurassic 5 Tribe Called Quest Nas Tishamingo Rolling Stones (early 70's only) Smiling Assassins Phish Leftover Salmon Taj Mahal The Meters Professor Longhair moe. The Black Keys Bob Dylan Robert Earl Keen Johnny Cash Led Zeppelin TIER 4 The Raconteurs Disco Biscuits Dr. John Phil Lesh & Friends Bob Marley Jerry Jeff Walker CCR Frank Zappa The Word Steely Dan Stevie Wonder Jimi Hendrix Pink Floyd Outkast Drive-by Truckers TIER 5 STS9 Galactic Beanland RL Burnside Biggy Smalls Outformation Aquarium Rescue Unit Lynyrd Skynyd LCD Soundsysem The Beatles Traffic I'm sure there are several that I am forgetting I really like JoJo's Mardi Gras Band. They played a private party (about 200 people) I went to about a year ago. It was real tight. The Smiling Assassins, however, is Jojo's GOAT spinoff. I agree that Stockholm Syndrome blows.
Going to see P Groove tonight. Should be a good time. They played Thriller the last time they were in town.
I also hate Stockholm Syndrome.... Whenever I see Jerry Joseph walk up on stage to play with Panic I go take a piss
I was thinking about this thread the other day, what's the festival situation looking like this year? I'm waiting to see what All good looks like but hoping for a good season..
Don't get much better than Bear Creek, but that aint till November. There will be tons of all night shows during Jazz Fest at the local bars/music venues.
my probables for festivals this year SxSW Jazz Fest Hangout Waka Emerg n see Cheesebury Outlook Voodoo and whatever else i can squeeze in between
Anyone ever seen Zoogma or Noise Org? They're both playing tonight in Birmingham. Wondering if they are worth checking out.
both are quality up and coming bands. zoogma is more dubby..noise org is more jamz. my buddy plays guitar for noise org. they have come a long ways. they used to suck but don't so much any more. fwiw my buddy is def worth the money to see him play. dude is amazing on teh guitar
Rank Panic's studio albums, not necessarily just on the songs, but also on the versions played, production quality, and current lineup IMO: Tier 1 (1) Everyday (2) 'Til the Medicine Takes Tier 2 (3) Self-titled, aka, Mom's Kitchen (4) Space Wrangler (great tracks, but very incomplete w/o JoJo, but hey, I'm just a humble cunt) Tier 3 (5) Bombs and Butterflies (6) Ain't Life Grand (7) Don't Tell the Band (8) Earth to America (9) Dirty Side Down Tier 4 (10) Free Somehow (11) Ball
Widespread Panic 25th anniversary shows streaming right now http://fb.me/SRDUbPOp Just opened up with "For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield. JB said its the first song they ever played together
