Online music and arts festival Streamstock will kick off January 20, slated as an alternative to the Presidential Inauguration. Artists like Umphrey’s McGee, Hot Buttered Rum, Lettuce, Electric Beethoven, Tom Hamilton’s American Babies, Holly Bowling and others will appear to raise awareness for progressive causes as they webcast during the inauguration. Also included in the bill is the debut of a new project from Bill Kreutzmann, dubbed Bill Kreutzmann’s Rooster Conspiracy. More details about that project will be revealed in the coming days. Anyone with Facebook Messenger can download the Streamstock 2017 app for free. To do so, look up the app on the festival’s Facebook page. Just went to the Greensky show it Athens. I haven't listened to Greensky much and I thought the show was fucking awesome. A bunch of my friends who are big fans and took me were pretty disappointed in the songs they played, though.
Went to Lettuce tonight. Was alright. I've seen them at festivals before but I think they benefited from being in a smaller venue.
Had some buddies there. Lettuce is fun and great funk, but it's not some next level jam and doesn't leaving you chasing the sound like Phish, Dead, Cheese etc do
This should be interesting if any of yall are Jimmy Herring fans - http://liveforlivemusic.com/news/jimmy-herring-forms-new-band-invisible-whip/ Pretty solid group of musicians, but looks like it'll be heavily instrumental as I don't think any of them really do vocals.
Hoping we get some phish tour dates in the next few weeks. I remember last year seeming early but I think they announced first week of February. MSG dates seem to be locked in but I have heard some rumors that Dick's may be out this year, which would suck
I think folks are still holding out hope for Dicks and possibly some Chicago dates. Not sure on the likelihood of that though.
They say "no fall tour" but Dick's is really the end of summer tour. I'm fairly sure they'll just wait for the bulk of these tickets to sell then announce a Dick's run in a month or so. I haven't heard much about Chicago dates but will be furious if I book all this for NYC and then they announce a Chicago run. Booked flights for the first and last weekend, plan on catching seven of the thirteen.
I've seen them play all over the country since 04. The only common denominator is I always know someone I can stay with. I know no one in NYC and that seems like an outrageously expensive trip, even though one of the days is my birthday. I've been to dicks 3 years in a row and it's my favorite trip of the year. Would hate to break that streak
Air BnB is a must for NYC with the hotels being so small. If you can get a big enough group (8-10) you can still find some pretty cool places for relatively cheap (about 60-90 per night, per head). Flights are extremely cheap if you book right now; I got round trip flights for $223 yesterday for the first and last weekend. And I don't see tickets being too expensive.
Looks like they'll be announcing some additional west coast dates along with possibly Chicago for July along with Dick's labor day weekend. If they announce Chicago dates the week before the MSG run I will be mad at myself for booking stuff so early, because I would rather do Chicago/NYC/Denver than NYC/NYC/Denver. But we have a great crew for that first weekend at MSG so I won't be too upset either way.
Today Spun 1/27/17 moe today from Orlando last week: shit is fuckimg fire and they are cooking. 2.5 weeks till BHam. Anyone other than DazedandContused going?
I'll be there, beers on me. Apparently they're playing a late night show after the first phish MSG date. Moe's sounded great lately
Pretty sure Dick's is happening. Some internet detective did some impressive sleuthing and confirmed it
Guy pretended like he wanted to book dicks for a team building event and asked for Labor Day weekend and they confirmed it was booked by a concert that has been going on for 6 straight years.

DUCKMOUTH and anyone else interested: If you're going to be in NYC and going the non-Air BnB route you should strongly consider booking at the Courtyard New York --- Manhattan/Chelsea on West 30th Street. They have available rooms (1 king or 2 double) for around $200/night and the hotel is less than 4 blocks from the venue. I booked a room for Aug 4-7 and although I will probably end up in an Air BnB for July 21-24 I am about to reserve one for that weekend because you can cancel up until like the day before.
Rolling into BHam about 4 or 5 Saturday for moe. Will be just me and the wife, but she's cool. If anyone wants to meet up. Holla
I'm going to be bringing my own mushies but that in no way means i'm not interested in seeing what you got..at the very least we'll have to cheers over a beer or 3.
not yet. I put in for floor x4 for 6 nights on my card and x2 on my girlfriends card for two nights, so I'll be disappointed (but not surprised) if I strike out. I've been keeping an eye on the boards though and the only holds I've seen announced have been for the full 13-show package so I am holding out hope. Friday's general on sale is going to be a mess
got a weekend package for 7/21-23 in section 119, floors for 7/23, and some shitty back corner seats in the 100s for 8/4. Going to have to hunt for 8/5-6 on the secondary market and through rereleases. Going to suck.
