Went to Busch Gardens on a whim Saturday hoo boy. 3 hours there was more exhausting than 8 hours at Magic Kingdom 2 weeks ago.
I'm 1 for 3 on Meat Market. They mess up the easiest items. Did have a great meal at Barterhouse recently though.
We'll be at Busch Gardens on Saturday against my will. We have passes and have been three times this year already but my BIL and his wife got four free tickets and wants to take them and my wife's parents. We normally go on none weekend days. It's going to be packed and steamy. Not ideal for people in their mid 70s.
if I go to any theme park this time of year it’s one I’ve been to plenty where I don’t need to see everything getting there at like 5-6pm . have done that w Universal
NO Wait was too long for how long we were there. Wife and I are going to take a weekday work lunch soon while the kids are in school just to ride that and come home.
Will be in oldsmar this coming Friday to next Friday. Heading down for my nieces HS graduation. What fun things would you Tampa bros suggest?
Universal is the only park I'll go to this time of the year because there are lots of shaded areas and if you stay on property you get unlimited fast pass.
We always stay at the Hard Rock. Easy walk to Universal and it ends up being cheaper to stay there with the free fast pass upgrade than to stay elsewhere buy tickets plus the extra $100 or so a ticket for the upgrade. 4 of us so was going to be $400 a day extra.
Busch Gardens Brewery Tours in Seminole Heights(Tampa) and/or downtown St. Pete Armature Works near Downtown If you have kids with you the Florida Aquarium and Lowry Park Zoo are fun.
lol we once argued about Kenwood in this very thread. My family has 3 airbnb's in that area. Does it list the owner's name? Downtown has a ton of bars jammed near where Mandarin Hide is or a second area on Beach Drive where Tryst is. Some other bars out of that area, but on Central Ave. would be: The Saint Grand Central Brewery LALA Trophy Fish Tap House 61 Par Bar 3 Daughters Brewery Dirty Laundry Fergs No vacancy The bends Floridian Lure Whiskey exchange As for restaurants, naming a type would help, but my favorite spots are: Rococo Steak Taverna Costale The avenue Cassis Sea Salt Mangosteen Bodega And this place is very cool, Urbanstillhouse https://theurbanstillhouse.com/
The Harry Potter area is worth it alone. You can also pay a bit extra for the ticket that allows you to get on the Hogwarts Express and take you between parks. It's a ride itself essentially and you can knock out both in one day if you really wanted to.
I've never seen or read Harry Potter but Mrs. Grundle would love that. My son is just getting into it.
Islands of Adventure and City Walk is a nice setup , shade and plenty of places to get in the AC . plus it isn’t too big . Disney this time of year would be Hell
another friend booked the air bnb so couldn't tell ya yea sry shoulda been more specific - am most interested in good seafood recs or like slightly elevated bar food. doesn't have to be anything too upscale
I’m a bit of a roller coaster enthusiast and have been waiting to ride it since they started construction a few years ago. I’ll be back in tampa in December for a friends wedding so I may fly in a day early to visit Busch gardens.
Seafood: Sea salt, Mangosteen, Taverna Coastal, Ceviche, or Casis. Look up big catch salt creek, that might be up your alley (true old florida, not trendy). Also doc ford's out on the pier (touristy, but the pier is cool). Elevated bar food and others: trophy fish, the avenue, the lure, bodega, oak stone, the oyster bar, & red mesa. Steak: Beau & Mo's Ambience: Urbanstillhouse That's all in the downtown area.... if you go to dinner out at the beach then I like Snapper's or Sea Worthy.
tons of breweries in that area. Just cruise up and down central and the area around. I like green bench and cycle. Hawthorne has a great selection. Independent also (also have a solid Cuban sandwich) trophy fish is a cool bar with good fresh seafood. Not a huge menu Tiki bar at dr bbq is fun rooftop drinks at birchwood for the view and the gram
I hadn't really looked into it and thought neat throwing a metal track on top of a wood coaster who cares. Paid so little attention missed the opportunity to get a sneak peek ride with my pass. Couldn't have been more wrong and I can't wait to try it out. Had read some enthusiast reviews on reddit with one guy say it was his #3 out of 417 coasters he's ridden.
I love roller coasters but my wife has vertigo and will pass out so when we go I can never go. Sucks to go there and just see animals and hang out in Sesame Street land.
The Wheelhouse on Central seems to hit a lot of your notes. Not a brewery and not a dive but similar to both. Tons of beers on draft. Food is great.
Finally went on Iron Gwazi for the first time last week. It's really good. Definitely a huge upgrade from the original Gwazi. aka migraine mountain due to the day long headache you got after riding it.
If lines are quick one of us will jump on a coaster while other hangs with the kids. I peer pressured her to ride falcons fury cause there was zero line. She wasn’t too thrilled with me after that.
Yeah it’s not worth the backlash and attitude. One day I’m just going to go by myself on a weekday and say I went to work.
It was designed and built by Rocky Mountain Coasters. They’re relatively new on the scene but are known for some innovative, aggressive coasters. I’ve ridden a few at other parks and have enjoyed them. I think Iron Gwazi was announced right around the time I moved from Tampa.
Four Green Fields https://goo.gl/maps/RmTEcVN25ydRFXmm6 the have a brewery on site allegedly https://instagram.com/fourgreenfieldsirishpub?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
I have a second interview next Thursday for a higher paying position in Tampa. I may be moving back to the area In July. Sarasota born and raised so it’s not another northern jerk off. Excited at the possibility.
03 from Cardinal Mooney. Knew a decent amount of Riverview kids from my time. Only one I can think of that might have been around 08 is Kristina Gomes. Family lived across the street from me and her little brother is/was on that MTV Siesta Key show.
Yep I’ve known Kristina since middle school. What’s also funny is I went to HS with Dump cousin. I saw him in one of the hundreds of threads of Dump’s family on here. I wouldn’t be surprised if you and I knew of each other.
Mrs Titties and I are heading out late tonight on the town. What are some good late night dinner options? Looking for something that stays open til like 12-2. Much appreciated in advance
Can be anywhere. We are at my in laws in oldsmar area. Thinking of heading to ybor as there will be several things open in close proximity. Asking if there’s a “hidden local gem” that we should check out though.
